I towed more than 10 cars on snowy, icy and dry conditions with my A4 V6 Quattro with manual transmission over the years. Still original clutch and gearbox 22 years later and the car is in daily use today. I once helped a friend out towing a Nissan Bluebird that wouldn't start (it had been sitting for a few months). This was on dry asphalt. I noticed it felt surprisingly heavy to begin with. About 100 meters down the road the guy started flashing his headlights at me and it turned out his rear brakes were still locked up...
i drove for 80km with a rusted on handbrake. when i stopped the rear wheel and hub were so hot it was smoking and the tire was bubbling on the sides. it was my first time driving a manual car and i thought that the front going down each time i started from a stop to be normal. Hahaha

One guy came with X5 and he couldn't do much so I offered assistance with A8 4e on new Falken HS01 tyres 80€ a pop I paid those let me tell you. I pulled that tractor, his plow and all the snow he pilled while plowing. As I was the hero of the moment a beautiful princess came around the corner and jumped in my lap. That's the life of quattro owners.
Either the x5 had summer tires or this did not exist. Like all these German all wheel drive systems are great and subaru has a wicked one aswell. Quattro and xdrive work very well and will get in and out of situations easily. So just stop this xdrive and quatttro argument. They ate both good systems.

Pavel Beloborodov oil ducts tend to malfunction, oil pump is prone to failure due to faulty intake, oil pans are eager to wear prematurely, valve cams are to blame too I wanted to swap this engine to my ride. Read before you speak, kid
i put a set of cam shafts in mine , ,,, due to audis silly long life maintenance schedule , that was a hundred thousand miles ago , now with over 350 000 miles on it , no bother . its still on the original exhaust too. uses no oil , looses no water , just starts and drives. one of the best engines out there killed by a silly service schedule. granted im on my fifth compressor for the suspension though , lol.
