I’ve been drumming for 9 years on an acoustic kit but I’m moving and won’t be able to bring my main kit so I just bought this one, great kit!
Same boat :(
are you able to use 3 pedals (hi hat, and double bass) while also adding 2 more cymbals or would I need some sort of adapter?
@@_IRONJAW no dbl bass ever
I find the cymbals to be too quiet compared to the snare and toms. It's either you'll have to buy a different module (that might require changing both pedals) or doing some soldering work. But anyways, it's a good kit overall.
@@_IRONJAW bro you can add 8 more devices to your system the alysses Nitro mesh has dual zone for all Toms that means you get four dual zones built in Plus one Dual Zone on the tone for on the modules back plus you got symbol symbol for on the modules back so you can connect almost as many as you want I'm utilizing the double bass now as well
Sorry I didn't see this was on the turbo I was commenting on the Nitro I just bought a Metro to switch from the Alexis turbo which is so bad so basic I had no clue how bad basic cheap and awful sound the electrical meshold but the Nitro is f****** crazy I love it I recommend all of you to sell the turbo ASAP sell it in turbo speed and buy the Nitro you will not regret it and it's like 7200 difference
Good as a starting kit. I suggest buying it if you have a pc and a DAW to hook it up to and use it as a MIDI controller with decent VST plugins like Superior Drummer etc., that way it starts to sound pretty good as the sound processing is all left to your pc, cause the factory sound preset are kinda meh and you cannot adjust tuning, decay, or rearrange the position of the drums and cymbals, things that you can do if you use it with a DAW.
I use it in pair with a Percpad with a kick drum pad and pedal and use the Alexis turbo switch kick pedal as a second kick like a sort of double pedal.
bro thanks for mentioning how you can rearrange the kit. i just got this kit and had a lot of questions ab how to get double bass going
Appreciate the review, im getting this exact set for my birthday here in a couple weeks
Casey Dale Bro same xD
@@L_V_Z nice! I actually just got mine a couple days ao, really loving it!
Nice dude, im getting it for Christmas, on good thing about electronic drum kits is that I can play all day and nobody will hear me.
@@Hawiianlion67 that's exactly why I chose these
@@caseydale5862 Hey how are you finding it? I especially want to know do the pedals have any velocity sensitivity or are they basically on/off buttons? Can you do light kicks for example? Do the hi hats open/closing etc. trigger alright?
Thank you so much for this review, I will definitely look into this kit especially since me and my friends were thinking of starting a band and it’s been my dream to play drums. Another benefit for me is that this would be able to fit in my room, and my room is really small so this is perfect for me
wow so random and late but I'm doing the exact same thing. I have a tiny room in an apartment so can't be too loud, but I've always wanted to play drums. Best of luck to you :)
IM DOING THE EXACT SAME THING TOO
im doing the same thing omg
did u get it? is it good haha
i have been playing 40 years and my family just bought me this kit for Christmas and Chanukah, I LOVE IT. I think it is as good if not better than an acoustic. The only issue is that the bass pedal is a little sensitive, LOL if you call that an issue. LOVE IT.
The Roland is better and sounds like real acoustic
True 😂
Just bought it ! I haven’t played the drums in 7 years, I’m a little bit rusty, but still got it. Let’s see how it goes with this kit once it arrives.
its been a week, has it arrived and is it good?
L L did you get it. are you satisfied with it
I also haven't played in several years, but for some reason my interest was sparked recently. Thinking about buying it for my small apt., depending on how much noise is made when hitting the drum heads.
It's been a year, are you satisfied?
I just got this drum kit for Christmas yesterday and I love it! I am a starter so it is good for a first kit
@mixer eku what the fuck do you know… Guarantee the only instrument you play is a fucking computer that uses loops real musicians like us play… You fucking absolute moronic trash bag

@mixer eku or... because you’re an ignorant child maybe, you shut up?
do you need a speaker for the drum to work
@@mellebo4112 no you can have your earphones plugged into it but you are going to need to have an aux cord to Connect your music up to
My wife just got that kit today. First time drummer. We assembled it without any problems. The sound and features are good for the buck. I just there was a tutorial on all the functions of the brain A-Z.
