That bus driver in Godzilla is a goddamn hero. He saw a giant dinosaur lizard monster thing that was hundreds of meters tall, which the military couldn't do anything against and instead of panicking he kept himself together to save the kids on the bus

Godzilla 2014 has the best one, as it doesn’t just show instant destruction. You also see Godzilla trying to be friendly (hard to be friendly when you are the size of a skyscraper and you are surrounded by warships) And humanity actually defends instantly, Pacific rim is good but you see instant bridge destruction
its also the only modern movie where the bridge isnt completely in ruins
To be fair, the one in Pacific Rim is part of a recap. They didn't have much time to properly destroy it because there was a movie to explain

Golden gate bridge in action movies: my time has come
Chronology: A giant octopus tried to destroy the bridge in 1955 but only destroyed a small part, and it was fixed in a few months. In 2003, thanks to the core cooling down (somehow), the magnetosphere no longer exists and a solar flare melted the Golden Gate Bridge. After the core was reignited with nuclear bombs, the bridge was rebuilt. After shocks from the reigniting of the core caused the bridge to collapse once again from an earthquake. The bridge was again rebuilt. An alien probe destroys the bridge in 2009, and was rebuilt in a few months for then another event to happen the same year that destroyed the bridge. In 2010, the bridge was once again destroyed thanks to a meteor strike. In 2014, Godzilla broke the bridge because of course he did. In 2015, another earthquake causes a big boat and a tsunami to strike the red bridge that for some reason is named Golden Gate. In 2020, a giant Kaiju from deep within the sea just decides to destroy the bridge for no reason whatsoever other than his creators said so. In 2028, the terminators destroy the entire fricking world, not just the bridge. The creators just decided that the bridge had no reason o exist because it was always destroyed. They decided to instead use big boats.
