In choosing a car stereo amp set up there are many choices, we explorer the differences between doing a single 5 channel amp vs a two amp set up, 4 channel and a mono amp. We go through the pros and cons, cost and a few different 5 channel amps and dual amp set ups. The 5 channel amps we go over and mention include. Kickers CXA660.5, Rockford Fosgate P1000x5, Memphis PRXA700.5, Audison AV5.1K, Audison SR5.600 and Kenwood Excelon X802-5. The 4 channel/ mono amp set ups included are: Kicker CXA360.4 along with the Kicker CXA400.1 or CXA1200.1, Memphis Car Audio PRXA300.4 with the Memphis PRXA1000.1 or PRXA1500.1, Rockford Fosgates P600x4 combined with the P500x1bd. Audisons SR4.500 with the SR1.500,.

I am an old bass head and had a great system in a truck back in the day.
Forward to now, I recently bought a new toy
"90 vette" and I want some great sounds, but I am extremely limited on space.
I went to a well respected place and explained to the owner what I would like.
After him and his top installer checking out my car, he mentioned a Kenwood KMM BT328U deck, 2 Kenwood 6X9 5 way speakers in the back, 2 Kenwood 3 way 6x9 speakers for the front, a 10 inch bazooka tube and a Kenwood Excelon 802.5 amp. The reason for the Bazooka, is I would like to run the bass at 4 ohms for better sound.
I don't have much room for a normal ported box and a 12 inch bazooka tube won't fit when I have the targa top off and in back.
I went ahead and had them install the deck and both sets of 6x9 speakers for now. I will have them go ahead and do the big 3 also.
Should I stick with the sub that is in the Bazooka, or go with a kicker sub in place of the sub in the Bazooka?
    What say you?

    A. Run one 500rms 4ohm sub

Ok the bigger the better if you want to be heard 2 blocks away two 15”s are the best but that’s gonna be tough to get a pair of 15s in that truck with the correct size box. May the KICKER L7 12” Q class dual. Or a single JL 13W7. The new MEMPHIS VIV1422 is good for less money then the JL. Check out the video we did on the JL vs Memphis. I have a 2003 Honda Accord. I am using a 5.1 channel amp. 6" speakers in the front, 6x9" in the rear. I am pushing a 15" enclosed sub in the trunk. For space I am using a Pioneer head unit with a 9 band e.q. for a extra sound and power boost.
I went with the 15" sub because it only takes up half of my trunk space, and I have it wired so that If I need to use my whole trunk I can take it out altogether.
The 15" sub provides trunk shaking bass, if you want 2 subs I would suggest that they are a pair of 10" or 12" at the most.
