Was The Quran Really Preserved? It Doesn't Matter!

  • Muslims claim that the Quran has been perfectly preserved and that this is miraculous. I have more than 10 problems with this claim.
Correction: No idea why I said "attributed to Uthman." There is no Quran that is attributed to Uthman. There is only one claimed to come from the time of Uthman but none of that is verifiable.

Not only that, we’ve gone through so many hardships throughout the history. The Mongols destroyed the Abbasid caliphate and burned the library of Baghdad which was the biggest library in the world if not in history. The same thing happened in Spain. And in the 19th century more 90% of Muslim countries were colonized by non Muslim countries. Yet we still have one version. I mean our enemies could’ve easily sneaked some words and rules in our book. Who would’ve realized that⁉️ . And if someone tried to deny what they could’ve been added to it, their argument would’ve been a clue of not being preserved because we would’ve have had so many groups with different languages arguing about which one is correct and what is not. Which is not the case here. because as I said people were spread all over the map and you know how difficult and long it took to travel from one place to another. @La Tusalih Dear me, go learn how to reason. All you muslims do is beg the question of your choosing. Stop it. If you care about the truth and not your emotions (I understand, I would also like 72 pale virgins to jack me off and kiss me all day but come on), look at this: Mohammed said that Judgment Day would follow shortly after Constantinople fell to Muslims. Muslims failed to capture it. Turks later did. Both of these events dismantle the prophecy. Period. You can choose to believe whatever you want but know that your belief is contradictory to reason. Know also that islam has caused immeasurable pain, suffering, death, rape, and terror and continues to do so. I beg you, be human. Your time to be human is nigh. Islam is about control. Saying that only the afterlife matters and promising you things you can't possibly verify... is deception. Control. A warlord's tactic and rhetoric. Please, man, be a man. Take your family and yourself out of islam. Follow a more noble religion. Be a man i beg you.

@@Struggler410 yes I have. I was expecting a response like the one you gave.
Muslim apologists will go against centuries of Islamic scholarly consensus; they will throw the most highly esteemed scholars under the bus; they will go back and forth with hadiths, trying to discredit the most reputable like Sahih Al Bukhari, and using an obscure reference from a hadith that supports their argument, even though it comes from a questionable hadith and is one assertion against many that agree on the opposite.
This is what you are doing. It is comical to watch Muslim apologists discredit, lie, and misrepresent their own highly respected sources, throw the most highly esteemed scholars under the bus (past and present)-just to "be right" and cover up and uncomfortable truth.
Why? Because Islam is all about deception. And as the deception is being revealed to the general public, and many people are becoming educated about Islam, the apologists are scrambling to explain, justify, and cover up.
The common tactic is to provide a moving target. By constantly trying to redefine what hadiths are reputable. I have heard from many apologists all contradicting each other. You are not the authority on the subject. Neither am I.
Who is the authority? Centuries of Muslim scholars and majority opinion of Muslims who all agree on which hadiths are the most reliable, which ones are not.
Mohammed and his followers including Aisha, who set forth the doctrine of abrogation, and clearly stated events like the one you are trying to deny.
Yes, Mohammed did command women to breastfeed men ten times to negate possible adultery. Not surprising coming from a pervert who consummated a marriage to a nine year old girl.
Yes, those verses and others were eaten by a sheep while Aisha & Co. were mourning the death of Mohammed, due to being poisoned from one of his victims.
But you will probably try to say that he was never poisoned LOL.
I don't care about some refutation. Thats nothing new, as i said before Muslim apologists are pathological liars, especially now that there is public awareness.
There are many examples on here of the most popular muslim apologists telling the most outrageous lies to stadiums full of gullible people who would believe anything they say.
One says that Alexander the Great founded the catholic church in Rome 300 years before Jesus LOL.
Zaker Naik claims that Mohammed is mentioned by name in Song of Songs, in a love poem between king solomon and his wife.
He also claims that the same scriptures have been corrupted, so he needs to explain why he is trying to use "corrupted"scripture to justify Islam.

    1) The names of the persons who corrupted those books
    2) Exactly when did those books get corrupted?
    3) Was Bible corrupted first or was Torah corrupted first? If one was corrupted before another then why God didn't try to preserve the latter?
    4) Why did Islam's God say "I will preserve Quran" when in reality it was humans (Muhammad's companions & students) who memorised it in order to preserve it?

