not a crap version of a brilliant song but a incredibly hauntingly beatiful version of a brilliant song.. a few times a cover is better then the original and this is one of these because: 1. Gordon Sharp interprets this with so much transport 2. The cello's bow slides on my heart, every time.. 3. Time it stops everytime during the play of this song.
I got album 'It'll end in tears' from my ex boyfriend. Two weeks after we weren't together already. He was an audiophile and still tortured me with this song. Actually, when I'm hearing it, I remember that everything is so fragile and elusive. Love above all. It sad.

Yeah, that's an 8 string bass. Hagstrom were real famous for making them. You could get a similar effect with a chorus pedal, if one was so inclined. (Which is what I thought it was before you guys mentioned it.)
