Great review with excellent clear picture quality 👍 Fun fact - When the GD-350 first came out back in 2013, the name Vibrator was used instead of it now saying Vibe Alarm. Casio quickly made the change and those early released GD-350 vibrator watches are now highly sought after and collectible!
I don’t know if it was ever released saying vibrator in the US, I bought it in 2013. If it did it was quickly changed. I do remember the model said vibrator when it was first released.
Not sure why I'm watching a review on a watch I own, but here I am. If this watch had the tough solar and multi-band 6, it would be the best G-Shock available, hands down.
Simucom Reviews I love this watch I've used it for 5 years and the batt is still going. Love the vib and 5 alarms. The display is better than the range man, the extra on the range aren't even that great plus the small display. This watch is great I will keep it for ever
Thanks for the detailed review. I had the black GD-350 (positive display) for many years and now I'm thinking of purchasing this grey one. What I liked most about this watch is the shape that is so unique to other G-shocks and the vibe alarm. Yes, this watch didn't get much attention it deserves but this watch to me is one of the best amongst the low-range price G-shocks that I have. The LCD display is super legible and very functional in tactical situations.
Awesome man, I love hearing about people re-buying watches because they were so good. Truly an underdog when you consider everyone drools over G-Shock Sqaures and "Casioaks", when this one outperforms many of the hyped models easily.
Hello, I was wondering, what are your thoughts about this watch since you have a long term perspective? I bought one today and just want to know if I can count on it for a long term edc watch. Thanks for sharing.
It's a beast. The only thing it needs is battery change. Maybe for every 3 years. It's an excellent choice. I have dw 5600 but I like this more@@ricky-w9t
Yes I love the light and the contrast in this watch you gave a great description on this watch one of the best descriptions on CZcams you're the only one that gave the measurements of this watch the width and the height thank you for sharing it such a great great video thank you so much 👍
Thanks for the great review of this watch. I've got 3 of them I like it soo much. Two with negative display. You are correct about this being a underdog but I still love it. It's great if you have Tinnitus or have hearing issues and can use that vibrating alarm.
Thanks for stopping by. Never thought of how useful it would be for people with tinnitus, but that just shows how versatile this watch is. Thanks for sharing.
Run away! my channel will only make your watch addiction worse! 😁 But seriously I'm glad I could help you experience a new G Shock. Nothing better than finding a new and exciting watch. Thanks for stopping by.
It,s a Gem.......Baffled as to why Casio decided to discontinue the Model Last year.......Possibly the best G Shock they ever created !........With regards to the Timer not being able to be zeroed and reset from the dedicated button........It,s so it cannot be accidentally stopped once set.....If you are in one of those situations where you have just placed explosives at the enemies Ammo / Fuel Dump location.....And you need to know when to get the Hell out of Dodge before the fireworks begin.......It can also be used as your depth time device (Decompression Timer) when used Sub Aqua.....Again, You can,t accidentally stop it....... A safety device so you know how long to be safely under the blue wobbly stuff.
My argument would be that it'd be virtually impossible to accidentally stop it, but it's not a big deal at all to me regardless.; just something I myself would have preferred. Other than that this watch truly is G-Shock perfection that needs more recognition and more color variations.
The reason you can only start the count down timer on the main time keeping display is so you don't accidently stop the timer once started. If you're timing something important (military/LE operation) you don't want to accident stop the timer when you bump your wrist or press the wrong button.
I get that, but in reality the button is highly unlikely to accidentally be depressed and when timing multiple evolutions that system is less than ideal, but not a big deal at all. The problem is easily fixed by being in the timer mode in the first place, and the timer shortcut is a great added feature.
What a brilliant review, has absolutely everything you want to know, thanks very much mate, I’m going to pull the trigger on this watch but a slightly different colour way, cheers 👍🏻
3 years later.. Was available for $50 on a deal.. Pulled the trigger.. It’ll be a buddy to my GD-400.. I think it’s pretty popular in G-Shock world and I’m not sure if it can be considered as underrated or underdog..
Great review, very thorough, and it's one of the reasons why I went out and got this G-Shock myself.... it has now become my favorite Casio that I have, G-Shock or otherwise.... I love the rugged military style look., Along with the dial display, although I will see I can do without the meters, and stuff like that but overall, it's great... If I had to pick a favorite display, it would be the Casio AE 1500, maybe not so much the size but just for the very simple layout And how things are positioned on the dial... the only thing I can do without on the 1500 display is the second counter bars to the right side... again to me that something that's just not necessary and definitely not useful... but overall the GD 350 is my definite favorite
@@degenerateWA Well I wouldn't go that far, I always gave a bit more respect to Officers that came up through the ranks. You guys always made better leaders.
I just ordered this watch. It's my first watch since I was a little kid. I just liked the color and figured G Shocks were the nicest, most durable watches in my price range. Paid $85 for it.
Hopefully that just means a newer model will take it's place. (hopefully a digital version and not some ana-digi model with a crappy backlight). Either way, you've got a solid watch, great choice🤘
It is not really a tactical military watch lol I am a member of the SA Police Service and an adventure biker and this watch is very handy. Robust, reliable and accurate. I wear it every day. The coolest feature of it is that it says vibrator at the bottom.
That watch has a motion sensor that turns on the light automatically when you tilt your arm to check the time. I don't think anyone realizes that it includes that function because I don't see it in any reviews.
Yeah it's called 'auto EL'. It's pretty standard in every G-Shock nowadays. I don't normally mention it just because it's a function I turn off and don't use. I don't like wasting the battery life from any kind of upwards wrist rotation.
For me the battery would last less than two years. I use the timer a lot for the gym, and it would be with vibration on. Can you set the timer in seconds? Like 30 seconds countdown?
👍. Thank you for your service 🇺🇸. Great review. Does the watch have an hourly chime/vibe? The vibe alarm is great for someone with hearing issues. Can you run audio and vibe at the same time?
@@e28forever30 can you not? I might be confusing it with my Expedition with vibration. Or I might just be confusing it with nothing at all lol. Always refer to the manual
Good review. Kinda disagree on the usefulness of the bar graphic, but that’s a personal thing. But really, the reason I had to comment was to say congrats on making Chief.
@@sharkskin3448 I think that the GD-400 is built better and is tougher, but that the GD-350 has better functions and module. For example, the GD-400 has partially steel lugs, while the GD-350 just has standard lugs. That being said, the GD-350's numbers are so much more visible and has a vibe alarm at the same price.
I've never owned a GBX100 so I can't speak for that one. It's definitely a hard pick between the other two. The GD400 is an amazing watch, both in toughness and it just looks cool especially with the bull bars. The GD400 has the quintessential "G-Shock" look that's hard to beat. The GD350 offers more functionally however both will have the same durability and reliability. If I had to only pick one... I would go with the GD400, but that's only because it fits my style more.
