It might be a conversion guitar, but that is one sexy Les Paul nonetheless, man..
8:15 "unless something major happens" Ends up working in Gibson
I thought the very same thing.
Doubt they give original Bursts to their employees though! Could be wrong...
@@Johnlemmo451 they don’t, trust me, I would know 😂
@@johnnyandhiswolves you used to work there?
@@Johnlemmo451 still do 😎
I miss Agnesi on the guitar of the day
Lemmo is a better player but Mark had more knowledge of the guitars.
@@PaulieHo Lemmo is annoying with all that reverb all the time
@@PaulieHo Lemmo is not a better player.
Lemmo is overrated 😴
I don't care what year it is. I wish it was mine.
That Marshall sounds like it's underwater.
worse than that even !
iphone mic and then they move all over the place. I'm always thinking they need to get a proper stereo recording setup. Even a ~$300 Zoom H6 would be a massive upgrade.
This is by far the most coolest, wicked GotD video presentation yet. Stunning explanation, Mark. The mystery is what gives this axe character & personality. Nice goin', Jen & Mark...
It’s a ‘78 Ibanez!
LOL, I have one of those. I took the p/u covers off though so now what? Should I still try to sell it as a 78 or can I fool an expert?
Ibanez Lawsuit era! I got one too! SG Super77! lol
nah..it would sound better:D
Notice the Gibson logo is right on the edge of the headstock which leads me to believe it is a ‘68 that has had the headstock trimmed.
Super cool! I love that you brought the Marshall amp from home to get that classic combo sound. It has been a long time since you've Rock and Rolled.
I have just been educated by mark on conversion Les Pauls. What an awesome and original guitar of the day good work Jen and Mark!
Sounds KILLER!!! That conversion
With the Marshall..........DEADLY....🎸❤
Those pickups .....that sound.....that’s rock and roll...wow just wow
I love strats but I thoroughly enjoyed this episode
Good lord do I love that guitar!! Why can’t they give that away in a contest.
Thanks for the shout out Mark!
Man love it. Nice colors. Marshal and Les Paul. A true rock n Roll sound.
Your right it does have that sound. Mark- you and that les Paul play well together Bro.
Mark, this guitar rocks! If someone is looking out for a cool vibe and price, which will not have him/her paying a new mortgage - then that is it. I was never such a big fan of the shape, but the instrument is top! Great show as always!!!
dang does that sound right! good stuff man. looks and sounds original as can be. rad.
So does the neck feel like a ‘59 or a chunky earlier year?
Sweet @ss narrative. Great story, thanks Mark!
That bridge pickup, yeah, baby ... Don't know about that amp, though. Cool and excellent
guitar.
I love how mark yells when he gets done playing a riff
Sounds pretty great to me, especially Tush. I find the idea of a conversion really interesting and think its a great idea. I own an SG from 2004, not vintage but sounds pretty good. Has anything ever been done conversion wise with a SG? I've seen loads of Les Pauls to 59s, but what year would you do that for an SG? Interested in customising mine in someway be it converting or adding a bigsby and some old pickups maybe. Thoughts guys at Norms? Thoughts anyone else? Any input would be great..
Beautiful music during the "backroom part" of the video!
PAFs and a marshall is my type of heaven!! 😍😍
Awesome as always. Happy weekend to you all. See you Tuesday
Oh man just a beautiful guitar, Don't know what it is but its just awesome
Nice axe to show me on my birthday. June 9 was Les Paul's b-day as well.
Appreciate the honesty, Mark. More than a few unscrupulous types would pass it as legit & sell it as such in this day and age.
Looks like one of the pre Historic LPs from the early 80s. Trogly's guitar show has had one or two. Go check his channel out.
Chables probably one of those but why would they not have the serial # accurate
10,000 views in 5 hours Mark,
Killing it, just killing it..
Congratulations Jen, great production.. Where would he be without your goodbyes..
Throw plectrum in crowd..
Walk off...
Love from Nepal Mark and Jen!
why would you convert a ‘54 Les Paul with P-90 pickups?
this. give me the the gold top over this anyday
Bruce Spruce PAF pickups are really cool. don’t get me wrong. Old school Gibson P-90 pickups kick more ass.
Because humbuckers are better
@@3badthebad that’s the common conception, but honestly the p90s really do sound better
Mark is the Coolest I like is Style so much so Happy how is part is Gibson now such a Honour for his career !!! Respect.
Yeah, that won't be around for very long. Don't think too hard about this one. Congrats to the next guardian of this one. Awesome guitar!
Les Paul and Marshall....classic pairing. Killer straterday!!!
Tomorrow you gotta play some Kirwan era Fleetwood Mac
Quite like the mystery element, and it sounds good!
That's what rock and roll sounds like. We need a Les Paul day.
I appreciate the honesty here but love that 'Paul.
Flip, that thing through the marshall. That's the sound man. Totally unreal.
Thats awesome!!!!!
A mystery guitar...I'm into it! I'm really curious how they'll put a price/value on it. Rock & Roll!
Rock Hard Riffs probably still more than any of us can afford lol.
I saw one of these in the late 70's. It was probably a 54 or 55 converted to 57 specs with old paf pickups. Still a goldtop. Only $1000. One of the dozen or so that got away that I still pine for.
The Les Paul sounded amazing through that Marshall!
