- Nic Von Rupp embarks on another unforgettable adventure together with local star Luca Guichard as he uncovers the lesser-known surf treasures of Faro islands, in Southern Portugal to uncover the magic of Levante-generated waves. Formed after southerly strong winds push Mediterranean swells through the Gibraltar strait, fueling its power towards Portugal’s south coast, the Levante waves spread warm water, fun rides and good vibes to Faro’s sandy islets. Unlikely surf sessions in an otherwise placid stretch of coast. Alongside the perennially stoked Luca Guichard, the pair showcase their talent in these playful waves, besides enjoying the picturesque old town of Tavira, swimming under secluded waterfalls and sharing the stoke, the laughter, and the pure joy of Algarve’s hidden gems.

Hey thanks for all the cool videos. I love Portugal, it‘s such a friendly place. I spent my holidays almost every year in Algarve for the past ten years. „It‘s flat right now, but in two hours it‘s gona be double the size“ 2 x 0 = 0 luckily your math wasn‘t off in reality and you scored some nice waves 😅

Reminds me of my favorite surf trip! Went from Gibraltar through Seville, Faro, Albufeira, Lagos, Lisbon, and Cascais. Crazy to see that Faro can sometimes get waves! Vibes look immaculate.

Faro has waves quite often, more than you might imagine.
However, these waves are on Ilha Deserta and not on Praia de Faro.

Cacela Velha! One of my favourite beaches in Portugal, I was there 10 days ago. Is that waterfall / lagoon in the same area!? My aunt lives 20 mins from Faro and I try to visit at least 2 times per year and surf over on the west at Ponta Ruiva (favourite) Amado, Arrifana etc. Keep up the amazing footage and hopefully see you in the surf soon Nick!
