In the past, very recent past, these people hanged. We are no longer doing that, but how else we fight these intruders, I don't know. I don't know what is considered "civilised" enough.

      @@AmandaabnamAwhen people are left to feel like outsiders they end up connecting with other outsiders. When they feel bitterness about feeling discriminated against, its a slippery slope. Especially in younger people, they are yearning for connection and searching to belong. They are young and dumb and it just leads to stupid and horrific decisions sometimes and its incredibly sad. When i see people talking about being anti immigration due to violence i don't think they realize them pushing these people out snd not allowing them to just belong is the root issue of many of these violent situations. Just to clarify i am agreeing with you haha.

    • @MackenzieNerdyEMT
      @MackenzieNerdyEMT Před 5 měsíci +2

      I also want to clarify my comment isnt about this video, it is a general statement. I am also not victim blaming i am simply saying when you make people feel like unwanted outsiders they tend to find others who are going through the same experience and its a slippery slope from there unfortunately. violence is never okay to me so when i say outsiders tend to find other outsiders and bond over their similarities its not saying carrying out violent acts id acceptable in any circumstance. seeing comments like this just makes me incredibly sad because its a dangerous ideology.

      @@filip000 im originally from the Netherlands and I was raised to appreciate multi-culturalism. I have no racist bone in my body. But the Swedish immigration is different. Because all the migrants I met in the Netherlands had to follow integration courses. And they gladly seemed to integrate into dutch society and accept Dutch values and culture. In Sweden the integration has been severely lacking. When I came here I had to go out of my way to get side courses in learning Swedish. It's shocking to see how few migrants even bother to learn swedish or accept Swedish culture. Especially seeing the father in this doc not speaking swedish after being here for over 20 years. It's rude and disrespectful to the host country.

      Residency needs to be stipulated on fluent home country language skills. Denmark has just instituted this along with all their other new immigration laws. They plan on knocking down social housing that has more than 40% non Danish born residents. They are uneducated, unskilled, not fluent, and permanent welfare recipients. Lessons learned at a high price.

  • @filip000
    @filip000 Před 6 měsíci +131

    Swedish people are nice and good....and very naive. Letting all the immigrants enter the country without a strict integration policy is what leads to these problems. Immigrants by default are not evil, corrupt, vicious or criminal...but there are such people. And if you check regular people with strict border patrols, with checking identities, background etc, then the same should apply for immigrants. Especially when they come from a culture that's completely different, and dare I say - incompatible with the domestic Swedish one. The terrorism that's plaguing Sweden is horrible, and it's going to be a huge problem to eradicate. For comparison, although not as nearly progressive nor successful countries, Poland and Hungary, they don't have these problems. Not because they're better than Sweden (they're not), but because they have very strict regulations regarding who they let in their countries. While I may think they're aggressive and primitive, at the same time, they are very successful in protecting their citizens from terrorists.

    • @Calyx
      @Calyx Před 6 měsíci +17

      At the end of the day integration policies were lacking for a very very long time and the chickens are now coming home to roost. People such as the father in this video living in Sweden for over 20 years not speaking swedish simply shouldn't be possible, but it is and it is widespread. Entire neighborhoods where Swedish is rarely spoken, a culture in government of adapting everything to the foreign languages and not being stricter on basic requirements is a failure of government and is the reason the left is failing to keep in power all over the European continent in the coming decade.

    Im Swedish and this is sad to see, there are no easy explanations or answers. Sweden has taken in large numbers of imigrants and the authorities has been naive and not had much of an strategy to integrate or welcome these imigrants. There where studies in the 80ies who predicted this but they where ignored and ridiculed. The average Swede is often very prejudice and does not like imigrants and yet the biggest insult there is in Sweden is to call someone a racist.
    Im not foolish enough to think that all imigrants are saints, they are the same idiots as the rest of us. Many have seen horrific things in their home countries and come from cultures with much harsher laws and punishments than Sweden. They act up and authorities and the society are way too scared to be accused of racism to do anything about the problems that exists, meanwhile racism brews under the surface. The way i see it, Sweden allowed this to happen and by that i dont mean "allowed immigration to happen", im pro-immigration and moved from Sweden myself which make me an imigrant.

