Fimir would probably be a good choice to research daemons, but good luck on negotiating a fair trade and on not getting sacrificed; a goblin shaman is actually in luck, if he can be bothered to behave he can go enjoy the hospitality of a Fimm clan with a very knowledgeable sorcerer or a Hag-queen and they will happily teach him about demonology.
