- The Fripp and the metaphors... and everything online...
King Crimson is a venerable elder of the rock music world. The godfather of Progressive Rock itself. Though the band's leader Robert Fripp often disagrees with that analysis. He disagrees with pretty much any analysis of King Crimson. Fripp's quinquagenary career is deeply interlinked with King Crimson. His long-time personal project and the greatest mechanism of Fripp's influence over the music world.
In the last decade though, the internet has opened up the image of King Crimson. Recently, after many debates, Fripp has come to reckon with this. His long history of copyright takedowns left a trail across CZcams. Robert Fripp's hyperactive intellectual property protectionism has created a bizarre and fascinating relationship between Fripp, his fans, and the internet. What rulings then has Fripp declared across the internet?
And has King Crimson's copyright conundrum finally been solved?

Fripp is kewl with the JoJo reference though.
The stand itself is weird and complex, just as KC music, so i guess Fripp loved that and had no problem with sharing the band name with a time skipping donut maker ghost
@gibbdude nah the name would be katakana, therefore you can lengthen the vowel with the long-dash. Even written in hiragana, you could write it either way when changing to romaji so it actually doesnt matter
Then Robert Fripp uses the requiem arrow and then HE COPYRIGHTS ARAKI HIMSELF
Literally a day after this video came out Fripp just gave up and uploaded all the songs to youtube.

Fripp should be glad that the public even remember him and King Crimson. The last decent album they ever produced was Red, way back in the 70s, when he had a great band with him. Since then he has lost his way and survived on his reputation. He should be glad that people are even bothering to upload and download his songs.
You know I have to agree... I actually haven't cared for anything after Discipline and that is me being pretty generous and kind. I once had such a high regard for him but over the years and after all the album that are called King Crimson and do not sound like the band I liked at all. Yea, but this video don't explain how the band works.
Robert Fripp abducts baby musicians and raises them to be musical assassins. King Crimson is cover for his operation.

Ok... wtf?
Same thing with fanart.tv. KC is one of those few artists whose page on the site is completely empty and just has an explanation that they got served a DMCA notice and were asked to cease offering any and all KC-related artwork and picture downloads.
Maybe having your photo on sleeves wouldn't actually be a big help in selling albums if the collective age of your band is around 500 years old!😬
MosoKaiser KC... you mean RF! I wonder how Greg Lake, whose melodic and enchanting vocals are only the BEGINNING AND THE ESSENCE OF King Crimson, would feel? I don’t think that RF would be anywhere near as famous as he is WITHOUT HIS ORIGINAL LEAD SINGER. He is truly the most talented vocalist in the history of the King Crimson “band.” People don’t remember guitarists as well as the lead singers. Lord knows RF had enough singers over time in this band named King Crimson. Greg Lake was the best!!
@@tiffanyhouchin6055 Counterpoint: Since we can get a direct comparison with more than KC pieces, take a look at Lake's vocals years later when he stood in for Wetton with Asia (live show was broadcast on MTV). Lake declined significantly in his vocal control and range, but Wetton improved pretty steadily.
My guess is that Fripp or whoever's in charge want's people to buy the 50th anniversary in the court of the crimson king boxset but yeah King Crimson really need's to release their music onto youtube
Yup, even pink floyd and radiohead are releasing their music on youtube already. Probably because of youtube music but hey.
They already released the 21st Century Guide or whatever to CZcams, but they still need to release a lot of content not present there yet
@@jeremylim2421 except pink floyd and radiohead are mainstream king crimson are more underground and it will probably stay that way if they don't make their music more avalible
Fripp doesn't give a fuck. I was surprised KC ended up on Spotify. King Crimson doesn't 'need' to do anything.
Since I have bought everything several times its annoying that he keeps it so locked up
Just as a side note, the tape delay technique that Brian Eno and Fripp started using on No Pussyfooting, later dubbed Frippertronics by Fripp, is actually the Ussachevsky Loop first pioneered and recorded in 1956.
So, ummm - trademark depends on whose ox is getting gored. Fripp's Soundscape recordings which utilize this technique and enhanced digital version of it are among Fripp's most beautiful.
But spare a thought for Vladimir Ussachevsky.
Yes - and Terry Riley developed it for his music, and Fripp nicked it off Riley.
Issac Newton - in an unusually humble mood - had that line about 'standing on the shoulders of giants.'
Never knew that…I’ve read numerous interviews with Fripp & Eno and they never mentioned him!
