    The biggest misconception about Hyderabadi biryani is that it’s very spicy. Authentic Hyderabadi biryani is not supposed to be spicy, hence served with mirchi ka salan but the biryani you get in restaurants all over Hyderabad is commercial and mostly spicy. The best biryani in Hyderabad is either made at home or served at weddings.

    8:41 I felt really peace in this particular moment. As a Muslim, we believe this scene; sitting together with Iftar food and in spite of that eating nothing, is very loving to Allah. He loves to see us in this moment. He also loves when we feed other people in iftar.
    Old Dhaka cuisine is a remembrance of Indian and Mughal cuisines. You will find the name of the Big Indian cities like Hyderabad, Gujrat, Mumbai, Delhi etc in the name of food in Old Dhaka. Old Dhaka was also one of the richest cities of India once. So, the foods are also influenced by the big cities from which people came to do business here. It was also under the Mughal empire. Some food also originated from them.
    In fact, Old Dhaka is a glance of History even in the matter of food.

    @dr.faruqahmad8178 Před rokem +24

    Sir, you needed one proper interpreter, just to have a good meaning of the foods. Adnan Faruk may be good, but didn't translate well. For example: out of 3 kinds of curd preparation: khatta one (mattha)...you understood as Namkeen (salty). But indeed khatta means sour. Again Chinigura rice, never is Govindavoug. They are different rice with different flavors. Kaluzeera rice was used in so called Biriyani/Tehari, not chinigura. The difference is Kalizerra rice is less whiter in color, more boiled but more aroma. It's easy to cook with such rice, so the grains remains intact. We do have Gondhoraj lemons. In your case Elaichi lemon was used. It's having aroma of Cardamom, but less juicy. In Bangladesh try authentic "kachhi Biriyani" (cooked with stuffed raw meat in a selaed handi for 2-3 hours. You can have it with chinigura rice, but Vasmati (BD verrsion long grain Banglamoti) is also available. The traders say it's Vasmati, but uses Banglamoti (a hybrid long grain invented by BD researchers). The rice is good, tasty but having less aroma than Vasmati.
    Wish you have some good days in BD. But to go in deep of the food, you need a proper translator. On top you must visit, the real and authentic dines. Good luck.

As a Bangladeshi, I will never deny that we have incidents of destroying temples are not happening sometimes. However, India has some of the some of the largest radical Madrasas. In fact, Gulshan attackers of Bangladesh were motivated by following Zakir Naiek. Those who find faults of our Bangladesh must resolve their own problem first. @@ankit3936 Sadly the largest Madrasa or radical brain breeding center of South Asia is in India. It's called Deobandh Madrasa of UP. India being the largest Muslim country of South Asia must take the lead and reduce the number of extremist mosques and Madrasas. By doing so, India can reduce this trend of growing extremism. But communal Indians typically good at finding the faults of Bangladesh or Pakistan ; without cleaning their own messy house. Most radical Maulana's of Bangladesh studied in India. When it comes to Hindus of Bangladesh. Let Bangladesh sort out its own problem. Most of my teachers in Dhaka's one of the prestigious School was Hindus. They were so secular that they wanted us to overserve Roja and Namaz. That's the culture we grew up in. Dhaka, the city of my birth is named after the Temple of Maa Dhakeshwari (Durga). Coming from a Muslim family; I am proud of this history and the beautiful name of the temple and the city. There is no point of following any religion if it cannot teach you humanity, tolerance, peace and harmony. Apart from few incidents here and there; we the Bangalis from Bangladesh irrespective of our religious background love to live together in peace. I guess for us the Bangalis at times, we love our food and culture are more important than our religions. Amar shonar bangla ami tomai onek beshi valobashi. Joy Bangla

    Mr. Anuvab thank you so much for visiting Dhaka. But I would like to say that you choose the wrong host for your Tour(Hillol) there are more knowledgeable CZcamsrs out there. If you see the Chai shop owner explained better than him. It is not that Hillol is bad in his reviews, but as a host, he couldn't take you to places you should have been and also was unable explain you with either Hindi or English and provide you with correct information about the food and heritage.
