I inherited a 1978 Ford LTD Landau with a 460 and all the options. It was the same Wedgwood blue, the seats were a nice cloth but not this luxurious. The dash was very similar. People said the 460 was gutless by 1978. No way. That car would go up the steep hills of San Francisco like a jet! Thanks for listening.
French guy here. I used to own a Century from 1986. Nothing related to this luxury, but the car had the same kind of cushioned seats, and i have never met such a comfortable driving sensation since. Soooo comfortable.
I remember riding in the back seat of one of these Town Cars in 1978. It was very ostentatious so soon after the OPEC oil embargo and all the downsizing of cars. I was impressed.
Reminds me of the gold cartier edition 75 Mark IV coupe i got handed to me. Wish i had the garage space. Had to get rid of it, but it was a garage kept creampuff like this.
While I prefer the pre-78 fender skirt look and the forged aluminum wheels would be a marked improvement (as would the standard covers) over the wire caps IMOP, this is a nice car and, I think, well priced. Certainly by the pound :)
There are two very common explanations for the mileage discrepancy: (1) someone spun the odometer back to reduce the mileage shown, or, (2) the odometer has rolled over 100,000 miles and restarted on zero. The idling engine RPM sounds too high to me. This vehicle would make a great pimp-mobile.
What I really find Amazing is that they say that they have Tons and Tons of receipts for the car and yet they have nothing showing up about the repaint❓️Go Figure‼️
Other than the replacement vinyl top, there are no exterior cosmetic receipts whatsoever. I do believe the car was repainted at some point but VERY well done.
As someone who grew up in the 70's and 80's, this was totally the dream car of the day!!

My mother had a 1978 Wedgewood blue Town Coupe with a white landau roof. Nice car.

I agree, those fake wire wheels are gross. The standard wheel cover would be a huge improvement. Wedgewood Blue, aka bedroom blue! 😂
Totally agree
The standard full covers are included.
Wow, absolutely beautiful.
I would love to own this car!
You can have any color you want as long as it's black!!
Beautiful 😍
Bycicle blue..great
Of course a southern funeral home ordered it in light blue! The south has very "untraditional" funeral colors for their cars lol
The proper color for this car is Black on black!!!
8 mpg??
Something close I'm sure.