Thank you, CZcams recommended section for introducing this video to me. I'm not surprised that certain anime series is the reason KC has a sudden burst of popularity 2 years ago and because of that it's my very first exposure to KC's songs.
Fripp, in September, announces soft down the copyright offensive in you tube. He even puts a compilation "The Condensed 21st Century Guide to King Crimson (1969-2003)" in the KC Channel, but, now in December, he takes off the compilation and returns to the battle.
Fripp, maybe because of his personal and religious formation (with a resentment of music business), have an interesting paradox: at one hand, open to new tendencies and styles that permeates Crimson sound and his career, with a tendency of adaptation that few progressive bands achieve; at other, he have a close and rigid mind about the utilization of crimson music (even bootlegs) outside the "official" media reproduction. And i don't think he (now with 74) really change his mind about it.
Great video, thankfully someone talks about this curious case of musician X youtube / streaming.
Reminds me a bit of the Beatles rights holders. Thanks for another bit of trivia I didn't know about the world.
There's this guy at the local flea market that comes in every Sunday that has an old imported CD of In the Court of the Crimson King and I plan on getting it. For now I just jam to 21st Century Schizoid Man.
Despite all the memes, they're a reall great band and as annoying as Fripp's ACD is, I kinda admire it. I doubt I'd ever have heard of KC without JJBA and/or the Dark Tower series and the memes though. What a strange relationship. Another great video though!
try to get "Discipline" if you can, its more accesible and post-punk/new wave oriented but mantains all the complexities of their 70s work.

Very nice video! I have a few (really several) comments...
John Wetton, the vocalist on the Tokyo Tapes, is also an ex-Crim.
Take what Gordon Haskell says with a grain of salt. I think his solo output is pleasant and I don't mind his contributions to "In The Wake Of Poseidon" and "Lizard", but half the time he is talking out of his ass when mentioning King Crimson. Conversely, while Andy McCulloch is more generous to Robert, he remains frank and speaks what I believe is closer to the truth. Another commenter mentioned that Gordon claims Robert drove Andy to tears, but the veracity of this claim is dubious: Andy himself has never corroborated it, to my knowledge.
I'm kind of disappointed you didn't cover Robert's period of "Endless Grief" with E.G. Management beginning roughly at the start of the 90s, coinciding with the founding of Discipline Global Mobile. You mentioned his sabbatical at the Sherbourne House in passing, but it's actually a very important part of his career for reasons other than The Fourth Way's influence on his philosophy: two representatives of E.G. Management, a company whose formation aligned with King Crimson's (and subsequently signed them), visited Robert to persuade him to sign the rights of King Crimson royalties to them. One of these men was Sam Alder, and Robert has long criticised his business practices in his diaries. In fact, the spoken word of "Coda: Marine 475" was inspired by a disastrous investment of Alder's, leading to large sums of unpaid royalties.
"The success of the EG Music Group was based largely on their ownership of their managed artists' phonographic & publishing copyrights. My own copyright assignments to EG were made on the basis (as explained to me at Sherborne House on February 22nd. 1976 by Mr. Alder himself) that the assignments were necessary for EG to:
1. protect my interests;
2. collect my royalties;
3. protect the copyrights around the world.
This advice, given to me by Mr. Alder, was regrettably inaccurate: a licence to EG would have had the same effect, and my copyright interests would have remained mine. The effect of the advice was to favour EG at my expense (and similarly for the other Crimsons)." (1)
"Perhaps several visitors may remember the EG saga and SG Alder Esq.'s part within it? In short, during 1989/90 £4 million was leant by EG Music to Athol & Co., a company under the common control of Mr. Alder & his partner MA Fenwick Esq. (now out of the music business and in his family firm of Fenwick's). Then, on January 1st. 1991 the EG Music Group were unable to pay royalties (I'm not sure which "sound business practice" this is filed under)." (2)
This no doubt had a large impact on Robert's a) aim to re-acquire both the rights and royalties to the King Crimson catalogue, b) form DGM, and c) future interactions regarding copyright - I can imagine he was very soured by continued disputes. I believe that's why he temporarily retired 2012-2014.
The unavailability of King Crimson on streaming services until June does have basis in reality, despite what people may think. David Singleton, as part of a press release from the beginning of 2019, mentioned that the industry said physical sales for music were declining, despite the opposite being true for DGM. This trajectory finally peaked sometime last year, I assume, which influenced the decision to fully commit to streaming. Additionally, what's available on streaming services are the 30th Anniversary remasters of the original mixes, plus bonuses. This maintains exclusivity for the 40th Anniversary remixes (which have stereo/surround remixes plus the remasters), but allows King Crimson to reach a broader audience.