3:46 ....mmm...sounds pretty convincing...perhaps I will go for one of them...
Great electronic drum! 🥁 🎶 🤗
Been doing a search for my home studio and a kit for my missus to play, as she’s the actual drummer at home. And this kit seems a distinct possibility, with the mesh heads.
Good call to look at the Nitro kit to get a proper drum beater...
Cheers chap.
Beautiful drum kit! Sounds great too!
Tu desempeño es muy bueno. Agradecemos sus explicaciones. abrazos!!!
This thing sounds pretty good.
Hearing “Johnny the fox meets jimmy the weed” here my guy, MUCH LOVE TO ANYTHING LIZZY!!! Brian Downey is so underrated
Does the volume vary on all of them, with how hard you hit them? are there zones on the pads, such as a different sound on the rim of the snare vs the center of the snare?
Sounds good!
How do the hi hats handle? is the open and closing a bit finicky and unnatural?
Se le podra incorporar sonidos q sean mas naturales??
Genial saludos cordiales desde Patagonia Chile
How do you silent the crash i cant silent mine and also when i tap the snare plays
Hi, if you change the kit around for left handed are the cables long enough to reach.
Damn that kit sounds like when you played rock band and you could play with the drums
Shiet...
can i load my own drum samples as wav? every kick, snare, hihats etc
Hi fellow musicians! Faced a problem. I connected drums through Addiktive drums2.In some pads, for example, volume 1 sounds like a hat, in the snare flora. How to arrange the value of the pads on these drums (in the settings there isn’t this model by default, since it is new ) + when you hit the pads, the sound of the module itself and adddrum2 come on. How to arrange the value of the pads and so that the sound is only from the program, and not from the module ?? Can someone help, can someone have a video review, or can do? Thanks in advance !
hi i know this is late but hopefully still not too late. with Addictive drums 2 you need to map them out. Click on the ? mark on your far top right side of the window and youll see map window and you need to configure each pad to their own tuning. not sure if this make sense but thats what i do..
Is your frame bouncing around unstably because your carpet and your hardwood flooring are at uneven levels?
does this kit have velocity? Like, if you play lightly does it emulate that?
Great video! Having problems with the pedals. Do you know where to buy these accessories? Any other options for the pedals?
Let's say you want to set up a low budget studio and want something easy to recordable for drums, will it do the job?
Cause as of now I am using the inbuild drumtracks from my kawaii Digital piano, which is very monotone.
I don't have a lot of budget so except from hoping for a good deal on eBay I don't have a lot of other options, do I?
Would you recommend this kit as a midi controller for kontakt ?
Not sure on that specific software, but on GarageBand it works great
I hope the teacher from Whiplash didn't see this guy play.
THAT'S NOT MY F$%@ING TEMPO!
Lol
I think he was dragging.
No es mi puto tempo!
@@LESPossible NO HE WAS RUSHING 😂😅
I want to learn to play the drums for my home studio recordings and general knowledge. Would this be a good enough kit for starting practicing?
Yes it will be
i need help, does anybody knows if this pads can work with a roland module?
When people do these e-drum reviews it would be good to know how much noise is made hitting the heads. And would be good to know if you can choke the cymbals?
All you hear are fairly audible thumps. Much quieter than an acoustic kit. Hitting a tennis racquet with a drum stick will give you an idea of the noise level, although it's not exactly the same. Most electronic cymbals these days have a choke capability, so I'm sure these do as well.
It's not noisey or clacky as all mesh heads very quiet.
You cant choke them sadly...
Uf ur living in an flat, no way the prevent the noise coming from the kick. I did isolation 3x still get complains I have roland 17-kvx
@@larsulrich26ulrich42 this kick pedal is digital so it's pretty much quietter than most electronic drums
I have been playing for about 5 years and u dont have my own kit. And I've been thinking about this one but i cant decide between this one and the roland tk 1k so what do you think i should buy
Can this drums change the assigned instruments
How do I adjust/change the sound so it sounds better.now they dont sound very good in my opinion.boring and like im sitting in a big industryhall, I got them last week and thinking already to sell them and buy something else.thanks i have acustic drums too to play on.
