    Coach Bluder knows the first rule of womens sports. Everybody matters. Credit to those who came before, as you are standing on their shoulders. This interview, Lynette Woodard is incredibly gracious, and deserving the recognition. Thanks JayHawks for letting the Hawkeyes borrow one of yours for the day. Oh, and Maya Moore thing, Iowa giving time to CCs childhood hero. What a special day

    Lynette Woodard and Caitlin Clark are both incredibly inspiring figures in the basketball world, each making their own unique mark. It's always so motivating to hear about athletes like them who not only excel in their sport but also inspire others along their journey. Woodard's trailblazing career has certainly paved the way for future generations, and now Clark is making waves with her talent and dedication. Their impact goes beyond just their scores and plays; it's about the passion they bring to the game and how they encourage young athletes to dream big and work hard. It's a reminder of how powerful sports can be in shaping not just athletes, but also the communities they touch.

    It just goes to show that folks that extend a hand and recognize "true talent", are the folks that will make this world a great place. These gestures are much more than moments on a basketball court. Lynette;;; definitely a woman full of many talents and I'm so glad that she was brought to the forefront. And of course, the great Maya Moore is always wonderful to see!!

More videos I found are interviews and also her award acceptance speech. Seems like a high quality and smart person who would make a great teacher and coach. See she also coached at Winthrop several years. Glad she is getting more notoriety as she deserves and hopefully more to come!

      When Plum was in college they were still the 128th most talked about sport and nobody cared. Clark has catapulted college women's basketball into the mainstream and theis level of attention will put more eyes on her and her records.

    • @avidadolares
      @avidadolares Před 4 měsíci +4

      Many reasons. CC has a strong fan base in Iowa that helps make noise literally and figurately in womens basketball. CC's logo shots set her apart from all the others. She has made the game exciting to watch for even non womens BB fans. CC has gotten a lot of media and celebrity attention for her logo shots and high scoring. Also Plum didnt actually pass Woodards scoring record which wasnt even highly acknowledged until recently... for whatever reasons. Those are just a few reasons. The timing of CC along with her range just caught on. Sometimes its all just timing and circumstances combined with her skills.

    In Iowa CC was popular before any of you even heard of her. Her scoring, that’s what brought the media, not her color. The way she handled her self after the game, that’s why they stayed.

      Possibly, but the NCAA made the Mistake by not Tying in the AIAW Records
      when they Sanctioned Women's B-Ball before Plum went on her run, which wasn't
      getting as Much Attention being out West & the East Coast bias;
      What should have happened is the Media / NCAA Recognizing Plum as the
      #1 Scorer in the 3-Point era then & @ the Least when Ms. CLARK was beginning
      to Close in w/ the Storyline of her Chasing Plum for the 3-Point era Record &
      Woodard for the Overall Mark; Keep in Mind, she played w/o the 3- Pointer
      and w/ the Same Sized ball as the Men as did the Div. 2 All- time Leader
      PEARL MOORE; it's a case of Women's Basketball falling down on the Job
      w/ less than professional Media Management & Historical Perspective &
      Accuracy, and even if there's Little or No Racial under-current, the
      Fact Ms. Woodard is Black is a "Bad Look";
      it also hurts the great White players of that AIAW Era like Anne Donovan,
      Nancy Lieberman, and Ann Meyers, but IOWA did a Great job of putting
      the Spotlight on it, which I knew Ms. CLARK & Coach Bluder would do
      Caitlin Clark and her Coach are too Smart & Versed on the History of the
      Sport to not use their platform properly; Very Classy

      @@_M....They are the same race lol, but I think the op might still have a point. Women’s basketball is on another planet now in terms of popularity, so more people are seeing Caitlyn do it than when Kelsey broke the record. And let’s be honest the fact that Caitlyn is white does contribute to her popularity, I think some of the backlash she gets is due to that fact. 🤔

      Pearl Moore played at a very small school. Those records cant be compared to the larger more competitive schools, genius. Theres a reason why no one disputes theres a significant difference in a small school vs D1. Maybe youre just not bright enough to use some critical thinking and logic...thats on you. I think you just want something to cry about.
