I couldn’t believe when he shot. I guess when you don’t care about shot placement, or possibly keeping any of the meat, as long as you got antlers to show for it in the end, who cares.

@@riodj80exactly what I thought of too. They spend like, 25-Gs on a hunt and can’t even be bothered to keep the meat? Blows my mind that so many folks just care about a rack on the wall.

So what did that hunt cost? Is it something regular folks could ever aspire to do?
A hunt on a private ranch like this one would run you ~12-15k. Of course, no guarantee you'd even see a buck of this caliber, let alone kill one.

"R&K Hunting Co" tells you everything you need to know. All private land, with people who live with the deer, pointing you to them... all for about what? $20k.?
This is not even close to typical Utah hunting. And calling it "high country" when youre back to the cabin each night is misleading.
Where I come from we call that "The Ohio Heart Shot" straight up the o ring. You are really lucky I would have never taken that shot in my book not ethical. Furthermore irresponsible to put up on the internet for guys who dont know any better to see and encourage to shoot at anything.
