I had 2002 V70 D5 with automatiic transmission, only 2WD and it went up a little snowy about 20 degree wet clay hill in "L" gear so it was a 2nd gear and there was no wheel spin... I was shocked... Good winter tires of course. So... Automatic gear box can do thimgs, not all of course...
Yes they can, most of the engines here, atleast all the SUVs had a supercharged 3.0, the one against the jeep was a turbo 3.0. Bulletproof engine with alot of power along with the drive train. Its crazy awesome, atleast 2014 or newer. I know as I have 2, a a6 and a sq5 both 2015's

Stay on the brake until the other vehicle starts slipping, apply throttle with measured use of the brake and clutch and wait for the win.
