The frame is good for the price point. Light enough, tough enough and with all the fittings for modern upgrades.
It is what it is. And for another 200 bux you can outfit it like 2 grand bike.
Speaking from experience.
Agreed! So far so good, great bike
Picked up the exact same cement grey, M frame for 299 over Memorial Day weekend and I have to say for the price, I’ve been pretty impressed.
heck yeah! i a mfast aproaching the 200 mile mark on mine (also bought on memorial day) and its been great! im going to ush its limits and go to a couple black diamond trails near me... stay tuned!
Thanks for the vid. Picked up an Aggressor Pro here in Canada, also on sale. I gotta look into that stem. I totally get what you mean and why you swapped it.
Thanks for watching! The stem bothered me from my first ride haha
I think there is a leverage advantage with it being long but also becomes a disadvantage at times
I’m a lot more comfortable with the short stem, I’ve also since out 780mm bars on the bike and gained a ton of comfort and control from those (video coming soon)
Looks great. I bought one in black, large frame, and put a 29er fork up front. Mullet style.
The components are junk. But if you put a few hundred bucks into it, it's a great bike. There's not a frame I trust more.
Thanks for watching!
How do you like it with the mullet setup?
I have a set of tubeless wheels ready to go (27.5) but I’m thinking I’m gonna buy a 29 inch hoop and spokes and set mine up mullet just for the rollover of the 29er
Wolftick made me want this bike. Years........ago. I paid $479. I love it. I have done upgrades.
They are really great bikes for the money!
I just bought a 2021 model off marketplace for $200. 🤷🏻♂️ I think it was a good deal, I'm having a blast riding it! Feel like a kid again 😅
That’s a great deal, they are a riot to ride!
Thanks for watching!
those IXF cranksets are bulletproof, seriously. I ran a IXF crankset for almost 3yrs on my GT along with the BB that came with it and never had problems with it. I just recently switched them out to a shimano MT800 BB and a Shimano M5100 crankset 2 weeks ago just becuase I like the look better. On the same note if anyone is interested in an IXF crankset, BB and Wolftooth components 32T chainring hit me up. I have no use for them so I'm trying to sell them. I wish I could use the Wolftooth chainring but unfortunately the Shimano crankset is 96 BCD and the Wolftooth chainring is 104 BCD.
Regarding going tubeless, I haven't yet, but I can say during the winter there were times when i was running my tires at around 15psi, almost to the point of being flat just so i was able to get traction in the deep snow. Granted i didn't do it a ton, but it is possible to run tubes really low.
Yeah, I’m thinking going tubeless specifically for the run flat moose and ability to air the tire way down haha. So far the ixf cranks are great. I swapped to the hollow bottom bracket and cranks just to switch to the single front chain ring. So far I’m loving that decision. I also am trying to decide if I’m staying 8 x in the rear or going to 10
do you think switching to a single crankshaft up top is a necessary thing. I’m gonna buy this bike in a couple days and am wondering if i should order one.
As far as necessary… I’d say no. You will have a better experience on single track or jumping it if you have a chainring that has offset tooth sizes to grip the chain. I had the chain jump off many times on the stock 3 piece chain ring up front. Put the offset tooth single ring on and have very little issues. Also, the front derailleur was way out of adjustment from dicks building the bike. So it’s just one added part to fail or be misadjusted.
I will say, you can buy this bike take it home and check all the bolts for tightness and make sure everything is adjusted properly and go ride it in stock form on single track and have fun
@@motodad311 Thanks for the information, i’ll definitely end up buying the single track after a little bit. I saw wolftick had some troubles with the 3 piece aswell.
How has the crank set and BB held up so far? About to do the same 1x conversion
Great!
Surprisingly well for being cheap
I’m actually going to do a wheel install video and review on the full bike/ build to this point
Hey, I have a GT aggressor pro and I really want to know if I can install pegs on it?
I don’t know how you would with quick release axles.
Where did you get the blue water bottle holder ?
At dicks when I bought the bike, I believe they had blue, silver and black in stock
Did you replace the chain when you changed the front sprocket ? & also what sprocket is it ?
I did not replace the chain. The sprocket is a 34 tooth oval from Amazon I’ll get you the link!

That's a nice bike
Thanks!
And thanks for watching!
They are $599 at Dicks here in Houston Texas
Dang! Usually on holidays dicks puts them on sale, keep an eye out
Thanks for watching!
Just googled and it shows 299. Another $299 option is the Northrock XC27 at Costco.
I would buy this over the Ozark Trail bike & its a $100 less.
Thanks for watching, and it’s honestly a great bike
GT’s have always been cool bikes to me-love that triple triangle frame design. 🔥
for sure - they are a great platform. im at the 550 mile mark and only failures have been the headset and the fork. i dont know how someone would hurt that frame haha they are tough@@sci-fyguy7767
I'm 5 8 and I ride an XL gy aggressor 😂
They made me sign paper cause I took an xl rather then there recommendations
I guess as long as you’re comfortable haha
@motodad311 the only part where it's not comfortable is the eyes..
Riding an xl at 5 8 is apparently very eye catching..
@@evanram6608 i hear ya, my wife is barely over 5 feet and she steals my aggressor while im at work and rides around the neighborhood haha
Might not be a Cali thing but what’s this secret at dicks? I was only find for $399.
I think they only dip to $299 on holiday weekends.. maybe wait for Labor Day or 4th of July
What size/shape chain ring you using?
34 tooth oval, I’m working on adding links in the description to the parts
My channel isn’t verified so it probably won’t let you click the links in the description but, the links are in the description to the parts on Amazon!
Thanks man going to do this swap this weekend. What did you do as far as spacer setup on the BB? Also did you shorten the chain at all?
@@zeroseven11 chain is factory chain and i didn't remove any links. also, the BB comes with 3 plastic spacers; i have zero installed on the aggressor pro. i measured with a depth end of a caliper through the frame and the length of the bottom bracket and subtracted the width of the crank arms and it came out perfect without any spacers. i wasn't convened i did it correctly but i am 100 miles in on that bottom bracket setup and everything is working perfectly.
I did it over the weekend installed without spacers like you. Seems to be all good. I stripped out my non drive side crank arm when i was trying to remove it. Had to hacksaw it off. It was a pain in the ass but I got it done. Thanks for the help.
Got this bike off Facebook for $200
That’s a great deal!
Fun bike to ride, thanks for watching!
This bike is junk. I will never buy it again. I traded it in three times for three different bikes all of them fall apart on the trail within an hour.
That bad?
I’m sorry you feel that way, I’m almost 300 miles in and the bikes been rock solid. Before I ever went to the trail I took it all apart and greased everything and adjusted brakes and retorqued every bolt. It’s been an awesome bike for me
...tell us you used the wrong tool for the job then blamed the tool without telling us...
@@user-mf4gz3sp1q From what I can see it comes in two configurations. The one that you have,( where the triangles are welded onto the frame) ,and the other where the triangles are free floating arround the frame.
I think the second configuration can not take serious abuse...
It's supposed to offer a smoother ride by flexing the frame.

$300 bikes are made for sidewalks and crossing the streets.
I disagree, thanks for watching

Not everyone values life.
$1,200 is for bikes that have motors.
