That island where Terrible Tilly is sounds Lovecraftian. And Varosha sounds like it would be a perfect place for people doing post-apocalypse movies and videos.
I used to watch your vids when you didn't speak and we had to read everything. Since I tend to listen when I can't watch it lead me away from your vids. So glad I came back to find audio! Happy to be back!
I'd like to see a full 30-40 minute video on 1 or 2 stories so you can go into more detail about some things, your channel is great & I know short videos are your thing so just an idea 💡 I'm sure more people would like to see that also
I remember hearing about the lighthouse in the first story. The locals didn't want it because they did business with wrecking and did not want that business interrupted. If I remember correctly, there were numerous occasions of sabotage.
10:53 That's Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. Did not expect to see my state here in such a way, but it was hilarious recognizing it! You just can't mistake the Dolle's sign - it was only recently removed!
@@MagdaleneDivine I didn't realize I was talking. Just typing. Also: If you don't have enough room under your arms, the "leg pit" as a safe alternative.
Officials of that resort town should advertise it to Hollywood as the ideal place for the next big blockbuster Post-Apocalypse film. The setting, unfortunately, already exists. No need to build sets.
Pleasant surprise to see my native Estonia's Patarei included! I went on a tour there a few years back and it was really cool and interesting. Can't wait to visit again.
Ummm…that’s not a “fact”. The “fact” is that Cape Disappointment is in Washington. Another fact is Portland is in the state of Oregon. Last fact…Oregon is not the same as Washington.
@@j.robertsergertson4513 Makes me wonder if it was part of their inspiration, but the story I heard was Carpenter and Debra Hill checking out some weird ground fog while visiting Stonehenge 🤔
Are people allowed to visit these areas? I would love to check them out, but not badly enough that I am willing to risk getting arrested in order to do so. That would be a nice detail to include in future videos when possible
🌊😱🏰 Wow, Terrible Tilly's island does have a Lovecraftian vibe to it! The eerie and mysterious atmosphere must make it a captivating place to explore. And Varosha does sound like a post-apocalyptic movie set waiting to happen. Imagine the haunting visuals and stories that could unfold there. These abandoned places have a way of sparking our imagination and curiosity. I'm fascinated to learn more about them. Thanks for sharing these intriguing locations with us! 🗺🎥🔍
I'll go anywhere pretty much. Except Snake Island off of Brasil and Sentinel Island off of India. Also, I'll stay out of places where I'd be considered a trespasser. That was a $400 citation back in the 90s and not something I'd like to repeat.
If I were rich, I'd love to visit these places.......go around the world visiting "ghost towns" and abandoned mansions, hotels, hospitals, castles, etc. Some of them I'd even love to purchase and renovate.
I want Fort Alexander. I’d plant the roofs with forage, and let my goats roam there and through the inner courtyard area. Visitors could pay to come and roam around with the goats.
Patarei Prison is currently being turned into a shopping and event center. Got super baked once inside the prison's library. Some of the bigger cells could house 20+ people. They had some insane old Soviet style art on the walls of big breasted blondes with long flowing hair and swords and wolves and skulls and stuff. The room where they hung inmates was turned into the janitor's room.
I had no idea it had been opening back up. Families have been fighting for years to be able to go back to their homes, get items of their families. You run across videos where people were trying to sneak video/photos of the area and the military would go in and take their stuff.
The number of comments your videos have versus the subscriptions is concerning/ confusing. If you want help on ideas to boost your numbers I am happy to help (laid off so yeah. But honestly I don’t make videos I just know logic and how you should be prioritized more in peoples’ feeds. I’ve visited Varosha twice and have spent many hours cycling on the newly tarmac’d roads there. Very interesting place

Dang.. living here in Oregon.. in Tillamook.. this is the first time l have heard of this..
Terrible Tilly sounds like the lighthouse from Bioshock haha.
Tillamook ice cream rocks!

Is it just me or does the history of Terrible Tilley sound EXACTLY like John Carpenter's 'The Fog'?!

There are lots of interesting stories about the "terrible Tilly" light house out here on the north Oregon coast!
How is the lighthouse responsibile for the first tragedy ?
Oh Well, Tilly just took everything way too seriously.
It’s not necessarily the lighthouse that is responsible. The ship crashed on Tillamook Rock, which is the tiny island where the lighthouse was built
There are places which are indeed haunted. Think most horroble is that abondoned lighthouse. I think really bad place.
I enjoy the videos but I really like the theme music.
Honestly, the torpedo base doesn’t sound all that “sinister” or “dark.” The Soviet prison sounds darker.
Is it weird that I found solace the dog survived?

Varosha would be perfect to pick your own house. They been abandoned since the 70’s. Pretty sure salvage rights come into play. ??
