I love exploring old houses.
I don’t know if you’re aware of this
but when I was a kid and first got into
metal detecting, I met this old timer who
told me that whenever I’m exploring an old
house, make certain to check out the old fuse
box.
Back in the day if a fuse would blow often times
instead of replacing it with another fuse, they would
just put a Copper Wheat Penny or an Indian Head Penny
to save money or if they didn’t have a replacement fuse.
I’ve found several Indians and Wheaties this way...!

That "Rings O'Romance" is from Benjamin & Edward J. Gross Co., Inc., New York, New York. Approximate years of business was 1920 to 1950. Would date this piece around 1940. Just in case anyone was wondering.

When i was young we tore down barns for the lumber, I tell you i preferred using the square nails they held a lot better and wouldn't bend. The lumber was fantastic!!!

1912 back when titanic sank!! Lol no way.
Our house was built in 1912 in east Texas but it is in SO much better condition as it as been lived in continuously since when it was built and is STILL being lived in. Two families have lived in this house…the Price family from 1912 until when we bought it in 1988. The Price family raised 4 children here and we have raised 6 daughters here. I love our old house.
