Yes, Dimash is classically-trained. He has a 6+ octave range (C2 to D8, sustained!) If you don't already know, he is famous in his own country of Kazakhstan, and he was invited by a Chinese music producer to compete in the "I Am a Singer - 2017" competition. The people you see backstage are other contestants. Dimash plays 7 different instruments, and in the competition, he sings in 7 different languages, with just 1 week between performances to learn each song. This particular song is a well-known French song (he is singing in French), and it is about a man pleading for his life (a very sad song.) My personal favorites in the competition are Ep. 4, "Late Autumn", Ep. 6, "Adagio", and Ep. 12, "Confessa + Diva Dance". Try to react to all of them. "Sinful Passion" is a later song that is terrific, as well. Dimash is about 6'3", and is now 25 years old. He calls his fans his "Dears". All singers get nervous here, no matter how many years on stage or how famous they are but this show is really famous and a self-proving thing so always high expectations. This is a classic (sad) French song, he changed it up a little from the original (not much but more his own style).
This dude is really on a whole different level. His range is ridiculous

Yep that's Dimash. This is just the beginning. He is absolutely amazing. You have to watch Sinful Passion at the Sochi. Adagio on the same show. This was 2017 he was 21. It's a show called China Sing. He was a wildcard. Every one else was a celebrity. That was his first performance. He wasn't a celebrity. You should watch all the performances. Each one is different. He sings in 10+ languages. He plays 6+ instruments. Hello Ladies....This is Dimash lol are you both ok? Dimash was on a show from China called I am Singer in 2017. You can go there and see all of his performances that he did. When he started on the show no one had ever heard of him and of course never heard him sing before, not even the other contestants on the show...by the second song ( Opera 2 ) the audience fell in love with him. Dimash was 22 on this show and is now going to be 25 this May. Dimash is from Kazakhstan where he started his singing lessons at the age of 5. Dimash is also trained in Opera. I hope you will do more of this talented young man. Dimash on the show also sings in different languages too. The song you just heard was in French...the song Confessa starts w/ Chinese but, he sings most of it in Italian also after that song ( same video ) he sings the Diva Dance....from the movie The fifth element. He made his debut in 1978 with a studio recording of songs, before the stage premiere in 1979. The main character sings this lullaby when he loses his beloved. This is a lullaby. Dimash can't be compared to anyone else. He is on completely different level. He is the greatest singer and vocalist of our time. He don't just sing. He can sing bass, baritone, tenor, soprano, rap, alien (as in Fifth Element)....etc. His incredible mastery in interpreting and conveying the very essence of every song he sing sets him apart from the rest. He can sing practically nearly anything in practically nearly every genres and in multiple languages. He is multi instrumentalist. He composes and arranges songs too. He is diamond of first water in music. Dimash is also the ONLY MALE who can sing The Diva Dance from The Fifth Element successfully live.multiple times.....the rest are all females. Those female singer's vwrsions are good.....but Dimash's versions surpassed them all. I know....because I've watched them all.
