I haven't paid for a tv license in over 30 years and still watch tv though none of the BBC's Marxist brainwashing pollution programs. However, the mailbox directly outside my private property on the easement regularly receives threatening letters from the BBC aggressively claiming they will visit my private property to check I'm not watching tv without a valid tv license. In over thirty years, not once has a tv inspector gained access to my private property, and their toothless letters are returned thus: RTS Addressee not Known (no one in my home named The Occupier). Occasionally, for satisfaction, I'll open a BBC letter and take it to the smallest room in the house, where it is soon behind me! Be brave and don't pay the b'stards!

Very impressive considering the low tech machinery. I used to machine the bearing journals in Napier Deltic engines on a purpose made line borer or they were put in a jig on a horizontal borer very similar to your set up but the shaft ran in the jig, this was back in the early 80’s as an apprentice, it was done exactly the same way just scaled up. We used to set the cutter height from a ground diameter on the line shaft using a little jig holding a DTI but it was always a nail biting moment when you took the cut as the tolerance was only 0.0005” on a bore of about 7”. In a very hot summer we had to machine the bores over size as the engine blocks where made from aluminium and the bores would be under size when they cooled down..
Great video 👍 can’t wait for Fabian’s engine to go wrong again 🤭 you know what I mean.. You’re all set up to do Vera.’s engine now also.

Christian I was here watching your video thinking have we worked together at some point in the past? The work and approach you take is almost the same as I do when bringing camshaft journals back into oil clearance specification on a Honda CBX 6 cylinder motorcycle. It is even down to the Sharpie pen in the bottom journal 😱 as I also don't have engineers marking blue. This is old School true engineering undertaken by past masters who I was fortunate to be taught by during my instrument making apprenticeship back in 1980. Like you my machine tools are limited but experience always shows you the way. Also make sure it has a clean oilchange record. Then you'll have a great car. Also make sure you familiarize yourself with the LR3 maintanence record and check if that all has been replaced. Otherwise you will be doing that. You can find that one on the Disco.co.uk website. 🙋‍♀️Vera

You remind me my older brother... also doing almost everything on his own... even he built his own commmon rail injectors testing rig...
You did a veeery nice job...

😅👍 That is great, I think our plan is to have the common rail injectors tested at a Bosch shop. Maybe we need to rethink that plan. 😃🙋‍♀️ Vera

To Christian, his father, and Vera: This is an amazing triumph of experience and can-do-it-ness. Truly inspiring.
To everyone else watching this video: Do not attempt this at home. Do not even think of it.

What a fantastic piece of engineering at home.
Also to do it with your Dad, that’s something you will never forget (l know this from my own experience), but you don’t need me to tell you that, you couldn’t buy that experience, precious time.
    Well done all of you.
    All the best, David.
Ps, new subscriber, nearly caught up with all your episodes.

You blow me away with what you achieve at home. Your engineering knowledge is something to be proud of and your dad may have a few useful tips he’s gain over the years for us all as well.