"'The reason we've been slow on Spotify is that, unlike apparently the whole of the rest of the industry that's been telling us that physical is dead, we've had rising physical sales for probably the last 10 years,' Singleton said, referring to titles issued via the band's own DGM label. 'But that argument was valid for a while, and it isn't anymore.'
He went on to say that, at this point, the pros of streaming outweigh the cons. 'In the end, our prime function is to serve the music and make the music available, and Spotify has now definitely become one of the places that people, particularly younger people, find music.'" (3)
Still, I won't defend everything DGM does. Removal of artwork from last.fm is silly and hurts their 'brand recognition', their collection of unofficial recordings can be seen as somewhat hypocritical (Fripp's distaste toward audience recordings stems from intent, as it keeps audients from fully engaging with music, therefore preventing what he names as Music from happening), or other things. However, I do think they run a very good business model.
Sorry for inundating you with a ton of Crimson info! That's what happens when you submerge yourself into discussion for the band 😂
Again, this video is really nice, and you hit a lot of points with more accuracy than a lot of KC commentators do (myself probably included).

This is a really good comment! Thanks for your input. Love well thought out stuff like this (and you cited your sources which I love)
I'll try to be as complete as I can in my response, but forgive me because there is a lot here (which I am thankful for).
I think I excluded the Wetton mention just because I didn't want to confuse people too much and I think I didn't see his name when I went back and wrote the script for this video. My bad.
I also agree with your summation of Haskell, but I wanted to add an opposing view point/quote to the video. I wanted a good anti-Fripp quote just to balance to balance the video out. Since I felt I was too "pro-Fripp" and like a good bit of neutrality in my videos. Haskell's summation is questionable, but I think it reflects the common criticism of Fripp's controlling nature and perfectionism (if a bit extreme).
I was going to go more into Sherbourne House and everything going on with Fripp in that period, but I was worried it would make the video too long and muddy my points. I wanted to talk about King Crimson and the Internet/Copyright. My main concern was not turning the video into a history/documentary on Fripp/King Crimson ("Cosmic F*Kc" will probably be that and produced with an actual budget unlike my video). I also could not find much on Fripp's time in Sherbourne that wasn't already in the "Wimborne-New York" documentary. So I didn't want to repeat that, but I did use some info from it. I had to unfortunately ignore most of that period, but I tried to at least point out its influence on Fripp.
The same for all that legal stuff and Fripp's copyright disputes. I know its definitely a heavy exclusion, but I was afraid I would mix something up and confuse people so I simplified it the best I can. So I tried to summarize with Fripp's relationship with the music business which is definitely a weak substitute, but, as said, I was concerned about turning into a general documentary.
The streaming stuff I tried to summarize with the whole "outreach year" statment KC put out. Sorry if I didn't make that clear or I kinda overlooked stuff. I probably should have looked through more of Fripp's diaries than I did too, but I feared I would get too much and most of them are, in all honesty, pretty boring. If I was making a "general" Fripp video I would have though. I just tried to give a few highlights and the best impression I could.
I also agree on DGM. I do think they and Fripp are fair, if not progressive, in all regards, but it is all the odder compared to Fripp's copyright policy which was the main crux of the video. If anything, I respect Fripp and wanted to show how interesting he and his music is. Since I think more people would enjoy his... quirkiness? Don't know what word to use.
Once again, excellent comment. Loved reading and responding to it. Hope I gave you a good reply. I'm pretty tired right now so it may be a bit rambly or confused, but I wanted to reply before I forgot.
I make videos so I can also learn from the comments too, glad a few hardcore King Crimson fans like the video! (even if there are a few oversights)
@@Pseudiom Of course! Thanks very much for the reply. As for your comment, all reasonable justifications. Good point about including an "Anti-Fripp" quote; it's a bit funny in how it's so over-the-top, so I'd say it's a valuable addition.
As for the other points, I think a summarization of Robert's relationship with the industry/copyright was definitely the way to go for this video. You hit the right balance of information and total length, IMO.
As for Robert's diaries, they are very difficult to comb through. It definitely helps to have specific key-words, but it's still time consuming.
By the way, I don't know if you use Discord at all. But if you want to talk with more KC fans, I run a Discord server dedicated to discussing them.

