    We're tired of the CanAm Maverick X3 Turbo Clutch housing falling apart when you blow a belt. So, we install a Geiser Performance Clutch Housing Liner and put it to the test! Could this product help save the clutch housing on your Maverick X3 SxS UTV from failing when your belt pops?

      Full Throttle Off Road great videos guys, can you perhaps do some reviews on trailers for two seaters and 4 seaters X3’s loading together.
      Struggling with a design that can take both. I see you guys have cool trailers/sleepers on your adventures.
      Thx again 🤘👍🏻

    What Zane said ... Geiser may be somewhat new to UTVs but have been building Desert Race Trucks since 1995... Including badass Trophy Trucks! They know what their doing for sure.

    skid marks in the bottom are from improper belt deflection. belt to loose. secondary clutch should have been adj. when belt was installed.

    • @ftorvideo
      @ftorvideo  Před 6 lety +1

      The skid mark is from the belt breaking. This demonstrates the liner did it's job. That hit would have likely cracked or broken the bottom of the housing

    Have you considered that if you blow belts from running to hard/hot/long that more beer breaks could help with longevity ( gotta cool that sweet turbo powered ass brah)🤔? Good job homie

  • @paintball6910
    @paintball6910 Před 4 lety

    I have a question, more of a warning. Any belt that comes apart with fibers wrapped around behind the secondary, can and will wrap tight around the shaft and will eventually ruin the back side of the secondary, the shaft and seal . If I ever blow a belt on the trail I replace of course but once home or back to shop, remover the secondary and inspect back of it, shaft etc. Also closely look for same around primary now that you can see behind it. Good video, you guys are fun to watch.

    • @ftorvideo
      @ftorvideo  Před 6 lety +5

      We were testing it with a broken case to get an idea of how it would handle a blown belt. We were already wasting $180 on a belt - we weren't going to waster another $240 on a housing too. You can get an idea for how the liner would behave from this video, which is what we wanted to see. The liner clearly deflected the belt.

    how much hotter the temperatures get with this metal linner , my hypothesis is that due to belt being rubber and housing being metal i belive that the belt will get hotter due to the fact that is surrounded by metal idk I'm not a scientist to prove my theory, but this will not be a good option were i live because i never see below 98f on summer so my belt temps with the plastic housing are always high and i already did a clutch alignment for my belt and they still are high because the way i ride and were i live. a better option for me will be the carbon fiber one due to the fact that i want my temps low as possible for desert riding.

    I think CAN AM and Polaris have reached the end of reliability with the belt drive transmission their just making to much power. Time for a real transmission without belts.

    • @ftorvideo
      @ftorvideo  Před 5 lety

      It needs to be reliable though! A cvt is amazingly efficient and maximizes small power... and is extremely easy to fix and tune. A gear on gear transmission will be a lot more expensive, difficult to tune and repair, and less efficient. I do agree, they're the next step... just hope they're worth it

  • @chicago1680

    @toddwolff1084 Před 4 lety

    U have to be pretty hard on a x3 to break a belt!! Do u agree

  • @endurotruckererniedesjardins

    The big question is..... why would canham release a sxs not fully perfected. If its blowing belts they arent doing their job. My 1000xp sportsman kinda the same idea. Dam thing is always breaking something. Maybe this is why YAMAHA takes their sweet time putting out new machines. Pretty rare that YAMAHA puts out a shop demon.

      What belts are y'all running now. I know my Commander doesn't have nearly as much hp as the X3 does but I've been running a HighLifter C-3 belt for about 2 years now and I've stuck this big thing it gumbo mud in Louisiana, played in creeks, run wide open down the road and also climbed several long steep rocky hills in Tennessee and in West Virginia and it's been a great so far.

    • @Coyote.five.0
      @Coyote.five.0 Před 2 lety

      Im one year late brother but all the metal sounds you hear are the clutches primary and secondary clunk and on the front are the single sheer points that are starting to oblong on the rear make sure your toe bolt is super tight or you might need a tls kit but what i did to remove all metals clunks from my can am 2021 was : a gusset kit , tls kit, clutching, radius rods, and bushings. My can am is super smooth and quiet i still have the loud as hell clutch behind my ear but i already got just to the loud sound i daily drive a loud loud mustang everyday this is nothing.

    • @Just_Joe71
      @Just_Joe71 Před 6 lety

      If there is more heat in the box with the aluminum, then you would need more airflow. If you go on the forums you will see people are breaking belts faster with the liner. But its a win win for the vendors. They can sell you a box liner and more belts.👍
