    DESCRIPTION: In a study of a half million people, which was most associated with the risk of developing lymphoma? Red meat, processed meat, poultry, offal, eggs, or milk? Have a question about this video? Leave it in the comment section at ‪nutritionfacts.org/videos/epic... and I'll try to answer it! Why was there so much more lymphoma and leukemia risk among those eating just a small serving of chicken a day? That's the subject of my next NutritionFacts.org video-of-the-day (coming on Monday). And see yesterday's video (nutritionfacts.org/video/veget...) for a discussion of overall cancer rates. The EPIC study also compared obesity rates in omnivores, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans. See Thousands of Vegans Studied (nutritionfacts.org/video/thous.... There are also hundreds of other videos on more than a thousand subjects (nutritionfacts.org/topics/).

      Sorry to hear that. What treatment did you go with and did you beat the cancer?

    My mother suffers from lymphoma cancer stage 4. She was diagnosed 5 years ago, at the age of 40. Her diet is considered "great" overall by her oncologist, since she eats relatively high amounts of fruits and vegetables. But along with these healthy foods, she eats yoghurt every morning (on top of her fruit) and chicken at least 2-3 times each week, plus all the other types of meat which are on the menu every night, and has done so for a good 10 to 15 years.
    I agree that looking more closely the study claims "no consistent associations", but from my experience, it has...
    I've been vegan for months 8 now, but I had never suspected the specific link between her cancer and her diet. We always blamed stress..!
    Dr Gregor, could I use clips of your video if I decide to make one myself?
    Thank you for all your work!

      It might be a range of things of course that have a negative influence. Stress definitely is the leading cause of a whole range of issues in the body. Stress actually has the epigenetic effect of turning on genes that cause inflammation throughout the body. Then combine that with other bad influences and the risk of problems arising in the body will increase even more.

    Come on, the study says: "Overall, we did not observe a statistically significant association of red or processed meat consumption with risk of
    HL, T-cell lymphoma or B-cell lymphoma". Also, "No consistent associations between consumption of milk and dairy products with risk of NHL and B-cell lymphoma were observed (Tables 3 and 5)." And cheese and yoghurt consumption
    were not associated significantly with lymphoma risk (Tables 3-6)".
    Why do you twist the results? Can we still trust you afterwards?

    • @VeganWalk
      @VeganWalk Před 5 lety +4

      He only pointed out that chicken was most statistically significant. Why are you suggesting otherwise? Chicken is not red meat eggs or dairy, chicken is chicken 🐔.

      Come on, did you even watch/listen to this??? You accused him of twisting thing is when you're the only one twisting things. Damn people are weird

      Chicken *was* statistically significant, and that's what he said in the video. 🤷‍♀️