I've been getting into king crimson but I don't listen to them on Spotify because I don't have premium and it always plays their longest songs first 😑
The copyrighting is hurting the band more than helping
Every studio album from Court to Discipline (or maybe Beat) is on archive.org. I have 'em all bookmarked.
...if you're getting into them, what's wrong with the longest songs first? If you want to like the band, listen to them.
The Puppet Head because first listening to a band is like watching a film whilst scrolling through Facebook, it’s a lot easier to comprehend a shorter song first time- I love CAN but would definitely not try to introduce someone with the 14 minute Mothersky because they’d forget most of it. Short songs first then it’s easier to appreciate longer pieces
@@frenchguitarguy1091 I also love CAN and have won many many of my friends over by introducing them to all 18 minutes of Halleluwah so...yeah.
The Puppet Head yeah but most songs don’t have the rhythm of Halleluwah, and itd still say that something like vitamin C is a better started as it’s a lil more self contained
I love the irony in saying that the King Crimson channel's upload of Schizoid Man will never be taken down
Fun fact; there are recording sessions from 1969 that HAD to be distributed on DGMLive because of recent changes of copyright where they had to hold on to the rights of the material by releasing it at some point.
"All recordings must be released within the fiftieth year of their recording in order to continue to enjoy copyright protection. So these have been released to the DGMLive faithful - and are thus protected!"
I would buy them, but I'm waiting for the 1969 boxset they're gonna redo, cause they'll be on that, too.

Finally, a creator who gives insightful content on two of my favourite bands, KC and Steely Dan.
Just discovered your channel, looks amazing!
It's painful seeing an artist being so closeminded. Anyways, happy New Year Pseudiom, hope in 2020 all stars will be aligned.
Hope they will for the next video! It is going to be a big one. Shaping up to be one of my favorites, but it is a project, or, should I say, Great Work.
Like any other alchemist.
I actually wholeheartedly agree with Robert Fripp's assessment, that the industry is in need of takedown. And I believe that the reasoning behind his battle with streaming services over posted KC property is to cut off any free outputs, so the industry giants would have no line of defense after they'd use it. It kind of hurt the fans, but it kind of made their music more exclusive.
Thanks. I'm glad to see your summation. Acknowledges both sides and gives a fair hearing like I tried to do in the video. People have a habit of instant reaction to either extreme in the issues.
For a while, there were King Crimson topic videos, but they appear to have all been taken down.
I don’t think Crimson was ever in the “Prog ghetto “....that belongs to Starcastle
King Crimson changed my life in 2001 when I heard Larks Tongue in Aspic and Discipline. Would be MANY MANY years until I found more fans of the band online. Blows my mind to think Fripp has been on the web almost all my life and so ahead of the curve.

I don't know why this video got recommended. Didn't even particularly like editing this one, though I did find the topic interesting. Hopefully it stays up though since DGM claimed ads on it. That rainbow lion got me into King crimson years ago. I just saw it in my recommendations on CZcams and clicked it. It just stood out to me and I felt even more gratified learning about its connections to Jojo's somewhere down the road
I like that you give the guy a fair shake in the video. It's easy to make a domineering monster out of a case like this but you did a good job showing both sides of the coin and how his motives are generally rather reasonable if his approach nevertheless seems overboard much of the time.
Yeah. I respect Fripp. I think he's incredibly odd, but there is an odd genius to him and his efforts in the music industry have a sort of Optimism to them. Still, his policies are really weird and I understand why people have problems with them. Especially with copyright being so arbitrary on CZcams. A lot of people think Fripp is "out of touch" but I think its more his personality if anything.
Is it just me or do Berserk's Behelits have a *STRIKING* resemblance to the King Crimson...maybe Araki isnt the only one being inspired by the legendary Magenta Marquis
The sad thing is how much they hurt their own notoriety for so many years. There's been a wave of people rediscovering older artists, especially the 70's prog icons that have real longevity for newer listeners, but Crimson was notably absent.
It's good to have your old stuff up here to proselytize.
I hope I helped proselytize to some degree, I don't want Fripp or King Crimson to change. He should do as he pleases, but there is always a danger to that. There's a happy medium I suppose, but I'm no musician.

But you didn't talk about the short-lived "The 21st Century Guide to King Crimson" album on CZcams (allowed by the Fripp) that literally only lasted like half a year
Wait, was that the one that got removed a few days ago? Or am I confusing it for the "In The Court Of The Crimson King" official upload that was up for a little bit? Because if it was just taken down, that happened like a day after I finished the video.
