  • Picture perfect waterfalls, dozens of ravines with the sounds of cascading water, and a towering canopy of mature maple, hemlock, oak, and hickory trees -- all make for a fantastic Finger Lakes ride that provides occasional views of the shore of Cayuga Lake. See all there is to love about New York State as you travel the route of the former luxury passenger service -- the Black Diamond Express. This ride took place on October 10, 2020.

Another great video topped off with a more full glass of wine for Randy, lol. Nancy and I got a pair of Sena R1 helmets, now we can talk to each other up to 1/2 mile away from each other......only downside is I hear her talking to each and every cow and horse along the way. Keep 'em coming!!!!

Hi Don. Randy always gets the fuller glass - ha ha!! I looked up those helmets, quite sporty. I guess if you won't talk to Nancy she has to talk to someone?? Not sure, but we may have to copy you -- with the helmets, not cow talking. Our new toy for 2021 biking is a drone. Want to get more scenic shots. Randy can't wait for it to arrive as he will be the drone pilot -- but no drinking and piloting!! Now we just have to wait for the snow to melt!

Thx. Great video .... The falls are awesome! 👍👍😊😊
Robert Tremain Park and Buttermilk Falls Park are nearby. I do not know if either of them have a bike trail.
The L.V.'s Black Diamond Express was one of the premire passenger services. Its rates were a little
lower than the NY Central (longer route, more time) Ithink that the livery color of the early trains was
gorgeous green (hunter/racer green- i.e. British racing cars) and black livery with gold lettering . Later,
it was switched to red and black with chrome/stainless steel highlights ("Streamlined" era - really
just extra weight on the locomotive -- But it looked nice, so much for efficiency..... )
Lehigh Valley Railroad never made as much money as the NY Central or the DL & W (Lackawanna)
because it went to places that were ignored by the larger railroads (examples: Trumansburg, NY and
Truxton, NY). But, those communities benefited from having railroad access. LVRR merged with the
the wide-gauge Erie RR (by installing a third rail) to get to Elmira and Buffalo in 1868.

Hi. Thanks for the additional facts on the trail. I'm sure we will "see" you again on our next adventure. Thanks for watching.

You two really need to take a trip out to Berlin Ohio and check out the Bike scene

Definitely. I looked up where Berlin is and I already have a number of rides mapped out in that area, but I just discovered a few that I hadn't. I think Ohio is going to be our August trip. Thanks for the tip, and thanks for watching.

Beautiful fall colors! Did you use a drone to make this video?

Hi. No, we didn't use a drone for anything in this one. Thanks for watching.
