I ordered a GD350 last night. Mine is gray. Paid $85 for it. This is my first real watch I've ever owned. I've had toy watches when I was a little boy.
nice watch, definetly one of the best looking G-Shocks, I've not seen one irl but it looks cool and quite unique having a different coloured lcd and vibrate function. I think I might add one to my collection, also the GA-100 line are nice looking watches at around the same price.
Why do people want to have on their G-Shocks a saphire crystal instead of mineral crystal. I know that prestigious and expensive G-Shocks have a saphire crystal but this is because they are luxury watches for collectors. Saphire crystal is easier to shatter. Maybe it’s protected in G-Shocks in a better way than in e.g. Omega, Rolex, etc. but the risk still exists. G-Shocks are tools and I don’t think that I want to worry about shattering the saphire crystal. Moreover, saphire should have the AR coat in order not to reflect the light. The best effect is when we have two AR coats - on the bottom and on the top of the saphire. Unfortunately, the AR coat is easy to scratch. Maybe we don’t scratch the saphire crystal, but we scratch the AR coat on top of it. I’d like to remind that NASA decided to give an Omega watches to the Astronauts. Those Omega watches didn’t have a saphire crystal but acrylic ones. Why? Because in tool watches and that ones wich have to work in tough environments, saphire crystal is not the good option. It can be easily shattered, but acrylic or mineral not. That’s why G-Shocks shouldn’t have a saphire crystal.
@@lybros474 Higher tiers of G shocks have saphire crystals, such as the gwg2000, the metal g shocks etc. Is not like G shocks dont come with saphire crystals. I have a victorinox Inox with saphire and it has goone thru a lot stuff and never shattered. Is not like saphire will shatter easily. Plus replacing a crystal is extremely easy to do