There was a luthier, out of Chicago, that was known for doing Les Paul conversions. Jim Beach, most famous for making some of the original Hamer guitars.
That LP is cool, for sure! Sounds like a LP should, really strong and plenty of body. Great choice of tunes for the PU demo's.
That guitar will be gone before lunch on Monday!
I dunno dude, sounds like you've never heard what a LP should sound like if you think this sounds superb
People should the P-90’s. They’re great. It’s like why man.
Great song choices
Saw your t-shirts online how come there isn't one that says all controls at noon with a little bit of Reverb?
Bron did come to LA. Good call. Also you're a little bit closer to that PAF les paul working for Gibson!
What a beauty
This is good!
That’s the best color I’ve ever seen on a les Paul
Great guitar, what did it go for?
Hard to judge the sound accurately ‘cuz Mark is using a different amp than usual, but with what we’ve got to go by everything sounds pretty damn dark to me. PAFs typically have a lot more bite than this…though not always. And Marshall 18 watters have crisp treble response too…though they get mid-y when you crank ‘em way up.
So…who knows? I know I’d be more interested if the guitar still had its original P-90s. The older I get the more I like ‘em, especially all the blends you can get with both pickups going.
Even so it’d be fun to give a guitar like this a spin through my own setup.
I love P90's
Now that's a set list.
Great song choice today
Best ever song selection
Lay's guitar does those conversions.
Should the pickguard have a slotted head for the period?
Amazing is beautifull guitar
very curious indeed , doesn't really sound like a 59' burst but it does sound like a les paul , and I luv a les paul , so who cares if it is or not , it's got a lot of the right parts , some very nice wood grain , and it kicks ass , get demo mark , great GOTD , rock on dude
What camera gear u using???
1. ZZ Top-Tush
2. Free-All Right Now
3. Led Zeppelin-Rock and Roll
really.....you couldn't get rock and roll...by Led Zepplin
3. Rock 'n' Roll-Led Zeppelin
3. Led Zeppelin- Rock and Roll.
Zepplin Rock and Roll
Im confused. Was the third one Led ///zepplin by Rock and Roll?
Personally I love the look of this Les Paul !
It wouldn’t be a burst if it could stay in tune so you’ve got me there, it’s gotta be real lol.
Nooo waited all week For straturday owell
The best guitar of the day, EVER!
lol go smoke another bowl
no longer on the website. Must have sold. I was curious to see what they were asking for it.
Sweet Agile!
Best comment! : P lml
To make it more interesting have them list the shirts you wore as well!!
Hello all hope all is well
Thank you.
Who plays guitar in the background sound ?
That is one very nice guitar.
those inlays look great
Cant find this on the website... Its kick ass. Marky, please play some Rory Gallagher
Fluro Flash-- I concur
I'm thinking that it's going to take having a saxophone to sell, to have him play some Rory.
I want to buy it, but I’m from Mexico where can I contact you to make the deal ?
Put my headphones on for this one. Great guitar and i have a feelin itll be gone bu Tuesday. Cheers from Boston!!!!!!!
James McDonald---I concur
Give me this guitar and take my house!!!! 😍😍😍
55 .. anyway love this guitar 🎸... thanks Mark ✌️and Jen 🌷
Good promo
Don’t see it on website... darn it!!!
Solo Music Guitar Kit??
Sweet !!!
if it has a 1959 serial number isn't it a counterfeit not a conversion ? a fake serial number makes it fraud even if disclosed , what prevents it from being sold on again ?
mark norris I was thinking the same thing, did the previous owner sand off the original serial number?
my guess is that it was built as a forgery from the get , i'm surprised norm would take a consignment like this , would have to be a pretty um significant client
mark norris I think considering the value of the parts it's gonna be more than a mere forgery. I think it's probably been done for a collector sometime on the 70's or 80's because before That, i dont think 59's would have been worth enough to go through all the trouble- I mean how much more was a sunburnt worth than a goldtop in the 60's? And after it the parts would have been expensive enough on their own as well as the original goldtop having decent value as well- considering you wouldn't be able to sell it as a '59 and get it's proper value (otherwise the buyer would want to get it authenticated I'd imagine)
But bruh, the mold!
Welcome to Norm's Phony Guitars. In all seriousness, we need to know who the knowledgable buyer in arlington was. Maybe it was norm and he is trying to pawn it off on someone.
Very nice rocker!
What was that "priced accordingly" price haha this thing sounds deadly and looks great too
Lol anyone know the few jazz songs played in the first 3 minutes ??
sounds good. That's all you need to know really
plot twist. the renowned plastic and vintage specialist was Norm who purchased this.
I can dig it.
I can dig it to, Mr. Stranger
adam nelson, you've posted the same thing 5 times now, YOU sound like shit.
I think some people are jealous, so it just comes naturally to them to hate on what the're jealous of.

Love the top! I will call... Hi Jen
We don't know what it is... but We DO KNOW IT'S ROCK & ROLL & WE LIKE IT!!!!!!
Sweet 😃 Gibson, are you paying attention now to what is expected of a fine instrument ?
Can't find it on the website! Link anyone?
I dont think they wanna link to this guitar....
whats that jazzy ass song the guy is playing in the very beginning of video
Is it just me or is the upper bout on this guitar kind of short?
Blooze96 I agree... hmmm....
Blooze96 that might make it a 70s Les Paul