@@Pseudiom Yes, it got taken down literally right after the weekly uploads ended. The album that was a bit of a "greatest hits" with songs from every album.
By the way, nice video! :)
I have always been curious on what's going on in Fripp's mind with that strange philosophy he has developed over decades
"Nobody's perfect" implying it's a flaw in his character that he has 3 items on a list of requirements for hotel rooms: A room that isn't ridiculously small, with a phone, and for it to not be in the middle of nowhere. Or have I misinterpereted something?
That clip of Boss using King Crimson to destroy a laptop is basically Fripp when he sees a new upload of his music
Me when I see king Crimson...
I get the feeling that...SOMEONE'S TRYING TO SELL ME SOMETHING!!
I'm being rewatching your last three videos, you're really good working with music relates topics. I suggest you to look at the rabbit hole that was german music label "metal enterprises" and the whole "metalxploitation" they did, making fake lps fron fake bands and releasing some of the most bizarre metal related music ever.
Information accepted well Thank You Pseudiom Thank You, Fripp
Great video
Should look into Darren Lock's situation with King Crimson
I erased the copyright strikes and leapt past it.
Maybe he got mad over all those JoJo comments, just look at those disable cooments, and with Fripp personality, c'mon, he would get red with rage (or Crimson)
If JoJo fans annoyed Fripp to the point he disabled commentsa that would be hilarious. Especially since he's been very appreciate of Araki's refrences to him and King Crimson.
No E (or y) at end of gurdjieff.
Good vid! Thx
King Crimson may have invented Prog Rock, but they also invented Metal along with Black Sabbath. Zeppelin and Purple can bite my ass. Also, I don't know why Fripp uploaded the music and took it down after a few months
That's one sick video.
Whether you agree with Robert Fripp’s position on music copyrights, there’s no denying that King Crimson is incredible. They have been blessed with a roster of amazing musicians, from Bill Bruford’s percussion, Tony Levin’s bass and “Stick” playing, and Adrian Belew’s multi-instrument approach, to Bill Rieflin’s (of Ministry and Revolting Cocks fame!) metronomically precise drumming and Fripp’s virtuoso and revolutionary guitartistry. (Yes, I did just make up that word, accidentally at first but seemingly appropriate.)
I’m an old fart, though I didn’t start to listen to King Crimson until my mid-30s. I’m just two years away from hitting 50, so only a decade and a half of enjoyment. I was living in Southern California when my first wife (of 8 years) decided that she wanted a divorce- I was 32 at the time, and was crushed. But within a few months I turned 33 and began dating a 22 year old and very attractive girl, who enjoyed different types of music as much as I did. I introduced her to a lot of my old punk stuff, and she played King Crimson’s “Discipline” album for me on vinyl, and I was totally hooked. We split up after I moved back to the East Coast, but remained friends afterwards, and I still can’t thank her enough for playing that record for me. It made a great impact on my future musical enjoyment, and led me to many other groups that I would probably not have listened to otherwise.
I guess my point is that I do agree that musicians should be properly rewarded for the immense effect that they have on our appreciation of life, but I also think that people should be able to enjoy listening to music without having restrictions placed on how, when, or where. I don’t know what the answer is to making both of these things possible, but hopefully a solution that’s fair to the artists and their audiences will come to light, sooner rather than later.
TL/DR- I’m old and don’t like to talk to people in person, but like to leave long comments.
Imposible not to cringe at that quote of Gordon Haskell, sounds like a video game journalist hating on games for being hard.
EDIT: guess what happened to the Condensed 21st Century Guide to King Crimson on CZcams . Fripp never changes. The copyright war rages on.
Yeah, the Haskell quote is definitely painful. Granted, I think he is somewhat right about an aspect of Fripp's personality (his controlling nature), but it does not come off well. Though I do think Haskell definitely regrets it and him and Fripp have reconciled to some degree. He said that back in the 70's so tempers were definitely hot due to differences in artistic vision and the fact KIng Crimson was about to become global.
The story behind Gordon Haskell's stint with the band might shine more light on why he was so harsh in his words. See, he was the band's second vocalist after Greg Lake departed to join with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer in ELP, and only lasted for two albums (really just one), and never did a single tour with the band. Haskell was known for not being a fan of rock and roll at all, rather he was a fan of American R&B music. He never enjoyed his time in the band, and he was driven away along with drummer Andy McCulloch because of Fripp's demand for complete control over the direction of the music. There's a story out there of Fripp making McCulloch cry because he got so angry that the drummer couldn't master one of the tracks being produced for the album Lizard.
