    Terrific video What I did when installing my LS with a AR5 5 speed transmission is I installed the engine and transmission then I hooked up my drive line and that established where my engine needed to be. Then I didn’t have to get a new drive line it works perfectly

    I took of my A arms and replaced the 30 year our bushings Then I bolted up my Moyer mounts with no problem at all I replaced or reconstructed everything and I mean everything!!! On my 92 Camaro

    Thank you! I'm getting ready to put a sbc in my v6 Camaro. I've watched several videos and read forum post, but had a few little questions. Your previous video with the wiring and this one helped clear it up.

      @@dilligaf9199 thanks I'll let you know if any more come up. I've been driving mine daily while gathering and getting ready for my engine swap. It's helped me to sort out the rest of the car, or at least add more items to my list of things to do. Now that the weather is warming up I'm ready. I'm going to clean and paint my bay. I'm going to carb from efi and my fuel gauge doesn't work so I've got to get in the tank. It's good to watch someone doing the same thing with a similar style and budget!

    An option for the catch can is an air oil separator. It's like the catch can but is better at scrubbing oil. Also the separator has a drain line that you can run to the pan. Because it drains all the time you don't have to think about emptying it out. But they are a bit of money.

  • @815LSxSwaps
    @815LSxSwaps Před 2 lety +1

    Looks good, I think you'd either need a car intake or a cowl hood. I prefer cowl hood because those intakes flow better.

      Yeah, I've heard the truck intakes flow pretty good. I'm not planning on replacing the Intake just yet because $$. Video i haven't edited yet shows clearance is better than what this video makes its to be...

  • @davebarron5939
    @davebarron5939 Před 2 lety +2

    FYI. If you will allow me, Those "fixed" clam-shell mounts are too far forward, you must have 4 bolts holding them in, I am certain you have to move the brake line, and slide the mounts back till three of the existing holes line up THEN drill out a new 4th hole to mount properly, because that motor is WAY to far forward. If possible, with the engine in the car, measure the distance from flat bell housing mount surface to the center-line of the rear end yoke. Then measure the length of trans, subtract it, then measure the length of "inserted" driveshaft (should have ware marks) as to proper depth. I will bet you will find your driveshaft is 3" to short. You will need to move those fixed mounts. Good luck, love these cars, the only problem with them is their 80's anemic power, which the LS solves in bucket loads. LOL

    • @pjstartv6798
      @pjstartv6798 Před 2 lety

      You do not need 4 bolts to hold them in, 3 is more than enough. However, you are correct about the position of the engine, it needs to move backwards. Hawk Motorsports makes motor mount pads that are mounted to the k-member and move the engine further back in the thirdgen Camaros and Firebirds. The motor mounts are block mounted using this setup.
