This lovely Canadian cruising couple are happy to spend some time with the buyers and show them how everything works on board, as well as deliver the boat to Australia or New Zealand if they chose so.

To keep us afloat in this crazy world at present I hope that your new vessel takes you in and on as many wonders as she has done
A note on the SCUBA tanks: Tanks are designed for long term storage in the upright position. This puts the thickest part of the cylinder wall where condensation or sea water (if completely depressurized) would pool. Horizontal storage exposes the weakest section of the wall to corrosion. Of course risk is mitigated by 5 yr hydrostatic test and internal visual inspection.

Im curious how much headroom you actually have, as Im starting to look for a boat. Being 6'4", headroom is a very high checkmark on my list!
Hi and thank you for watching! I cannot recall what the headroom was as this boat was sold quite some time both her previous owner (whom you see in the video), and her new owner would have been 6' or a little less. I know it is hard to find a boat when you are very tall.

Thank you! The previous owners just needed a bigger boat. Her new owners are now in New Zealand getting ready to go cruising. Very lucky indeed!
Good question. If we could simply add 3 meters to the length of Q... we would keep her forever. As we age (gracefully)... we are looking for more space = creature comfort. Simple as that.

If I was in the market for a mono-hull The Alubat's/Ovine's are definitely on the short list. I understand they're actually quite fast on a reach and downwind.
You are correct... the reach is the fastest point of sail... and with the genniker on a code zero... even a direct downwind run can be exhilarating.

Zone Television we have hit 11 knots...but typically we sail between 7 and 8 knots.
In a mid-night taking on water, filling rapidly, get off now, situation, would the placement of the life-raft with the dinghy wedged against it be an issue? Are there any life jackets stored near the stern as well? Lots of electronics, but EPIRB?
Good point... and good questions, We never do extended crossings with the dinghy in the davits. We found an exceptional hard bottom dinghy that has a folding transom. It fits in the bow cabin for crossings (a place we never use for crossings). There is an EPIRB (I didn’t mention it or the fire extinguishers because I see these things as essential). Life jackets are WORN by all crew and passengers while in the cockpit on crossings.

No way in hell would I go offshore with a swing Keel. I can see where a noob with no sea time would fall for such a scam. Ok, I digress, if all you want to do is run the ICW with an occasional short stint offshore not too far, your ok. Bluewater is a whole nother deal. Get knocked down in a 30 foot sea, with that 7th wave. UR fucked, the board will trunk and there goes the righting moment. When you need a keel, its there to save you life. Please do some reading. Study and stay alive. oz
I would be interested to hear how much serious offshore sailing you have done Warren. This boat alone has sailed more than 30,000nm. Ovni and Alubat yachts are well-known for being some of the most seaworthy yachts you will ever find. Sounds to me that other than reading a few sailing books all your sailing was done from a yacht club bar stool.
@@NautilusYachtManagement I respectfully disagree. I seriously doubt Warren has ever read a sailing book. I sincerely hope that anyone considering an OVNI or any well-found aluminum centerboard boat gives his comment all the attention it deserves. NONE.
