    This singer is called Gordon Sharp,he comes from an obscure band,Cindytalk.He also collaborated with his unique voice to the 12" by This Mortal Coil "Sixteen days/Gathering Dust".
    Wonderful voice.
    Gordon Sharp is one of the greatest unknown singers of the world.

    @easytears Před 17 lety +1

    not a crap version of a brilliant song but a incredibly hauntingly beatiful version of a brilliant song.. a few times a cover is better then the original and this is one of these because:
    1. Gordon Sharp interprets this with so much transport
    2. The cello's bow slides on my heart, every time..
    3. Time it stops everytime during the play of this song.

    I got album 'It'll end in tears' from my ex boyfriend. Two weeks after we weren't together already. He was an audiophile and still tortured me with this song. Actually, when I'm hearing it, I remember that everything is so fragile and elusive. Love above all. It sad.

    There are very few moments in Pop history where a cover reaches the heights of the original but this TMC version of one the true classic songs of alltime does it with flying colors.

    It's supposedly a phrase from the American south....any sentence that ends with "you," you then follow up with "like a kangaroo." i.e., "I see you/like a kangaroo", "I heard you/like a kangaroo", or, as in the song, "Oh, I want you/like a kangaroo."

    Yeah, that's an 8 string bass. Hagstrom were real famous for making them. You could get a similar effect with a chorus pedal, if one was so inclined. (Which is what I thought it was before you guys mentioned it.)

This Mortal Coils album I only bought because I needed to have their version of "Song to the Siren" This cover was the first song and to be honest i used to skip it automatically but I heard the string part (1:54 - 2:28 ) one nite on e and it changed everything
