Well i grew up in McNairy co. I I knew Bufford very well. Dywana killed herself a few months ago. My dad use to take me by Buffords house on Sunday mornings. They drink Jack Daniels whisky together. I was very young like seven, eight. Their all gone now may they rest in piece including my dad Bill Hacker
Mark, my daddy was a truck driver n back when I was little 4,5 he told me the story of Buford n how he kept his county clean of the dope pushers, heroin, cocaine, sure could use more cops like him n this world we have today ❣❣❣ saddens me that my children have to grow up in the corrupt world of today 😥😥😥
Surprising this show didn't last long. It's got a unique lead character, some over the top action, good production values (well, other than shooting in Southern California instead of Tennessee), and a strong supporting cast (in this clip Harold Sylvester from Married with Children and Whit Bissell from The Time Tunnel). Also, a little edgier than other shows of its day - in this episode two teenagers end up zombies from drug abuse, another attempts suicide, two more are going to jail for attempted murder, and the big boss appears to be executed.
Sure don't; The 70s & 80s had some very good shows, but at that time, TV networks were Not interested in giving a TV series time enough to build a fan base, & airing this show on a Saturday night was not going to help it, but I remember enjoying this show when it first aired in early 1981.
I always liked Bo Svenson as Buford.I took a Load in a Semi to a Cat Plant in Corrinth. All the old Guys on the Dock Talked Highly of Buford. They all loved him they told me Some story's.He was a Hero too the People there.
So Edd Kalehoff composed this show, huh? If this had gone on a few more years, we could've had Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour theme when a fight breaks out or a chase ensues.
Most of those mobsters are either in prison or dead now ,and now we are facing a new face of evil ,and maybe in some ways ,some of the same, people are still people ,no matter where ya go ,only cultures seem to make us different.
Who is saying this show sucks? The first five minutes of this clip might be the best film sequence I've ever seen! High school boy turns into Satan and tears through town running over people? What's not to like?!?!?!
Yeah, even Dwana Pusser (the daughter of Buford Pusser) said he treated her like crap. Called her names because she was overweight when she was a teenager. I heard things about Bo that weren't good.
In real-life did Actor Bo Svenson hurt, the real Dwana Pusser's feelings about her weight, that she is fat,she needs to go on a diet and called her bunch of names? Is it true Actor Bo Svenson and Dwana Pusser did not get along with each other? I guess Actor Bo Svenson is a terrible guy in real-life. He's not nice at all.
I worked as Bo Svenson's driver on the set of "Walking Tall - Final Chapter". The man is a philanderer, a bully, and he treated my like a slave. It's no wonder the TV series didn't make it - he's a bad actor too.
"Tonight, Buford Pusser, a legendary sheriff of his time. Uphold the law against the criminals who strike the innocent."
The further this franchise gets from the original, the more fiction it becomes.
Well especially since Bo is reprising his role as Buford after he had already died at the end of Walking Tall: The Final Chapter, 4 years earlier
60 years old and a Buford fan kinda never heard of this......?

Mark Hacker I was close with Dwana so what makes you say that? How do you know?
Brent Allen Because it’s true. She died from a self inflicted gunshot

Buford was a good man from what I've read. In the world of law enforcement, I can only think of 4 men who were the best, including Buford.
@@maryshoemaker1334 sure would help if more cops were allowed to carry big ol sticks like Bufords.
The TV series of this movie premiered today (January 17) in 1981 on NBC.
For once drug portrayal is accurate in TV. PCP is Horrible. And now we have Flakka!

The extra”patient”sitting was in the Final Chapter movie.
they don't make shows like this anymore
I KNOW; NO REAL SHOWS ABOUT PEOPLE DOING THE RIGHT THING ANYMORE.
Jeff Rogosz they don’t make shows like this anymore because they don’t want to be cancelled after 7 episodes

Sheriff Bufford Pusser Mcnairy county Tennessee its in south western Tennessee not to far from Memphis Tennessee

Awesome
I like this show.
Damn, that title is scary, like all the kids got killed.
When he's in the backseat...hes still in the yellow car.
The chemist sounds like General Dodanna from Star Wars A New Hope
Wasnt that Yellow 71 Plymouth used in another TV Show called "Chase"?
Appears to be a former police car.
I would say so. It was gray primer in season 1, then later red-orange in season 2.
Has there been any other well known law enforcement official in the last few decades since Pusser and Ness?
Most of those mobsters are either in prison or dead now ,and now we are facing a new face of evil ,and maybe in some ways ,some of the same, people are still people ,no matter where ya go ,only cultures seem to make us different.
David Clark, Gerald Hege, Joe Apirillo, Johnny Mack Brown.
Frank Serpico

You said it. This show is massively entertaining and more than a little funny (mostly unintentionally).
@3:58 Rosco P. Coltrane siren

Leanna H. What did you hear about Bo?
walking tall TV series? McNeal county? they should have used the real name. McNairy county.

Betty Stamper sadly, this spring 2018, dwanna pusser committed suicide
NO TRUE AT ALL! HE HAS 3 DAUGHTERS OF HIS OWN AND DID NOT TREAT HER DISRESPECTFULLY. DON'T LISTEN TO DUMB GOSSIP.
What a crappy theme song.
I like Bo Svenson, but what a dumb show. Pusser was Sheriff of McNairy County, not "McNeal"...
I worked as Bo Svenson's driver on the set of "Walking Tall - Final Chapter". The man is a philanderer, a bully, and he treated my like a slave. It's no wonder the TV series didn't make it - he's a bad actor too.
David McConnell Wow, Are you serious! Ol Bo looks like a good guy. Like they say ''can't judge a book by its cover''. But he still seems super cool.
Joe Don Baker head and shoulders above Bo S.
I've seen interviews with him...he seems jovial and full of energy.
All I see are words with no proof.
ohhh no it sucked