Where does the sound come from? Do you need to plug it in on an amplifier?
Warning: The drum sounds are drenched in reverb and the cymbals are so low in the mix as to be almost unusable. I'm sorry I didn't spend a little more money for better product.
Could you manually set the drum pads and cymbals from the brain?
Is the rim on the snare drum usable to make the same sound as on a real kit? Played the drums for a year and a half and wanted to get back into drumming. Living in an apartment, a real drum set isn't an option though. Also how loud are electronic sets?
As loud as you want to make it. But no, unfortunately the rims don’t make any noise
They’re about as loud as a practice pad. Nice thing about this kit is the hi hat and bass pedals don’t make hardly any noise so in an apartment setting the only real noise would be from hitting pads and cymbals.
I had this kit for 6 months now, previously had Roland hd1. Mesh heads great tho no rim shot or cymbal choke, tho you can choke snare with pedal flam .All drums and cymbals have 2 sounds levels when hitting light or firm. 7 acoustic kits 3 world kits. Metal sturdy rack. You cant do double bass kick with this kit. Excellent for basic drumming, want to go to intermediate drummer youll find it's limits, but have fun on the way .
Was the Roland HD1 better?
@@nicogecko8674 not really pretty even, hd1 has double bass kick pedal mode for rock kit as nitro can't do it. Turbo has a few more rock kits than hd1 neither have cymbal choke or rim shots. Both great starter sets for standard drumming techniques.
@@njscothern3250 but can the Turbo change the cymbal pedal to a double kick/bass?
@@glirzaum Midi onto computer with drums software.
How can i exit the training mode? I cant figure out the button combination
Can you set the hi hat pedal to a bass trigger?
hello drummers.question for you.Is there a possible way to put a double bass or kick drum on this type of drumset.
P.S.I just got the kit as a present.
EDIT:I did not mean to put a link about plastic surgery:)
Did you find this out? I’m curious as well.
does it have a side rim shot on the snare drum?
Hi, beginner drummer looking to buy a first kit -
Alesis turbo mesh kit or Aroma TDX 16?
So I just bought this gift from the original owner and I was told the pedals are laggy and don’t seem to work well right now. Should I just order the pedals online? Or is there something else that could be done? Thanks.
What do you do if of the drums aren't working. You can't change a cord into the drum
I have a Mapex tornado with zyjiden symbols and a tama lal 1455 snare drum and I’m getting this set for when I’m in my school I need an electric kit cause I can’t play acoustic inside the music room cause it’s to loud can’t wait to get it have it ordered of thoman
I just got it. But the kick pedal double triggering most of the time. I replaced the pedal of kick bass with hi-hat, stil the double triggers still happening. No choke. Hi hat volume too low. No configuration or sensitivity adjustment. Good for beginner tho. I'm returning it and getting the better model (nitro). Or HXW is also in the same price range.
You can adjust the sound for each different pad
How can you adjust the sound of each cymbals
@@MrTonycarpets Im sorry, you can't. I mixed it up with the Nitro
Ok cheers for getting back
Posso usar ela em qualquer VST de bateria?
Did i just hear the intro of The Shaggs' "My Pal Foot Foot"?
is there a video game or similar to connect the electronic drum kit to the computer?
How does this compare with the Nitro or the Surge? Not sure what the pros and cons are with these different models.
Nitro has bass drum tower while Turbo doesn’t. Surge is basically a bigger and more durable version of the nitro, better rack than nitro. I’d recommend the nitro, best bang for buck in my opinion.
To add on to what philosopher said, nitro has better module and is much more practical to carry than the surge. Or, you can go with the donner ded200 which has dual zone cymbals but worse built in sounds.
@@pannacottafugo7777 I ended up getting the surge then eventually upgrading the module to the command one, and upgrading the snare to the strike one. So it's kind of an alesis frankenstein but I dig it lol.
