This is cool because he did it all with basic tools. He didn't need a whole blacksmith shop with a huge forge and a power hammer, etc.

Parabéns pelo trabalho!! Linda faca! Isso prova que não precisamos de muitas ferramentas para fazer uma belíssima faca! Mas eu não diria que é uma clássica Bowie. Parece mais uma Big Hunter!!! Faltou o clássico e imprescindível Clip Point. 👏👏👏

Very well executed piece, your work methods are similar to my own and quite effective.
One thing to note is burnt in tangs should be secured with a pin, epoxy does not stick to ash and can lead to a loose blade.

Your anvil is absorbing too much of the force your hammer, because it doesn't have enough mass under the face of the anvil. weld some supports under the unsupported parts of the I-beam

DonutAssassin it is, and if you wanted to start forging I would recommend to start with a small forge. You don't have to make it but there is so much satisfaction that comes from building it your self. I made my first forge out of an old empty fire extinguisher. There are definitely some basic things to learn but it can be a very helpful skill in the future. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes a second nature. But yes it is so much fun and even therapeutic at times.
