New Vegas wasn't made by Bethesda, neither were the Brahmin called Brahmin by Bethesda, they were called Brahmin in Fallout 1 and 2

The funny thing about New Vegas is that since it's a desert, you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference if it were nuked or not. I searched up pictures of the real life locations referenced in game, and to my amusement they looked just like they do in the game. Deserts, deserts never change.

12 made it through his defenses, and 11 detonated. i think it was because he did not have the platinum chip to up grade hid defenses, if he did all of the Mojave would be Paradise

This explains so much! I remember seeing Stockholm on the ground outside megaton during one of my playthroughs (probably due to a glitch) and nobody believed that he existed. He weirded me out when he said "How did you get up here anyway?" So I assumed he meant how did you get out of the vault since it was underground and I'd just escaped 101. Everything makes sense once more!!

Just found this out yesterday. If you take the Contract Killer Perk, Talon Company Hitman won't come looking for you regardless of how high of a karma level you have. This also applies to the Lawbringer Perk, regardless of your low karma level, Regulators won't come looking for you if you take this Perk.

P.S : Fallout NV is better in many aspects, but Fallout 3 is more survival oriented and has very few places which serve no purpose and puzzle the person playing the game, like Lone Wolf Radio Station, and places like Goodsprings or Primm which only have one purpose, to push you to Vegas, which isn't the most interesting place in the Mojave

Most people who like FO:NV more is because they like the RPG aspects. which are better then anything Bethesda can do. I on the other hand like lots of side quest so FO3 ftw I liked both stories however

You can get the house accessories free. To do so, enter Craterside Supply then go to the wall in front of the stairs that lead to the upper floor. If you use the 3rd-person camera rotation exploit you will find there is a locker behind the wall. Inside are the house accessories. Also making explosives one of your tag skills makes it really easy to get the house right at the beginning of the game.

Fallout: New Vegas was pretty much the spiritual successor to Fallout 2. Seeing as Obsidian is made up of old Interplay members, and that is contains many of the old factions and such.
It's amazing that they made such a great game in what little time they had too.
Somebody give Obsidian another Fallout game, and all the time they need, and they'd probably blow Fallout 4 out of the water.

Yes..............................but technically if your think about it their are 3 stories happening at the same time (sorta) so fallout 1,2, and new Vegas are the westside story, the tactic series is the Mideast story and fallout 3 and 4 is east so yeah 3 stories and game sequels that they can make hopefully we get other controls beside America like England or China or Russia

brandonburnes I went into Fallout 3 completely blind. I was wondering the Wasteland looking for supplies and found Andale. I knew something was up. Once I found out they were cannibals, I killed them all. One of my fondest Fallout memories.
Crispy Biscuit I remember my first trip there, as well. I actually ran the fuck away because I knew something bad was going to happen and the first person I met was the dude that was like "Get away from here!" It wasn't until I returned that I realized what the deal was. Almost shit myself when I left that basement and they were all standing there. Not one moment in New Vegas topped that feeling and those moments in Fallout 3 are almost nonstop.

Joseph Stephens New Vegas is objectively the better game, but there is NOTHING saying a person can't nor shouldn't like Fallout 3 more.
Epsilon9 New Vegas isn't objectively better. It's objectively a refined and fluffed up expansion pack for Todd Howard's RPG masterpiece. Obsidian spent more time on the gameplay and added lots of bells and whistle, fluff, etc. but they told a completely different story and created a completely different gameworld. I think New Vegas is your subjective favorite because these tweaks gave you a more enjoyable experience. Objectively, I'd say Fallout 3, the creation of it's engine, and the original execution of Todd Howard's idea, gave us possibly the best gameworld and many of the best storylines in RPG history. The layout of D.C. and the Capital Wasteland was just far more creative and well done than the Mojave. It's obvious more time was spent, but if you read up on the development process you don't even have to play the two games to understand the difference in time and effort. Old World Blues is the best Fallout DLC, however.
Max Kennedy So taking the original and refining it and adding more to it isn't making it better? The combat is better, the speech system is better, the companions are way better in every respect and it does a better job of merging story with player freedom. Saying the DC wasteland is better than the Mojave is subjective. The only thing 3 did better was the sidequests. 3 was a mined diamond, NV is that diamond after its been refined. 4 should refine it even further.
And, personally, 3 and NV are vanilla and chocolate, to me. I love them equally but prefer them on different days.
Epsilon9 Personally, I agree. But Fallout 4 isn't refining it further, it's a completely new masterpiece. It makes NV look like an expansion pack.
Max Kennedy Fallout 4 is definitely trying new things, what with the voiced protag. and getting rid of skills, but it also takes some cues from NV. Like unkillable companions, modding weapons (as opposed to building a handful of weapons from scratch, like in 3), and Wasteland Defense, which is a NV mod. Obviously they're not going to mention NV because it was made by another studio, but you know Howard's team looked at what fans thought of it every bit as much as 3.

