Mishkin’s death always bothered me. You had an honest and hard-working official who was trying to get to the bottom of what happened, and when he found out what happened, he was killed.

It sucks because in those few seconds you can tell who his loyalties are shifting toward...Oroumov was clearly toast and was gonna be dealt with. But more importantly, Bond lost a potentially great ally. They could easily have slotted this guy into the subsequent movies but in a more casual setup like Zukovsky (them in a scene together would've been interesting). He retires from government and sets up his own private security/intelligence/defense thing...so many missed opportunities...the stuff with Carver, Renard, Graves...Mishkin could have popped up at any stage during those plots to give Bond the low down...

Mishkin was very clever here. He purposely riles up Bond in order to get the truth out of Natalya. Hence his, "You were you saying something about the lost art of interrogation, Mr. Bond."

Isabella Scorupco (Natalya) is Polish, on another note. Most Slavic Accents sound similar so that worked fine. Gott means God like 'Mein Gott!' (Lit. Oh my God!), and Fried means peaceful. I speak German so I'd know. So his name translates as 'Peaceful God' What the fuck? That's weird!

I watched them all so much that I was able to recite lines from them from memory. During this time it was uncertain whether Bond movies would make a resurgence. When Goldeneye came out I was a freshman in high school and it was the first Bond movie to be released that I remember. That was pretty tight what Bond did after he slam Ourumov to the wall, while he kick the door to the Russian soldier storming in and he punch the other Russian soldier trying to kill Natalya and took his weapon.

One of the best few min over all the Bond films. Not over gory, or over done, or over the top like some action movies lately. It gets to the point and doesn't play around just for violence sake.

The "GoldenEye" archive shootout refers to a memorable action sequence from the 1995 James Bond film "GoldenEye," directed by Martin Campbell and starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. In this scene, Bond finds himself in the archives of the Russian secret intelligence agency, known as the GoldenEye facility, located in Severnaya, Russia.
The archive shootout occurs when Bond is discovered by the facility's security forces and is forced to defend himself. Armed with his trusty Walther PPK pistol, Bond engages in a high-octane gunfight against numerous adversaries. The scene showcases Bond's agility, marksmanship, and resourcefulness as he maneuvers through the narrow corridors of the archives.
Throughout the shootout, Bond employs a combination of skillful marksmanship, clever tactics, and the use of available cover to gain the upper hand against his opponents. He neutralizes his enemies with precise shots while dodging incoming gunfire and explosives. The scene is filled with intense action, punctuated by Bond's trademark one-liners and suave demeanor.
The archive shootout in "GoldenEye" has become one of the most iconic action sequences in the James Bond franchise and is widely regarded as a standout moment in the film. It perfectly captures the essence of Bond as a skilled and resourceful secret agent, capable of overcoming overwhelming odds in thrilling fashion.

Bond’s kill count in this movie was massive - possibly the highest of any? Must have killed about 12 to 15 guards at the chemical weapons factory and about 20 more in this escape
