    The new Deutz line is beautiful. Maybe even prettier than a Fendt. I saw one recently in Central Pennsylvania. I love seeing European equipment. I've also seen a silver Valtra locally. Makes you wonder where some of these farmers buy their equipment, and why they choose it compared to the domestic brands.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  Před 2 lety +1

      The 9340 TTV is a nice tractor. Fendt and Valtra are owned by AGCO. In 2008 AGCO decided to stop distributing Valtra in the United States. Valtra is the top selling tractor brand in South America.

    For all who are interested in farm equipment history I will tell a little bit about the History of the Lauingen plant in which these tractors are built. The Lauingen plant is the former KÖLA plant. KÖLA is short for KÖDEL & BÖHM Lauingen. This farm equipment company was founded in Lauingen Bavaria in 1871 and purchased by KHD, the mother company of DEUTZ, in 1969. In the early years KÖLA mostly produced threshing machines in the later years they produced forage harvesters, forage wagons, loader wagons, balers, hey blowing machines and combine harvesters. As KHD had also purchased the majority of stocks in the FAHR company during the 1960s all KÖLA machines were branded as FAHR since 1971. The KÖLA plant was specialised by KHD in production of combine harvesters since the 1970s. KHD built also there special tractors like the DEUTZ INTRAC series in Lauingen. After severe economical problems in the late 1980s and early 1990s KHD sold the remaining parts of there European farm equipment business to the Italian SAME group in 1995. The DEUTZ tractor plant in Cologne was closed down immediately after take over. Production of the smaller DEUTZ-FAHR tractors was moved to the the SAME plant in Treviglio and production of the larger DEUTZ-FAHR tractors was moved to the KÖLA plant in Lauingen. The production of combines was ceased in Lauingen in 2001.

    Beautiful to use as they are designed for comfort and raw performance. They are very highly rated in p.t.o power with very minimal loss between engine however In some gears have a they are prone to failure as they ain't forged like Ford and Massey which don't use the powdered metal process in making gears. Deutz Fahr tractors are mainly Grassland tractors used in hay etc In Germany. I think Same of Italy own the brand.

      @@bigtractorpower I kind of thought they likely did. Something you would not think about down there but up here in our cold Winters a lot of the Duetz engines in the Fendts are known for being very hard starters in cold weather. Even with block heaters it’s not enough, if your using the tractor daily like on a dairy farm for example you have to park them in a heated shop. Back when I worked at a farm equipment dealership my boss often bought used tractor online from down South. First thing to check was no block heaters and water in the tires for ballast. Also very weak antifreeze as it can freeze solid and crack the engine block, seen that. He even bought three 1150 Versatiles from a pineapple farm in Hiawi! They should of stayed there as they had a ton of very rough hours on them!!
