In this episode we are in Zanzibar and we find a luxurious and a traditional resort. On our way to the abandoned resorts we bump into some dolphins.

Hi. Believe it or not, I am the owner of the resort which was built and owned together with a group of Danish investors +10 years ago. Indeed a very sad story and a depressing video to watch. But many thanks for sharing the video. Interesting to read your comments. I can guarantee you, that this was once one of the most beautiful places on earth, filled with tourists from all over the world, enjoying the hospitality of the Zanzibarian people and the exceptional view . It was destroyed by a corruptive local politicians and not by a hurricane. To be continued - there a still someone to account for this mess :)
Why can't these be sold? I will buy a few bungalows. Fix it up and air b&b them.

I worked in the first resort as Executive Housekeeper. It was a great resort with 35
Villas consisting of 3 bedroom each... tennis court..Management Staff Housing and Junior staff housing with very expensive furniture. It's a very long story and we all staff were very sad when it closed down. It only operated for two years.....

I stayed there once with my family, it was an exceptionally beautiful place and we had a fantastic stay there. It makes me so sad to see it like this

I can't expres how much I enjoy your adventures. I sub to many exploration channels, and yours is hands down my favorite. You don't bombard your audience with nonsense, or superstitious mumbo jumbo. You've clearly done your research before embarking on most of your adventures, which is great for your audience, as you're able to provide details and history that keeps me coming back.
Also, you explore unique locations that I don't see covered on other channels.

Locals would certainly have a story to tell. But most of these CZcamsrs do zero research.

During a hurricane the entire island would be 12 feet underwater. From paradise to hell.
Ik was daar toen helft in de fik vloog (2017). Is eigendom van een Indiër. Zijn laatste redmiddel was het in de fik steken zodat verzekeringen iets zouden uitbetalen. Er wonen lokale gezinnen in en Masai bewaken het gebied (samen met wat koeien/stieren die vrij rondlopen). Wat verder op is ouderr: daar staat een oude hippie domein waar alle gebouwen zelf gemaakt zijn met wat lokale natuur hen bood. Daar woont er nog maar 1 man (en zen 10 katten).

I was half there when it caught fire (2017). Is owned by an Indian. His last resort was to set it on fire so that insurance would pay out. Local families live in it and Masai guard the area (along with some cows / bulls that roam freely). A little further is older: there is an old hippie domain where all the buildings themselves were made with what local nature offered them. Only 1 man lives there (and 10 cats).

Ha cool! I've been to Zanzibar and we accidently ran into the 2nd resort 5 years ago. The bigger buildings were still there and the bungalows looked more or less the same.

@@mvdh877 it depends on your settings. I'm Belgian so I speak Dutch, but my settings are in English. Somehow my phone sometimes translates titles to Dutch. But the translations are not the best...

I'll never be rich enough to see places like this. Even in destitution. So, a dark part of me feels some justice in this. The other just feels even sadder for it.
In some of the locations such as Tunisia I see the property being taken away from a select few and being made available to the masses. I bet the beaches were closed off to the public.
I know someone who just spent 8k on an all inclusive vacation to Jamaica they could have spent a fraction of that and had a better vacation. So it possible to travel on a low budget you just have to be creative. My adventure vacations ended when I got married....woman.

For sure nothing is there to last forever. Anything living or existing is only there for sometime but it's history and destruction will remain forever.
I searched the Beaches but didnt find this resort, but i think i found another on that is abandoned.

There is a sinking island with families on it. They should all be moved here.
Bulldoze it make artificial reef with the concrete. Depending on the current eco system maybe introduce some goats or other live stock to eat vegetation and feed people.