The reason Islam says the Torah and holy Bible are corrupt is because they are doing a defense of the quaran by going on an offense.
The means, the quaran is very flawed and clearly BADLY plagerised with lots of missing important details from both the old and new testament. So to counter that Islam says that the reason it's missing all this info and correct information is not because the quaran is wrong, but rather those other holy books are corrupt and have incorrect and added info that shouldn't be there.
It's rather crudely clever for it's time, by projecting they placed the other faiths on the defensive. Even though we all know(well, mostly all know) that it's definitely the quaran that is poorly written.

I'm all for criticizing Islam, but in order to do that we need to be honest about what Muslims actually say. Muslims don't claim that "all" perfectly preserved books are divine. Muslims don't believe that photo-copies or facsimiles, for example, have anything to do with the supernatural. Muslims make a distinction between ordinary texts (like Mein Kampf) and the text of the Quran, because the Quran (unlike most other books) actually claims to be divine. Thus, the preservation of the Quran could be evidence in favor of that claim (i.e. perfect preservation is a necessary, though not a sufficient, condition for divinity). By the same token, consider the following sentence:
      1. If Jake goes outside today, then Jake will play baseball.
This applies to Jake, and only to Jake. Playing baseball is a necessary condition for his being outside (i.e. if he doesn't intend to play baseball, then he definitely won't go outside). We can't say that "everyone" who goes outside today will likewise play baseball, just as the Muslim claim about the Qur'an says nothing about the status of other books.

There was a verse in the Qur'an when a lot of muslims kept coming to the house of Mohammad for food and he was not comfortable with them staying longer after eating but was shy to tell them off. It was Allah who now send down additional page of the Qur'an, telling Gabriel to tell Mohammad to tell the people that he (Mohammad) was not pleased with the people coming and not leaving on time, but was very shy to say it. So the people should leave immediately after eating.

I love these philosophical questions! Well let see if God were perfect but mankind is flawed(let's say for arguments sake due to original sin). Then anything in contact with mankind can be interpreted incorrectly (either on purpose or accidental). But if God is perfect then anything he created within his realm remains perfect.
So a holy book created or thought up by God in his heavenly realm stays perfect but once that said book is given to mankind in our own physical existence, then said book is prey to corruption of any kind, whether it be physical or interpretive, etc...
So technically you can still keep the idea that God is perfect, but that a now flawed mankind can render things corrupted.

We would’ve had so many versions and it doesn’t matter which one is authentic. as matter of fact this is what happened to the Christians and the Jews when the Romans and Bakhnsar took over Jerusalem one after another.
The content of that verse you mentioned is known it’s not lost. however, the story is not authentic.

I'm all for criticizing Islam, but in order to do that we need to be honest about what Muslims actually say. Muslims don't claim that "all" perfectly preserved books are divine. Muslims don't believe that photo-copies or facsimiles, for example, have anything to do with the supernatural. Muslims make a distinction between ordinary texts (like the works of Dumas) and the text of the Quran because the Quran (unlike most other books) actually claims to be divine. Thus, the preservation of the Quran could be evidence in favor of that claim (i.e. perfect preservation is a necessary, though not a sufficient, condition for divinity). By the same token, consider the following sentence:
      1. If Jake goes outside today, then Jake will play baseball.
This only applies to Jake. Playing baseball is a necessary condition for his being outside (i.e. if he doesn't intend to play baseball, then he definitely won't go outside).
Yet, clearly, this doesn't imply that "everyone" who goes outside today will likewise play baseball, just as the Muslim claim about the Qur'an says nothing about the status any other book.