Here in Italy we have mafia, camorra, 'ndragheta, etc... Are they from abroad? No. They are indigenous. Because the south of Italy was exploited by the north for economic growth, abandoned when not needed, and harvested for votes by political parties. Where there is no state helping you out, protecting you, defending your rights, people have no other choice but to join forces outside of tha law that is basically against you, instead of aiding you. The state, people outside your circle, the law, they become enemies, instead of uniting. Add to that the rich part of society exploiting you, and treating you like a dump (even literally: here we have rich industrialists of the north, evading costly taxes for disposing of industrial dangerous wastes, in cahoots with gangs in the south to create open-air illegal dumping sites, that cause thousands of cancer deaths...), and you have the birth and radication of gangs in the poorer parts, as a defense against politically-protected rich layers of society. Gangs have a hard time in well living areas. If they prosper, it's because of the greed of richer parts of society, political convenience, social injustice. The idea that Robin Hood was a romantic story has to deal with the harshness of reality. These people are Robin Hoods, in a way, in the sense that they help one another, and the part of territory they control, because they need their neighborood's support. But they are also in constant competition among themselves to enlarge their domain. And money is at the center of it all. Money and drugs. But why are drugs creating all this money? Because the society wants it. When you buy your happiness pill , or your happiness powder, you're detached from the violence behind them, but you're part of the problem, because you're financing the underworld. What gangs mean is that a society is corrupted at every level, and that that country has a huge problem. Not just in poorer areas, but at its very core, at every level.

      That is why immigration shouldn't be the last stop and done en masse. Integration takes time and it should have been done slowly. They need to pause immigration and allow time for these areas to integrate or pressure them to leave if they don't want to get their act together. Unfortunately, they now have 2nd generation immigrants who are Sweden born, and now view Sweden has having 'systemic' problems (it will now).

Uncertain job markets, uncertain housing markets, uncertain future with climate change. And you have capitalism in severe decline in the West while the East flourishes more. They are angry, hopeless, and have given up. And now the various industries and methods used to exploit developing nations have turned back on us with a vengeance. They take in these immigrants in the name of empathy, tolerance, and progressiveness, but in the end the mass importation of cultures that do not share these same values ends up hurting those most vulnerable to violence and harassment within their society. It is not progressive to import regressiveness. It is so much less safe and pleasant to live in Sweden today than it was 20 years ago, especially for women and gay people. If western European nations don't wake up they won't have tolerant, progressive, peaceful societies by the end of the century, and the people whose rights they claim to care about will pay the most.

    While an increase in violence is never good, it’s important to keep in mind that this perception of Sweden is all relative.
    I live in Chicago. We had 201 shootings and 52 homicides in October alone, which was actually a 19% decrease from October 2022. I love the city, it’s a wonderful place to live that is so much more than its violent headlines, but there’s obviously still a gun violence problem. I’m not trying to make this a competition on who’s got the most violent city, but rather it’s important to keep in mind that Sweden, even in its most violent areas, is likely the closest thing to a utopia to most people on a global scale. And unless you bump up your crime by 10x to get to our levels here in Chicago, I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Hope Sweden changes for the better regardless of course.

      People often say my city, Malmö, is one of the most dangerous in Europe, but we’ve had 6 murders this year I believe.
      Then I look at cities of similar sizes in the US, like St. Louis, and they’re at over 200 murders.
      For reference Malmö has a population of about 350k.

    Sweden is a very 'collective' country and it has quite rigid social norms. It can be difficult to feel connected and feel part of the society in social and economic terms. It is rich and most people are skilled workers. If you don't fall into this category, are poor, uneducated, not ethnically white and even religious in a largely irreligious country, it can be understood how people would begin to live parallel lives. Sweden has a high amount of social housing blocks (one million programme) which has been a success up to now - due to a lack of assimilation they have turned into ghetto's. The Swedish government has simply been naive in letting so many people move to their country. You can't help everyone
