Oh man, thank god someone has figured out how to explain something in under 7 minutes. Every damn tutorial of MSFS on a topic is 15+mins and honestly, all what is needed to know is like 2mins of it. Amazing video, straight to the point - please please please keep doing more of these!

Thank you ! After months of quiet, reasonable landings in the Longitude - since the AAU1 update - even with "auto rudder ON", find the aircraft unrealistically unstable on last part of final - pre-touch down. Addressed the issue by raising my approach speeds - and - no longer use "full-flaps". Very little difference. Seems there "may" be a bug in the stability profile of the Longitude below 135 - 140 kts. VNAV and AT work great - but this aircraft is not that unstable as the current sim displays.... Cross-winds are almost impossible to land smoothly - even way below the max crosswind limit. Frustrated - love the sim & aircraft - but since last update - something is wrong - IMO.... Appreciate you video - well done !

Do you have a video with Longitude cold & dark startup ? I couldn’t work out this new version out, complained about low hydraulic pressure + something else, it wouldn’t move ! Brakes and chocks off of course

I'm having problems with the auto Throttle. any tips on operating it correctly? I know you need to select manual but I still have problems with it.
In VNAV mode you can leave it in “FMS” and all you have to do is switch it on. I use a hotkey for that, IIRC the Autothrottle switch is in some awkward place on the Longitude.
In manual setting mode it’ll follow whatever you dial in. Your desired speed will be displayed in blue above the speed tape on the PFD.
Make sure your flap setting is appropriate for your selected or current speed.
How does one manage VNAV in the climb phase, with waypoint ALT restrictions on a SID for instance, I seem to bust most ALT restrictions on a SID with crossing restrictions? What would be the proper way to manage ALT restrictions during climb? Flying the TBM 930, that doesn't have VNAV guidance on the climb.
The Longitude should just obey them. Not sure if the TBM supports this yet, or if you have to manually manage MCP altitude and use FLC.

@@Stan-ug9mx for sure. It’s much easier and feeds straight through to the airplane in a lot of cases.

@@Stan-ug9mx I just program the route directly in the FMC and use the sim/EFB to get weights. That’s all shown in the airplane tutorial videos. There are tutorials out there for Simbrief with those planes, but I won’t be doing that
Thanks for the tutorial. One other thing: when Im in the longitude, I see the pfd split with a map on the left/right screen. I want to get rid of it and have a full pfd screen like you have at 0:39 . Is there a way how I can do that? I’m on Xbox
There’s a PFD config screen to the left of the pilots yoke. I think it’s in there
If you look at the left hand screen in the centre in home view along the bottom is a square icon with full size label, click on that.

I can't get approach mode to engage. I click on the button but nothing happens. I can't figure it out.
You may need to switch nav source over to radio. On the PFD settings to the left of the pilot yoke there is a button which says NAV SOURCE FMS (or GPS). You need to click it til it says LOC1
Haven't figured out how to change the altimeter setting to Hpa.
PFD options on the MFD to the left of the yoke maybe?
I tried that... Agree it's the most logical place to find it.

What if I set my altitude to final approach altitude and still don't have a TOD? having difficulty with this. Also can you do a video on VNAV decent In the cj4. As always thanks for you content!
After setting your cruise altitude on the MCP on the tarmac, check that the FMS plan contains climb and descend altitudes at every waypoint before you take off - it won’t work if these are missing. I show this check in the video.
This seems to be a flaw in the MSFS flight planner on some routes where it doesn’t have enough data to work it out. Shorter routes with direct departures and approaches, and routes outside Europe & US, seem to be the worst for this.
You *can* manually insert altitudes in the plan too (see my Honda Jet VNAV guide for this). There’s no guarantee that the sim will correctly calculate TOD from them, but it’s worth a go if altitudes are missing.
I should cover the CJ4 VNAV, I just don’t like the airplane all that much 😁
@@TiJayFLY so having a departure and approach is ideal. What about an arrival?
@@speak-easyconversations1393 yeah the more data you can give it, the better. I’d imagine if you don’t at least pick a departure/arrival runway, it will be unable to calculate. I believe SIDs and STARs are a huge help. See the flight planning tutorial on my channel for an example of an “ideal” one.

A few minutes into flight and my FLC turns itself off. Any idea why?
It’ll switch off at altitude restrictions then resume afterwards.
It’s also possible that some flight plans don’t provide enough data to calculate a VNAV path (because the MSFS flight planner isn’t perfect) so double-check your plan in the FMS before flight, to make sure your cruising altitude is actually in there and that a path up and down has been calculated.
Also of course, make sure your MCP altitude matches the cruising altitude you provided in the planner.

@TiJayFLY I was flying out of Tampa and upon takeoff everything was good. Around 2000 feet up, it held there. Speed restrictions changed from 200 to 250 but it just continued along at around 2000 feet until I pressed FLC again. The rest of the flights were perfect.

I'm just wondering if gpws callouts are a thing in this plane in msfs. I can't find anybody even mention it, except the longitude performance mod. The real plane has them, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something, or is asobo? Seems so easy to have them as they already exist in the game. If anyone knows please let me know!

If you’re playing on Game Pass, yup - but if you own a lower version, you can pay the difference to upgrade.
@@TiJayFLY Lol yea my cheap ass is playing on game pass. Wasnt sure if I wanted to play when I started....now I have a honeycomb alpha and bravo. Maybe time to upgrade versions lol.

Don’t think these planes have call-outs. You can set minimums but that’s just a flashing warning on the PFD and a beep

😂 yeah it’s a dial directly above the PFD. I set it on the way up, just forgot on the way down
