Video title is miss leading. Having a LED light has nothing to do with night vision. Two difference things! Night vision is the ability to see in low-light conditions, either naturally with scotopic vision or through a night-vision device. The currect video title: "Now you can Have a nice Romance Dinner Under the Candlelight With the Mini 4 Pro". Just a thought! Anyway, cool drone! Happy filming!
Of course you are right.
It’s always a super thin line to have a title that creates curiosity and not completely incorrect an misleading etc etc.
Any kind of light gives you in fact the ability to see during night time or other wise low light conditions. It can be dark even if it’s not night…So… a kind of night vision. Of course it’s not a thermal sensor nor image enhancer that works with IR. That’s why I wanted to be super clear in the image of the thumbnail. That’s definitely showing off the real thing.

@@MK-Creator To be honest: This title is misleading. There isn't really a fine line here. I didn't know your channel and my thought was "Why is he making such a big deal out of a spotlight?"
In total the Mini 4 Pro is a good drone and there aren't any problems if it's the first one anybody buys. But compared to the Mini 3 Pro there aren't a lot of upgrades. Better obstacle detection is probably the most noteworthy. But to be honest I was surprised why the Mini 3 Pro didn't already have that. I bought the 3 Pro because of obstacle detection only to find out it's just front and back. Yeah. I could've double checked the description. But I still got a better camera out of it. And D-Cinelike doesn't seem to be too different from the new 10 bit format on the 4 Pro either.
I mean can't expect too much only a little bit more than a year after the Mini 3 Pro released. And it seems a lot of manufacturers nowadays don't really go for innovation anymore, but only for a "Sell almost the same thing again to make more money!" Probably need to wait at least 3 to 5 years before all these small changes add up.
You always get genuinely excited when DJI drones, uh... work as designed, LOL! It's almost as if your inner skeptic is shocked to find something that delivers on it's promises. Either way, don't ever change that. When I saw you reviewing Mini 3 pro, I think it was a year ago, you were so impressed and excited at it that it made your video fun to watch and experience your joy.
Don't get jaded and cold, man! Keep in touch with your inner child! It is infectious (in a good way, not in a COVID way, lol.)

honestly I am the same, after so many crappy drones and I start flying DJI and the RTH actually works, I was shocked asf. I expected it to need my help to stop it from slamming into trees or buildings as it lands
Im as happy as you! I loved this LED light on my lost Air2s…. And missed on Mini 3 Pro, glad DJI actually did it on Mini 4, pretty much we can call it the best drone in the world 🌎 for its size and features

I love the Aux light on the mini 4…It’s one of those little features Dji could easily have left out on a sub 250g drone…My only quibble with the fly more combo is they really should have included a set of ND filters for the price. This is definitely going to be my first drone

It looks pretty darn bright in the video I cant imagine any issues spotting that from miles away at night.

The highest elevation I had was about 5 m. I’m actually surprised how bright it was.
During SAR I can definitely see that this could be useful. Makes it also very obvious for the person in distress that there is something in the sky looking for that person.
I reckon if you flew 50m you can still see it on the ground

Thats way brighter than I earlier imagined!! Don’t know why DJI didn’t market this feature more. Have the Mini 3 Pro currently and wish I had this in mine too
Get a switched battery box. Fit a 0.5W LED (or several) underneath it (+ suitable resistor). Strap it to your drone.
Or just buy a small flashlight with a COB panel and strap it on.
Job done.
I did this with a 3AAA battery box to make a navigation light, with red & green & blue & white LEDs to show the orientation of the drone at night, and illuminate anything I wanted to shoot.
Thanks man will def try this out one day. Worried if it crossed the 250gm mark. But would try it out at some clear area one day, although I rarely shoot at night. its good to have some indicator of the drones location. the mini3pro is virtually undetectable at night since it has no lights apart from the ones on the wings which are very dim to see at higher altitudes @@bannerman100
@@maskedmanIn the UK, you can fly up to 500g like a 250g if you have the A2 CofC licence. I go out and fly over nearby fields, evenings and night, and this little light box I invented works brilliantly. Use one 10440 Li-Ion battery instead of 3 AAA cells, it gives enough volts and is rechargeable.
UK VLOS rules require you to be able so see the drone AND it's orientation, this fully enables that.
@@bannerman100 That's really nice to know, the place where I live in has totally unregulated drone Laws, so the authorities have been a total nuisance for the drone flying enthusiasts here. I mean even the sub 250gm drones are at risk flying at places. Have heard lots of nano drones getting confiscated by authorities and charged hefty fines. I noticed that your obstacle avoidance sensors were not working. The vision sensors icon appeared red on your remote.
Is that because it is dark and the sensors do not have enough light?
Exactly. It’s due to the darkness. But it’s very badly informed on the screen that you suddenly don’t have any sensors active.

