My mom would always answer the “I’m bored what should I do” question with, “I’ll give you something to do!” And then list some chores I would absolutely not want to do. That way I would go off and figure out something I actually wanted to do lol. She def promoted my independent play that way haha

Good tips but also its good to be involved with kids and at least play with them some of the time! It would suck if you accidentally went into being not as active in their life

Do you have any ideas for indoor activities where I could let them be wild? I wish I could go outside with my kids but we have 2 seasons "smoky" and winter. :( It is legitimately not safe for the littles to be outside right now (wildfire smoke) and I know otherwise "there is no bad weather just bad clothing" it's just still hard. (I am inspired by the idea to let them be wild and want to do it!)

Could you drive somewhere where the air is safe and do naptimes in the car?

      @@carmenslaughter5175 No. It's smoky everywhere.

Throw rocks in a bathtub. Make bubbles with dish soap. Play catch in a safe room in the house. Do a scavenger hunt. Do an aerobics video (I used to do them with my mom as a kid! I got paper towel tubes instead of weights. Sometimes I’d just run in between her and the wall while she went back and forth!) Chase your kids with a vacuum. Chase them up the stairs with a gorilla voice. There’s a few ideas!

Balance board honestly its like an indoor rollercoaster. What the OP said in a different video that they have a climber at home. If they are old enough make bread with them because kneading dough is a good way to get out a TON of energy

Phew, I thought you were gonna tell me to get off MY device. 😂
I am so glad I did #3 from the beginning. We really don't have these problems. They are used to an hour of screen time a day bc of my recent pregnancy, I needed a nap each day. But they are great at entertaining themselves. I do need to get off my device tho 😅

I hate to admit it but my son has gotten more screen time lately because 1. It’s hot AF outside and 2. I’m in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy
I do hope/plan on this just being a season!

Yeah mama, it’s just a season! You sound like the type to get right back on it so don’t be hard on yourself.
Hang in there and have a wonderful birth and healing time!