Bernado Garay A return to the more nostalgic groups such as the Khans, the NCR, and Caesars legions, which to anyone who played the previous three games this works as a massive nostalgia bonus. To others it's simply a better game with better content but for me it's mostly the nostalgia. F3 does not really connect that well to the older games, and the story is very short and cuts off too fast in a very cheap ending.

That really depends on who you ask. Me, I prefer New Vegas because I had greater freedom in defining who my character was, what he was like and what his motivations are. Other points would be better companion characters; that you are completely free to choose who you want to support; and that the environment simply makes more sense IMO.
there's a way up if you jump precariously in one spot for hours while inside megaton, thought his unique dialogue was classic for certain, also if you do this in megaton you can get outside and all the barriers and ground is loaded just not the textures, was interesting walking into the textureless wasteland hahah

Tario I think its more because people don't understand the differences between development studio, publisher, and third party developers. I also think its more because Bethesda made the engine that NV used.

New Vegas is better though
Fallout 3 was always special to me, played it in middleschool and only that game. Than it got me into the franchise and although i love and started on 3, i appreciate the gameplay and story of all of them. And even though 3 instilled alot of fear into me at certain points because of the atmosphere and playing at night while exploreing metros with ghouls and mutants and many of the other shit. Its really grungy to me fits the whole wasteland theme and how everything seems dark and bleak. everything is damn near destroyed and decaying and your looting the corpses of these buildings. But although new vegas lacks this in the majority of locations because its all just fukn sand n rocks + house protecting most of new vegas. It does lose that but it more than makes up for it with storytelling and the charectors and all the added lore. When i first walked into nipton and encountered vulpes i legit felt fear from him and the way his character talked and explained away what transpired. He was evil to me and i was afraid of that fictional character at the time. No written character in fallout 3 ever made me feel that kind of weight and it was just greatly set up, walking into that town with people mounted on crosses. And walking up to those masked men in red only to stop and wonder if their going to be my enemys and feel slight panic as vulpes slowly approaches me. Story wise i love new vegas and its only better than fallout 3 in that aspect because theyve had more time and just reused their engine to expand on it makeing improvements and a new game along the way. With that said im currently replaying 3.

NinjaFawful 3 has horrible gameplay mechanics though. The shooting feels so awful that I always end up resorting to VATS. Kind of ruins the game for me.
Combat in New vegas was identical to fallout 3 I don't understand why peo say that and vats is just as annoying in New vegas too.
dylan light New Vegas gunwork was a lot smoother and faster. And iron sights! When I played New Vegas I almost never felt cornered into having to use VATS.

Three is way better than new Vegas
Three has terrible writing, and it doesn't have proper choices and consequences. Bethesda also shat on the Fallout lore in multiple areas, for example, Super Mutants being on the East Coast, when all FEV-related research was moved to the West before the war. Also, why are Super Mutants dumb and aggressive (except for Fawkes & Uncle Leo)? The only reason they were aggressive in Fallout 1 was because they were brainwashed by The Master to want to assimilate all humans. In Fallout 2, you meet a few Super Mutants who have been cooperating with humans since the Master's demise.
New Vegas has followed Fallout Lore much closer, the writing actually makes sense, and there are a lot more choices and consequences.

You can actually reach Stockholme when climbing the Megaton walls from the inside - along with other locations which are hidden to those who don't try.