Can I connect it to an external amp using a jack wire?
it may have been mentioned in the video, but can you connect a phone/laptop to play along with your own song preferences rather than always having to play with the songs that already come with the kit?
Yes plug to the mono
There's an aux in stereo minijack for that
I have this it’s great for practice
Anyone know if you can change the ride to a crash so you have 2 crashes?
Yep
Good drums! But the volume of the cymbals is not enough! Can l somehow increase the volume of the cymbals on the module? And then the closed hat sounds louder than the open ...
Maybe he use it back
If it's possible, i don't know how to do it. But as of right now, no.
Hi, do you still have the same problem? I was thinking into getting this kit but after reading the comments...I'm not sure if I still want it :/
@@douglasaracena19 if you want a cheap set, and your either a beginner or just need anything you want get your hands on, i say do it. If you got a pretty big budget, then get something else
10 months have passed. Did you buy this? Do you confirm the volume issue?
Alesis Nitro mesh or Yamaha DTX-452K?
I'VE SOMEONE WHO WOULD SELL THIS YAMAHA TO ME AT THE SAME PRICE AS ALESIS NITRO CAUSE HE USED IT FOR 1.5 YRS
Ordered this kit. Sent it right back. The rims are wayyyy to high and the mesh heads aren’t even as sensitive as the rubber pads on my Roland SD-1K set.
I wanna learn drums but I don't have room for an acoustic kit/they're too loud for where I am, can I use a guitar or bass amp to get sound in place of only using headphones? also, does the wattage of the amp matter?
You can but the quality is a little bad, at least with mine. But I’m not sure if the wattage matters. Perhaps that’s why mine sounds a little bad haha.
Have a sony in-ears for 9 bucks/eur/sterling/whatever. Forget about using an amp.
Yes. Use a daw for better sounds.
Does the no pedal tower feel weird?
I wanna buy a drum but I couldn’t make decision between Yamaha dtx500k and Alesis nitro mesh which one you offer? I need your help
In my oppinion the Alesis Nitro is way better. And IT makes less sound
Can anyone say if these drums will make a lot of noise when hitting the drum heads? Is this a suitable kit for a small apartment?
Have owned 2 mesh kits. The sound is very minimal. Shouldn't be problem.
For me, the foot petals are more loud due to the vibration on the floor. But some carpet and stuff on it and it shouldn't be too much of a bother
do the drums have sound without being plugged in to a monitor? or will I need to purchase a monitor to be able to get any sound?
Yeah you need a speaker, otherwise you just gotta use headphones
Buy a cheap used solid state practice amp for electric guitar (10 watt amps). You can just plug into it via instrument cable and it will work fairly well for a very cheap price! Just don't apply any distortion/overdrive effects lol. Only go this route if you're jamming at home on a budget.
I got this kit yesterday and im not impressed 😢 cant get a clean hi hat splash or any kind of sound from it really( its too low) and same for ride cymbal 😢 im thinking about taking it back or taking the brain hi hat pedal and cymbal in to see if its just me
Is there a possibility to use a hi-hat pedal as a drum pedal to play double bass?
Not on this particular model, but on the Nitro mesh you can set up a Double pedal (because of the Physical Bass Drum) it's roughly $100 More expensive with a price of 399 vs. 299 for the Shown Turbo mesh
Totally untrue you can edit both the sound of the hi hat pedal to a bass and also can edit the hi hat close and open midi outs to be double bass. Dont lie to this man lol
@@DewgittyDewg how can you do that? I'm dying to know
@@jameshopkins972 not gonna drop an entire guide in the comments. But search alesis nitro double bass on here even. Many guides. Its pretty much universally the same setup. @@metalheadblues the sound for one is very unreal in comparison to higher end electric kits like a roland or even a alesis nitro. Additionally, one of the challenges i identified from day one is that the pedals and particularly the kick is very sensitive. You don't get rim shots nor cross sticking.Generally the sound is very unreal in comparision to higher end kits and certain dynamics that you may want to get u simply won't with this kit. It's an excellent low budget starter kit that sells a lot and I've seen it in many small churches that are working with a budget.