      Updated Aug 19, 2020
There are currently 30+ different versions/readings/Qira'ats/ Qurans that exist in the world today.
A Qira'at, in regards to the Quran, is an iteration of the text done by a group of scholars; there were 30 popular ones in Islam.
10 were ‘official readers’ and another 20 were students who worked underneath the readers, known as ‘transmitters’.
They were responsible for looking closely into the 'rasm' (The skeletal structure of the text) and then determined where to put dots and vowels into different places.
Here is a list of the 10 readers
      Nafi al-Madani (d. 785 AD)
Ibn Kathir al Makki (d. 738 AD)
      Abu'Amr Ibn al-'Ala (d. 770 AD)
      Ibn Amir ad-Dimashqi (d. 736 AD)
      Aasim Ibn Abi al-Najud (d. 745 AD)
      Hamzah az-Zalyyat (d. 773 AD)
      Al-Kisa'i (d. 804 AD)
      Abu Ja'far (Medina - d. 748 AD)
      Ya'qub al-Yamani (Basra - d. 821 AD)
      Khalaf (Kufa - 844 AD)
The following is a list of the transmitters
      Qalun (835 AD)
      Al-Bazzi (d. 864 AD)
      Al-Duri (d. 860)
      Hisham (d.859 AD)
      Shu'bah (d. 809 AD)
      Khalaf (d. 844 AD)
      Al-Layth (d. 854 AD)
Isa ibn Wardan (d. 777 AD)
      Ruways (d. 853 AD)
      Ishaq (d. 899 AD)
      Warsh (812 AD)
      Qunbul (d. 904 AD)
      Al-Susi (d. 874 AD)
      Ibn Dhakwan (d. 856 AD)
      Hafs (d. 796 AD)
      Khallad (d. 835 AD)
      Al-Duri (d. 860 AD)
      Ibn Jummaz (d. 787 AD)
      Rawh (d. 849 AD)
      Idris (d. 905 AD)
You are able to order any of these online.
Among all these different Qira'ats, there is an overwhelming 93,000 differences.
The one chosen to be the standard Qira'at was Hafs, in 1924. Hafs was a student/transmitter who died in 796 AD. He lived in Kufa.
Futhermore, Hafs was not even one of the 'Readers', nor did he live alongside the prophet Muhammad, nor during the time of King Uthman.
Muhammand Al-Hussaini al-Hadad an Egyptian teacher at the University in Cairo, was asked by the Bureau of Education there, to choose ‘one’ of the Qira'ats as the authoritative one.
      He chose Hafs.
His credentials are not known, and no one seems to know why he chose Hafs. This took place in 1924.
The “1400 year old Uthman argument” has only been around for 100 years. It is a recent argument which is currently falling to pieces, since it is utterly failing the test of ‘Historical Criticism’.
The list above, alone, proves this matter, and unfortunately the number of different Qira'ats/Qurans continues to rise as they are being discovered and reported.
In 2016, 26 different Qurans were discovered by Hatun Tash, whom later presented them at the 'Speakers Corner' in London England with the help of Dr. Jay Smith.
They faced heavy opposition despite the clear evidence they had in their hands.
These 2 professionals have devoted many years studying the history of Islam and the authenticity of the Quran. Dr. Jay Smith began his scholarly research in this area during his time in India, and officially began taking on this issue in a public setting since 1995, starting with a debate in Cambridge.
Their findings are a phenomenal breakthrough.
No Muslim has confronted the ‘textual historical analysis’ of the Quran. The 6 manuscripts, each located in their respected places, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Paris, London, Egypt, and Yemen, were never challenged in the field of Academia until 2002-2007, by two Muslim scholars.

Hi AP! Have you taken a look at Marijn van Putten’s recent Twitter thread on Q 19:26? He demonstrates that the variant found in the San’aa Palimpsest is either the original, or something closer to the original, compared to what we have in today’s ‘Uthmaanic rasm (text). It’s quite explosive stuff.

"Muhammad received the Word of God for those people at that time, at a time very different from the time that you are living in today. It was a Message for that time, but it also contained the seeds of greater wisdom and compassion, much of which has been fortunately preserved.
But Muhammad did not compile the Qur’an as he was charged to do, for he perished and died before it could be completed. It was, therefore, assembled by different individuals who had different intentions, and the great Suras of personal revelation were left out. Islam became a religion of obedience and submission, which were necessary at that time especially. But the revelations of personal realization and the Love of God were not included.
It is a problem, you see, a tragedy in its own right, that the great religions were established beyond the lifetime of the great Messengers, a problem that has been repeated many times with many unfortunate consequences."

The advert at the beginning saying Mohamed was sent as a mercy to the world cracked me up. Apparently he always ate last, thinking of others first. Shame he didn’t think one way to put others first was not to take advantage of people including a 6 year old girl (going on to defile her when she was just 9). If this doesn’t shock you, you should have your head examined.

Think about it. The Islamic empire were so big from Morocco to Indonesia. And not all of Muslims spoke Arabic. We had so many different languages. We would’ve had so many versions and it doesn’t matter which one is authentic. as matter of fact this is what happened to the Christians and the Jews when the Romans and Bakhnsar took over Jerusalem one after another.

From religious point of view God is almighty and he can create everything out of nothing so why he can’t create understandable book or message that everyone could comprehend without playing believe or not believe