Is this your first drone?? The Mavic Air 2 did the same thing over 3 years ago.
Of course there has been drones with downward facing lights in the past, but this video is not about what other drones have had…This video is about what the tiny mini 4 drone have,and more compared to what DJI did not manage to cramp into any previous mini drone.
Actually your comment would be the same regarding the 360° obstacle avoidance. What’s the hype, it has been on drones before this one…
if I remember correctly it came with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom back in 2018. And DJI Matrice had an accessory to get pretty much the same back in 2015.
And what if this was actually my very first drone…? What difference would that make…? My apology that I did not mention any previous drones I have had, in the video. If I have had any other drone in the past… who knows… this is maybe my very first drone.

That's pretty cool tho and i would definitely leave it on auto . I'm about to get the DJI mini 2se drone in a few days, i can't wait. The 3 and 4 are awesome of course but this will be my first real drone. I've just been playing with a Tomzon d15 i got off Amazon for $35 , (caught it on a really good sale normally close to $70), but it's an awesome little indoor drone, takes decent pics and even video, as long as you fly real slow😂, if you fly fast the video is a blur, still awesome little toy drone.
I'm so stoked for the mini 2 tho, I'm a roofer and do gutters and all kinds of work like that, I'm thinking this thing can at least let me know if i gotta get a ladder off my van to clean a gutter, I'll be able to just fly the mini 2 up and check it out, probably not super practical but hey, it's mine, I'll do what i want😂

Well… it’s a play of words. Night vision is to see in the night. Never claimed IR image enhancement, nor thermal. And the actual thumbnail image is very clear what it is about.

So here's thing...
Does obstacle sensing work when it's THAT dark?
I use my drone when I respond to intruder alarms from my property, to avoid unexpected confrontation for my personal safety. Using waypoints, I can check large areas and locked compounds in a tenth of the time it takes to patrol on foot. The better low-light performance of the camera on the M4P extends that utility. But this light means that I can illuminate intruders so that they will leave without me having to approach them - or I can indicate their location for the Police - and I can record their activity.
Imagine the cost of a fixed CCTV system to do that across a farm, factory, or transport depot. One farmer I know has had three groups of trespassers on his land at once. This will be a great tool for rural crime deterrence - especially if obstacle avoidance is good.
There is a big chance a future will show that :)

There are so many available accessories you can buy. But most of them is more than 1gram so it’s no longer a sub 250g drone.

It’s not a new feature, it’s been out for a few years with the Mavic series, it’s a feature that you’ll attract too much attention and it’s only useful for landing at night
It is a very new feature for the mini series. We can’t compare to >250 g drones. It’s about what they have managed to get into a
thermal is the way to...prices coming way down..infrared needs a infrared light source....green scope is light amplafication....(starlight )...infrared you want .000001 lux rating...led lighting ...big deal it will suc your battery dry

It’s very new to the DJI mini drones. I don’t claim that it’s new to drones in general. But it’s a new feature for the DJI mini series and you did not find it in the DJI mini 3 Pro for example.

I like your channel but these attention grabbing, yet, inaccurate titles are starting to get old, quickly.
Just an opinion.
We have to keep the sub 250 g drones apart from the bigger siblings. We are talking about the ability to include things that is indeed available in bigger ones, but now in a mini model.
With your way to approach features in the mini, nothing will impress you because more or less everything is to be found in >250 g drones.
As we all know, of the biggest news in the mini 4 pro is of course the 360° obstacle avoidance sensors. But… it has been available in bigger DJI drones since 2015.

Does it have a more dim mode?The strobe light is already not very subtle. Shooting hyper lapse with a big “flashlight” moving 0.2 meter per second will make people call cops on me. Just a thought.
