    We know how difficult it is to master digitizing, so this episode is the first in a series of digitizing-focused videos! Because remember, no matter if you’re doing the digitizing or outsourcing it to someone else, you need to understand the basics of how a good design should be digitized.
    In this video Willy uses Chroma Luxe to manually digitize a patch. While Chroma offers an auto-digitizing feature that allows you to upload your design and have it digitized with a few clicks of a button, in this video, Willy is going all out and teaching you how to digitize this design manually and without the auto-digitizing feature.
    He shows you the best tips, tricks, and tools to use on Chroma Luxe and explains the basics of digitizing. You’ll learn what to look out for and things to consider for different projects. In addition, you’ll have a better understanding of the different kinds of backing and materials you will be embroidering on.
    Once the digitizing is complete, Willy tests his patch design using the MT-1501. He then shows you how to make sure your design is perfectly digitized and how to go back to the software to fix common mistakes. In the end, you’ll see side-by-side comparisons of his first design and his edited design.
    PLUS, Willy shows you how to adjust your machine speed and tension to make sure you can embroider your patch at 1,000 spm and complete a full production run, so sit back and enjoy this super informative episode of Embroidery Hub!

    OK, I did follow up today and stitched a patch without the felt. Stitched it directly onto the cut away stabilizer just like Willie did in the video. Turned out just perfect. In fact, there was less push and pull to deal with. So, from now on, all of the patches I do that are totally covered with stitches will be done directly onto the stabilizer. Thanks Willie for saving me lots of money on premium felt!

    Hello Willie: This is your adopted Mom. I loved your latest video. How did you use the lighter to clean up the circular outside edge and NOT burn the patch or your fingers. Also, how did you go from trim mode to sequence mode in the lower right hand corner?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi there! Willy emailed you this response: As long as you’re using a thick stabilizer a lot of thread density and a big enough patch you should have the same outcome. you don’t wanna use any plastic or rubber materials because it could melt and/or shrink you also don’t need a lighter you can use a heat gun but I think that probably could burn so be careful. For the second question, you have to use a stitch tool on the selection box on the left of the screen. then you’ll notice the Trina will appear on the right side of the screen on the sequence area then you can then select the trims you don’t want to delete them. if you want to add a trim on all the different parts of the design you can go to the command box on the top right of the screen and select the end command as a trim.

    Am new to Ricoma, my EM1010 to arrive at end of the month. So am watching as many videos as possible before machine arrives. When you did the multiple run, wouldn't it have taken less time to have machine do one color for each patch multiple times? So say the yellow color sun, have the machine stitch each sun for each patch in the run before changing to the next color?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Před 2 lety

      Hi there, so a patch is a single design, and the design is digitized once. The digitized file is one sole patch, and to make multiple in one run you then duplicate the design on your hoop as many times as you want. But each design (patch) will finish itself since it is one file.
      So let's say you want one patch, it will embroider all the colors and then stop once the patch is done.
      If you want two patches, you set the machine to embroider two of the design, if you want three, you add another. The only way it would go through an do one color for all the patches first, is if you digitize a design that has multiple patches in it.
      However, that would mean you would never be able to embroider just one patch, you would have to embroider all the patches you created in your digitized file.
      I know it's a little complicated, but once you see how loading the file onto the computer works you'll understand.

    How about giving the full software to people that purchase your machines instead of the payed demo version? Kind of a crappie feeling to not be able to fully utilize a machine that coast more then my truck because you guys want to get another $1,400 out of us. I'm trying to get started and don't have $1,400 just laying around and I hate the idea of having someone digitize for me. It's like buying a new car but the dealer ship only gave me a quarter of my key and now want me to buy the rest of it or just get an Uber. As a new customer and a beginner in embroidery this is a huge kick to the gut and really sets me back. Please for the sake of your customers just give us the full software with our machines.

    How to digitize. Step 1: Buy 2000$ software, okay never mind then...

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi there, Investing in digitizing software for embroidery is worth it for several reasons. With this software, you can easily create and customize embroidery designs to fit your preferences. It automates many tasks, making the embroidery process more efficient, especially for complex designs or large-scale projects. The software also improves the quality of designs by optimizing stitch placement and minimizing thread breaks. It's versatile and compatible with various embroidery machines, and while there's an initial cost, it saves money in the long run by eliminating outsourcing expenses. Overall, digitizing software empowers embroidery businesses to create high-quality designs efficiently, boosting competitiveness.

    • @MortenBN1988
      @MortenBN1988 Před 3 měsíci

      @@ricomatv my point is that a person that invests 2000$ in digitizing software already know how to embroider.. so all the how to videos (from several channels besides this one) are basically pointless and only made to show off the software. Not to help people. If you wanted to get people into the hobby you would make the software cheaper. It makes no sense for people like me to buy software that is 2.5 times as expensive as the machine (a B70 Deco). For a hobbyist there’s is no “initial cost that is worth it in the long run” because there’s no income or outsourcing. We just stick with inkstitch etc.
