Thanks for watching, everyone 👍 Did we miss anything? Tell us what YOU think the top mistake a beginner aquascaper can make is!
Don't panic and try to constantly change things to chase ideal parameters. Letting the system settle and get to work will provide better results than constantly trying to react to changes in the system.
In the same vein: never chase pH. Your pH is going to be your pH. Either buffer with active soil and/or use RO and remineralize with some kh+. chasing pH will always be a temporary, losing battle and pH fluctuations cause some of the worst struggles with plants and livestock in an aquarium (or even in your garden!) in my experience so far.
Logan’s back!! 🎉
I like the list. CO2 isn’t something to be afraid of, but it shouldn’t always be a requirement. Half of my tanks don’t have CO2. I can’t stress the plant heavy to start with though. That, light management, proper dosing and proper water changes really fixed most of my algae issues. I would add one more thing to a beginner list - do water tests!
I think knowledge about the appropriate fertiliser their dosage and schedule according to the type of plant mass and plant type is another problem and difficulty faced by beginner aquascapers which I faced personally during my initial days …this basically needs a thorough research about the plants and their biochemical demand as well as consulting with other senior hobbyist and aquascapers…which also places this point up in this list
Nice video with Logan!
Very! Very!! True. These are the key information to begin the wonderful journey.👍
Thanks guys. Really great advice. 😊👍
Great video! Loved the tips ❤👍
This is a great video! Shot very well with excellent information. I would say patience is a huge mistake:)
Would love to do this but I literally have no room at all.
A mistake I just made was not washing the aqua soil, I cleaned everything else so well including topsoil that went under some sand, even hovering lava rocks before rinsing them, then had all the things I needed set up, and I forgot to wash it, because it was with all the other stuff 😶
I am currently removing as much as I can so I can rinse that, and fill up and empty the tank a few times for the rest.
hopefully my water will not be opaque 😅
What aquasoil are you using? Typically, you should not rinse or wash aquasoil prior to adding to your tank!
So many newbies don't know that different plants have different requirements. Some just won't fit into your setup or water parameters. Do some research. Don't be afraid to learn and adjust your plan if you need to.
Yes, can't stress this enough! Do your research BEFORE finalizing plant choices for your aquarium. Thanks for sharing!
What will be good for tank to add root cap or change the soil little by little.. after a while?
Co2 has been a game changer for me
