I literally just commented the same exact thing yesterday, on another one of his vids! 😂 It’s crazy how all the clout and recognition goes to these other guys w/ nothing but same repetetive content *OR* straight up subtle, yet obvious advertising for a bunch of products similar to things/stuff most of us already have, yet my man over here can’t even get 100K likes? This guy actually has variety and always something new and random, as well as almost a vid covering most firearms out there, w/ actual example to 1st person demonstrate every detail to us. Not to mention all the vintage scopes, mods, and accessories he owns and covers in addition to his usual content.

    The CZ-527 was, apparently, discontinued a few days ago. I suppose the Zastava Mk.85 will have a renewed relevance in the wake of the former's absence.
    I'm glad to hear Zastava's quality is generally good. Lately, my consumer confidence has been a bit shaken by the rising prices and unclear quality standards, across the board.

    Part of the blame, maybe the biggest part of the blame, for the lack of quality rifles on the market like Zastava is that so many Americans think the Savage Axis and Ruger Centerfire American (as well as cheap offering by Remington, Winchester and the others) are quality products. The average American gunner has ZERO concept of what makes quality anymore. They think if it shoots sub-moa it must be good. I'll stick with my CZ's and Zastava Mausers (when I can find them) and Weatherby Vanguard and Winchester new production Model 70’s especially. Would LOVE to see Zastava Mauser rifles on the shelf again.

      You're right, even AKs and ARs are starting to drop in quality as manufacturers are in a race to the bottom to see just how much they can cheap out on their guns. Once I bought a DPMS Oracle just because it was only $400 and later discovered that the M4 style plastic handguards were little more than placeholders, they had no heatshields and felt like they came off an airsoft rifle.

    • @cs-rj8ru
      @cs-rj8ru Před 4 lety +3

      Part of the problem with Zastava is the price and lack of quality control. I've had a few of the m85 minis reviewed here, both older interarms and newer imports...They have great blue and barrels, good triggers...And a junk action. Sloppy, gouged out with rough tooling and prone to extractor breakage and binding. They're a love-hate gun..Either you love to hate them, or hate to love them. 35 years should have been enough to clean up those actions.

    • @Nick-wn1xw
      @Nick-wn1xw Před 4 lety +1

      @@cs-rj8ru you are correct with regard to Zastavas quality control. My Zastavas were from the Interarms days and quality was much better.

    • @sasacahunek9990
      @sasacahunek9990 Před 3 lety +2

      Zastava requires a bit of tinkering, actions are a bit tight as well as triggers. Key is to clean them up properly before use. They are packed full of grease.
      A bit of lapping compound on raceways will make it much smoother to operate, use sparingly and keep lapping compound away from lock.
      My zastava 7x64 stainless mauser(only stainless mauser action in production) shoots great, functions flawlessly and is my go to rifle come end of october.
      Next purchase will be a 9.3x62.

    @michaelguerin56 Před 4 lety +3

    The Brno mini action started out as a .22 Hornet rifle. A Brno collector might disagree with the following words but they are my immediate recollection.They managed to shoehorn the .222 Remington into it and later replaced it with a longer action for the .223, 222 and .22 Hornet. That was called the Fox. All those rifles (as far as I am aware) had double-set triggers but with the Brno trademark there were always special items, either individual customer orders or short runs for various national distributors, e.g. the shorter barreled Model 4 rifles for the Swedish distributor. The CZ527 is essentially an updated Fox with a single-set trigger.

It's actually branded a Herter J9 but stamped made in Yugoslavia. The flat checkered bolt knob, floor plate release, safety, etc. clearly coincide w/ the Zastava shown earlier. Beautiful metal work and bluing. The stock is walnut but rather plain, uncheckered, no grip cap or fancy forend but I imagine it'll be a good shooter since the bore looks virtually untouched. FYI, that little Howa is great when placed in a MDT LSS chassis. I know, this is a little bit towards the tactical and non-traditional sense, but I must say it is a pleasure to shoot 7.62x39 in a setup that mimics a large precision rifle and simply focus on the act of shooting, not the accumulated cost.
    Even with surplus, I have had good success of ~2.5" at 200 yards. If you do select the 1500 Mini for this use, I would recommend the bull barrel, as my early pencil model shows heat stringing. Remember to carry amonia or boiling hot water for post shoot cleaning at the range if using mercury sulfide based primers, as found in milsurp.
    Oddly, I have been staring at Zastava models for a few weeks now, trying to find a particular elusive stainless model for a long-term project. Might have to add that 7.62x39 small action to the x39 bolt collection.

    I got the m85 in 7,62x39 . Bedded,polished trigger ,fitted for suppressor ,weaver bases . So scope fitted. Long throated chamber so can use with seater die .308 and .311 bullets. Lot of options and 220 SMK is good sub bullet and hard cast lead my friend have tried, varmint 110 Vmax.
    But i also found out that Fusion make 7,62 ammo so will try to get that and a few more to try soon.

    A vintage Lyman Aaskan would be ideal for that little Zastava. 2.5 or 3x would be plenty for that ammunition as well. There are a slew of small scopes being used on AR-15s as well. I have a little SightMark 4x32 on an M4 clone that would also work well on them.

    Careful when describing a howa 1500. Remington all though very similar is not the action that is based off of. The howa has a one piece bolt where the Remington uses a solder process. Machining practices at howa are far better, extractors are also larger. Usually there will be vent holes in the bolt body in the event of a rupture. very evident on weatherby vanguard models. Also I believe the degree of bolt lift is different to the Remington. Good video!!

    And that Mossberg bought out Smith & Wesson so the Mossberg 1500 is the same as the Smith & Wesson 1500.
    And I think the actions are made in Japan and there only small differences between them,... extractors,.... triggers,.... stock's ect.
