Seriously, seems like more white and black are racist today than 10 years ago, I hope this is just a “gets worse before it gets better” moment. If I’m being positive I’d like to believe we’re at a stage where white and black people are truly familiar enough with each other now to the point that people are saying things that they believed for the longest but just went unsaid, ignorant beliefs are coming out on both sides, and I’m hoping it’s because we are becoming one culture and these are just growing pains. Hopefully once both sides finish airing out their grievances we can begin to correct the ignorance now that a real dialogue has started. If I had to guess, this is what I think is happening but maybe it’s just wishful thinking.

Hey bro, I really appreciate your unbiased opinions on everything you do. It really hurts my heart, being a white man who grew up in an area, and went to a school, in my earliest years, as the minority, to know that there are people who hate other people who they've never even met, in most cases. Not everyone experienced the cultural upbringing that I did, and in my opinion, it's the best thing that could have happened to me. Some of the best, realest people I've met, and have considered my friends, look nothing like me, and I feel bad for people who sell themselves short, and avoid other people, simply because of the color of their skin. Literally all 6 of my nieces and nephews are mixed, and I love them all the same, and I would die for the ones I love, it scares me to know that there are people out there who would insult, or hurt them, simply because of the way they look, and I feel bad for the person who tries, honestly, it would be a very bad day for them. My love, and the protection of the ones I love, knows no limits. Anyways, I just wanted to speak my mind, even if this never gets seen. Much love, bro, keep doing you. 💪😎

I honestly reckon the internet and social media has slowly killed good music. Back then NO INTERNET. Which meant no sales through downloads (people had to actually go to the bother to go to a store and buy music). Limited ways to get your music exposed to the public (radio time, TV, concerts is about it). A lot more work involved in producing GOOD material for fans ... because if the music is crap, no fans. No auto tune, etc (artists were TRUE artists and musicians who could actually perform live). Artists had to WORK HARD for their fans and success. That was reality back then.
But, NOW days with the internet ... millions are reached instantaneously with a post, the musical flaws can be covered up with auto tune, filters, etc and the emphasis is on the performer's IMAGE not the music. Today's "artists" are more worried about LIKES, online beefs, who's hooking up with who, fake selfies, making popular social declarations, social media posts ...... THAT'S what gives them their success. NOT the quality of their music. (eg. some talentless mumble rapper with fake teeth, bad hair, squiggle face tattoos, etc can literally "babble" some illiterate lines on an over-used music track ... call it music ... and then become an internet success overnight. WTF??)
That's why the pre-social media performers are so good and timeless .... they are TRUE artists that earnt their success the hard way. REAL music.

I grew up with Nirvana and alternative punk rock. I had known about Eminem, but I started watching videos like this one. That is when I started to notice that rappers and rap fans have mad respect for this white boy who is my age. So I wanted to listen to Eminem to see what the big deal was...My cousin guided me on my tour of his life and albums. I was and still am BLOWN AWAY.
I never heard or experienced the complicated depth at what a single man can do with the English language. This man put in years of dedication and work to his art. Amazing! Eminem could teach this as a Master Professor at any major university in the world. I had to re-tune my ear to pick up his different flows. But once I did....I was dumb struck by the mastery of the language, and never before heard complex lyrical delivery... I could go on for hours. But I lack the genius mind that Eminem clearly has.
    I AM AW STRUCK !!!

Mainstream pop audiences bought in & never let go.

As a new subscriber, can I say I abso-fucking-lutely respect your reactions and look forward to your content. I agree 110% with your statements about Eminem. I have heard most rappers don't want to be on the same track as him because of how good he is. My question to you is, do you believe when people rip apart an amazing song (like Drop the World for example) to find a "winner" it destroys the song and message as a whole and do you think more would colab with him if that happen? It sometimes seems stupid to me to see two(or more) fan bases divided and arguing with each other about a song they both like. This 48yo white vet from Louisiana sure would like to hear your opinion. Thank you for your time and energy you put into your content.

Race comes in front of everything because there are issues that have never been resolved. The racial discrimination is just subtle. Minorities also have parts of their culture and influential inventions taken from them. Its isnt fair to put race in front of everything but people of color are very protective to their culture and influence because they are never given full credit by society. So for some it's a matter of protection. It's also difficult to welcome you into a culture when you feel like people are going to profit from it or take it away rather than just appreciating it and giving credit where it's due.
However people need to see talent for what it is. You also cant help what music you connect with the most. At the end of he day we need to meet in the middle and try to understand each other.
For example understand that hip hop is originated by black people. Latino people are also the originators I think. So much has been taken away from them. So at the end of the day appreciate the talent no matter what color the person is but it's also your responsibility not to culturally appropriate and represent the culture badly.

Agreed! Racism is just the current buzz. It shows a lack of intelligence. At the root this is a class thing. 99% of us are in the exact same boat, regardless of race/religion/gender. We need to work to provide food, water and shelter etc for ourselves and families. That is it. Every single person in this comment section is apart of that because we aren't billionaires. The only people oppressing are the 1% that run this show. Keep us all distracted, arguing and fighting over crumbs whilst they pull the strings and continue to further restrict our freedoms. We would be infinitely powerful if we all united, and 'The man' knows this
