Bonjour, je travaille a Santa Fe (USA) dans une galerie qui promeut l'art du Bambou Japonais. Cette video est de grande qualité et transmet avec authenticité la très grande beauté de cet artisanat et art ( il faudrait presque un nouveau mot qui unissent les deux). J'ai tout particulièrement apprécie l'accent mis le geste artisanal. Bien que je sois impliquée dans la vente d'objets considérés comme oeuvres d'art, mon intime conviction demeure que l'essence de l'art reside dans le geste et donc pour moi un object usuel réalisé avec authenticité et "mastery" de la technique est un object d'art. Merci pour avoir réalisé cette video. Continuez vos documentaires et témoignages ils sont utiles.

Ces interviews d'artisans japonais sont toujours très intéressantes et permettent de mieux comprendre la passion des japonais pour leur patrimoine culturel et artisanal. I have been an avid fan of almost anything Japanese. I am saying "almost" because I know there's a lot more to be discovered about the Japanese people, cultures, and arts. I got started with the Japanese woodworking techniques that I think are the best in the world, the joinery that doesn't require nails or screws, and ancient structures that remain standing to this day. Then there' the discilines of the Japanese people, the respect towards man and other living creatures. It is a race that is like no other in this world. Not to mention, the advanced knowledge in mechanical and other technologies. My dream is that one day, I would get to visit Japan and see its beauty with my own eyes, be able to taste authentic Japanese food, and hopefully, meet some great local Japanese folks.

I like the traditional tools he's using, and the newly developed tools he's invented for his craft. A summary video of all the tools would be a big undertaking but extremely interesting for the historians and cradtsmen among us. However, that would reveal "Trade Secrets" 🙄

@@masummdar If you go ahead with it, I'm sure you'll find thousands of crafts persons, including women and girls will enjoy the experience of learning via virtual reality how to do wood turning, metal turning, bamboo craft, carpentry, welding, brazing, sewing ,cooking, etc, (driving trucks and flying planes, piloting ships are already successful).
Please keep up the good work! I think that if more people knew about the traditional Japanese crafts and where to find them, they would be more inclined to purchase the beautiful items that the craftsmen make.

@@EssenceofJapan Mostly searching through Google or DuckDuckGo and hoping for good results, or links from other sites. But, my comment was mainly stating that exposure to the artist in general helps. Though, if you were to make a directory of artists and their websites, that might also further help.

I love Japan, how the ultramodern and the old and traditional live side by side (even if I'm drawn to the traditional part of Japan). Dear Japan (and Japanese people), please stay Japanese ! Even if cultural exchange is interesting and sometimes even evolving (in a positive direction), I believe (as a westerner), we need to learn from Asia and in this specific context Japan, cause you as a nation and a culture are absolutely fantastic !

@@EssenceofJapan Hi and thank you for your reply. Yes, my trip to Japan was only for the purpose of lesiure or sightseeing if you prefer that thermonology. The reason for why I choose to come in spring is because I wanted to experience how the Japanese people salubrate " Sakura", wich I know is an important happening in Japan 😊. Next time I go to Japan, I'll try to be there in autumn and then prefrably somewhere in the countryside of some remote area in order to enjoy the fall season but also to experience some more of the genuine Japan 😊👍.
That’s awesome, fall is one of my favorite season in Japan, the weather is nice except for the typhoons but I’m sure you could enjoy the leaves turning red.
@@EssenceofJapan I also hold fall as my number one favorite season here in Sweden and my next visit to Japan is to be in the fall, and I'm thinking to spend the majority of my visit at fall in Hokkaido and perhaps in the Japanese alps 😊.

Joli reportage, un peu comme les petits documentaires NHKWorld sur l'artisanat. Juste une question je n'ai pas vu la localisation de l'artisan. Personnellement quand je regarde des documentaires je me note les artisans que je passe voir après quand je suis en vacances, en plus d'aller à la découverte des autres. Sinon super travail, joli montage sous-titre... Pas mal d'heures de travail je suppose