Haskell was really out of his element as a musician in the band. Fripp taught him on the spot how to play bass guitar, and he didn't have much love for what at the time was considered to be "underground rock".
@@nmk8475 you're thinking of Boz regarding Fripp's bass guitar lessons. Gordon was an ace bass player going back to his work with the 1960's band the Fleur de Lys...
@@careyatchison1348 i throught the one who learn bass on the spot whas John Wetton.
@@GabAssbreaker John Wetton's bass playing prowess was well known in Britain at the time through his days in the band Family (checkout albums 'Fearless' & 'Bandstand')
So this is how king crimson works
So he makes money from his life's work. And he hasn't turned over control to corporate overlords. And doesn't let other companies steal his stuff. The nerve!
@@GamingOS Because the terms stink! Why should artists feel forced to sell for less? And think about the scale of a Fripp economy. He isn't selling millions of downloads. He's got a small fanbase. How can he live on the pittance per download when he knows he'll get so few compared to the big commercial acts. Real art is worth paying for.
THE FRIPP MAN NEVER RESTS
I heard a recording on I think Pandora of tfcsm several years ago that was live from a pub or bar and it was super aggressive and better even than Hyde Park. It was unmistakably Greg Lake and the whole 1969 outfit (including McDonald). Sadly, I've never been able to find it again.
King Copyright: The Court of the Copyright King
they copystriked their own channel
in the end it proves that no one can truly control *Fate* even with *time skipping* itself
I have no idea why this was recommended to me. Never heard of King Crimson. But interesting video regardless.
KC finally accepts streaming service
Fans: finally
The mix are absolute trash to force you to *hate it* and you're force *to buy the physical album*
I did several King Crimson covers. For anyone interested, CZcams " Nelson Montana King Crimson."
Who knew? I have the album In the Court of the Crimson King on vinyl. Now if I only still had a turntable to play it on.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that, for a while (maybe still?), one could find King Crimson albums uploaded to P**nHub. :-)
i Remember hearing an interview about when Fripp started his signature stool sitting schtick. apparently he didn't enjoy standing and playing guitar in the beginning, wanting to set himself apart from other guitarists of the time (late 1960s). Greg Lake said he looked like a mushroom while he was sitting lmao. There was some bickering but someone (I think their manager at the time) caved in and said "bring this man a stool".
i am so glad i downloaded the best vesrion of epitaph when i had the chance
i cant wait to upload it
I wonder if I would get a strike if I uploaded my cover of Red.
There’s only one way to beat this.
REQUIEM
*korega...*
Beat good
one main question - when did Fripp learn to play guitar left handed?
I really don't see why people can't just buy the albums. They're like £7 each
I agree, but people seem to be constantly confused about why King Crimson is never on CZcams (until recently) so I made this video to explain Fripp's disposition.
I'm having an existential crisis now ... I'm completly blown away by the fact that the "Rainbow Lion Video" isn't actually the true version of of the song ...
I can't wait to reupload this video.
It's a way of doing things -RF
In The Wake Of Pseudiom...
Walter/Wendy Carlos is also notorious for takedowns of their music from all over the internet, so much so that it's virtually impossible to find any of their albums on any of the sharing/streaming services, youtube, etc. Only things you can find are fan covers/renditions or songs of theirs from movie soundtracks.
I am soooooo lucky that I inherited Switched on Bach on vinyl from my uncle when he passed. Now when I listen to that I’m gonna feel like I’m listening to something forbidden
"My stando, Emperor Crimson, is musical fascism, made by fascists, designed by fascists to erase time, to strip Jean Pier Polnereff of his Requiem Arrow and Stand." -🅱i🆎🅾l🅾(2005)
I wasn't aware of Fripp copyright mania...
I guess I am pretty old school, I bought all their album in CD and Disc...
ps: Listen to Bowie with Fripp on the guitar, it's just genius
Fripp recently sued Bowie’s estate because he claimed he should have been given writing credit-and thus, more royalties for those songs.
@@vaporman442 They were in discussions, no lawsuit has taken place, and he wasn't asking for writing credit. He asked to be listed as a "featured performer" which is what he did on those albums according to the other musicians present. Not sure that Fripp would be owed any royalties.
Fripp erased time and leapt past the video..
