  • I built my basic scissor lift table out of 2.5"x2.5"x3/16" angle iron, 2"x3/8" flat bar, 1/2" threaded rod/bolts, 2.5" cast iron wheels, and 3" castors. I used a mechanical screw drive for its simplicity and reliability over speed.

    This is great and can be adapted to lift the roof of a tiny house for more head space in the loft. Thanks for sharing!

    Ideal. When you're building for a single purpose it's important to build as simple as possible. Now, can you come over to my place to help my lift a new "above the range microwave" into place so we can make the attachment? I can sweep out your shop in exchange . . .

    what is the max load? can it lift a transmission?

    • @UnsanctionedFabrication
      @UnsanctionedFabrication  Před 8 lety +1

      I know it can lift 500lbs no problem. I limit it to 800lbs max with a even/centered load, and 400lbs max at maximum height because of the cantilevered design. Sure it probably can handle a lot more but I'm not destroying just to test it limitations! :)

    By the way this Not your design.First off this design has been around longer than you even appear to be(over 50 +yrs.). It's a very easy concept design that has been configured in so many ways.

    • @UnsanctionedFabrication
      @UnsanctionedFabrication  Před 3 lety

      I think you mean that I didn't invent it, but this is certainly my design. I designed my cart with odd sized surplus material, and I'm not taking liability for someone hurting themselves trying to copy my design. There can be thousands of different designs based on one invention, but if someone copies a design than it's a copy. Thanks for watching and good luck if you're building a cart!
