Is Amored Core Worth Buying?

- Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon has been out for weeks now and has been shaping up to be an impressive title despite my history with not having played the previous Armored Core games. This is my experience after 6+ hours of gameplay and an analysis from the perspective of a Dark Souls fan as well as someone that had no idea what to expect at all. I have 3 tips for playing the game:
My biggest tip for this game will be the same for all Souls games, hell, all games in general: Do *not* search anything up about it.
If you are facing a difficult challenge the reward comes from your own problem solving. If you overcome a level, boss or whatever is in your way through your own means, the satisfaction will leave you proud. However, if you are search up the best build in the game because you're stuck on a hill, the rest of the entire experience will bleed from that point on. You are at the mercy of "the META" at that point. And, sadly, it's quite difficult to stray away from such a good strategy if it works so well.
My second tip: Experiment.
A huge part of the fun in this game comes from you slapping 4 bazooka's on a tank or flamethrowers on quad legs to see if it can deal with the enemy ahead, and you'd be surprised how effective different strategies can be. If you discover an over-powered weapon accidentally or while attempting to create a good build, at the very least you can honour yourself in figuring it out. Though, once you're comfortable with a build it will be difficult to switch.
In the end, you decide how you play. If you want to make a light-weight zooming build with lazer cannons because you think it's cool, then you'll love the game when you beat it that way.
If you're someone that struggles with these types of games and doesn't mind searching up a guide, just know you're robbing yourself from an incredible experience. I would love for everyone to go through this game blind as I personally think it's phenomenal.
Finally: Enjoy the story.
Raven's journey through this game is personally my favourite story from all the AC's. The characters are all so iconic and well written, the plot twists and development of the plot is a joy to experience. From reviews I see many people brush over it, I would love to emphasize it's value to the overall experience as I dare say it was my favourite part of the game.

My trust in FromSoft is so high that I will play anything they make. I have never been a mech guy, but I’ve already gotten 100% achievements in this game, S rank on every mission. Game is a blast, and the story and different endings and characters are surprisingly a strong point, although some would disagree.
i'll second this. story is short like sekiro and so damn memorable. it makes me wonder what will happened in Armored Core 7... i want more!
let's hope it came out faster. not in another 10 years.

Playing the game enough to get all three endings is 100% worth it. There are a few missions and parts you'll never see unless you play NG+ and NG++.
Overall I had a great time with the game. The biggest hurdle for a AC noob like myself was the controls. Once I had clocked enough hours to get a handle on everything the game felt amazing. Enjoyed it enough to get all 3 endings.
I really hope they give us some expansions because I'd love some more missions to beat.
Yeah. Never played NG+ in DS3, sekiro or Elden ring. On armored core 6 it's a must though, you didnt really finish the game if you didnt get the NG++ exclusive ending
I'll definitely replay this game several times by which I mean getting to NG++ from fresh saves each time.
I never played the previous titles either but I was absolutely blown away by the fun gameplay, the customizability options and the incredibly beautiful sceneries
I think you’ll have a different opinion of the story once you finish NG++
Literally love this game. Loved all the mech assault games as a kid and enjoyed mech anime’s

I will note that not only are there multiple endings, you're not replaying the game 3 times so that you can get different endings while playing through the same game. NG+ adds a handful of missions, new arena battles, new parts, etc. NG++, however, is like another 1/3-1/2 slapped onto the game, because somewhere in that range of the missions you play on NG++ will be new missions throwing end game enemies at you in chapter 1 or having you 1v3 ACs. Plus, NG++ contains some of the coolest loot in the game.
I clocked about 30 hours to finish NG, and then another 25ish to finish NG+ and NG++.
I reordered the game with no regrets.
In my second play trough right now and still having an blast.
I only wish the game was a bit harder or had deeper mechanics at some points
Finished it three times and reached all endings, still enjoy just jumping around. Can't wait DLC
I plan to buy this game when it goes on sale. Unfortunately times are tough for me, so I don't have the extra cash at the moment to buy a full price game.

It would be nice to see some npc runs. Playing like rusty, nightfall etc.

The thing is from soft games are just build different, I always like the clean layout for menu, HUD etc.
plus a little bit of mystery.
A friend of mine is ac veteran so I already was familiar to the genre but the controls are just weird so I never picked it up on my own.
But this game slaps
Most definitely. I hated mechs before ac6 but beat all the endings got all the parts every combat log and I still can't stop playing. Full coral is my favourite build.
As someone who has all 3 endings trust me this shit gets even better
AC6 is a nice game it was hard at first till you learn the controlls, have better parts, and gain experience, ive already finished the 2 endings, and what i can say, equipment, and knowledge will carry you, its a very nice game for those people who would look forward to customisation, but during my play, i have experience something that happened to me in ACFA (armored core for answer) that you can skip the brefing if you remeber it and pay no mind to the dialogue, un like in AC where the befing tells you that generators will explode if they get hit, and advice you during the mission to only use melee, lol.
Another banger . They may be going for three GOTY releases in a row !
I'm not good at twitchy fps games, and thats kind of what this is with mech customization. Personally, i don't enjoy it, but i can see people that like cod or fortnight really enjoying this
I had the opposite problem, the game feels too sluggish and slow to me

i love everything about that game and my first playthrough with everything that was available to do took almost exactly 35 hours.
but i think the game is about 20 bucks too expensive for the amount of content you get.
compare it to dark souls 2. same price, triple the length for new players
im right now playing starfield. same price, clocked 90 hours and havent even touched the main story yet.
for 40$ it would be a 10/10
for the 60 they are asking its a 7/10

I tried man i just couldnt get into it. Im more of a fantasy guy than a sci-fi mech guy. Thats why i cant get into Starfield but i like Baldurs gate
I don’t know why the story is complained about so much…. I would argue that it’s on par with the souls games stories
I bought it but regret it, I'd recommend if they fix the BUG where you cant pickup ammo (yes this is huge glaring bug, its a video game FFS)... Not until then. A mech game trying to be realistic.... comedy gold there.

Who in all heck pirates a game AND THEN decides to buy it? Pirating is lame. There are plenty of videos out there that will give you more than enough of an idea whether or not you'll enjoy AC6.
