    Hey, I recently started looking at CWRU as a school I want to apply to and I think it really appeals to me. But I would like to know, what's the curriculum like and how does it cater to pre-med students? Thank you
    PS: I really liked your video

      hi! so sorry im just getting to this now, but case is a wonderful stem school and has plenty of opportunities to get involved very easily wether that be doing research, working or volunteering at the hospital, getting involved in clubs etc. the courses are challenging but they also prepare you!

    Hey!! I'm thinking about committing to Case soon for the class of 2027! What would you say grading is like for classes? Do a lot of prof grade on a curve against other students or more so a traditional way? Are they understanding about grades and does everything you take to reflect on your transcript--for example let's say you drop a class?

    • @jordynmacias444
      @jordynmacias444  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I am sooo sorry for such a late reply! For nursing courses a 91% is an A but for other classes an 88% can be an A. It really just depends on the prof and the class! If you drop a class before the drop/add period it wont show up on your transcript! A lot of profs are understanding abt grades and it depends on each one if they will round or curve or not.

    i have been binging your videos, i want to apply to cwru early decision! do you have any tips?

    • @jordynmacias444
      @jordynmacias444  Před 2 lety

      so exciting! i think my biggest tip i can give is to have a really strong common app. essay! it will not only make you stand out apart from your extracurriculars and grades, but it helps give the admission team to look at you as a whole person with real life experiences and make them want you apart of their community. also get good recommendation letters if you can! another thing i can say is to tour case if you can/if you haven't already to make sure you really like it and can picture yourself here! if you're considering another school for ED as well, make a list of like different things that the schools offer to narrow down your decision of where you'd like to officially ED to, but if you don't end up doing ED there is always EA if you're really unsure! one thing for sure with ED tho is make sure you know that you 100% want to go there before you submit your app!

      thank you so much !! I am doing the pre-med track as an international student so I do not think I can tour but I have been doing tours online and i really love it

      so glad that you love it! there are many places apart of case also that aren’t featured in online tours so it’s super fun to find little study spots and explore, there are still a lot of places on campus i haven’t been to yet even. but it’s very beautiful especially in the fall with the changing colors! @@OMOOLUWAKIITE

    Hii can you tell about your extracurriculars and sat GPA in order to get into cwru??

    • @jordynmacias444
      @jordynmacias444  Před 2 lety

      sure! i had around a 4.5 weighted gpa. extracurriculars included:
      - cheer 4 years
      - dance 3 years
      - National Honor Society member
      - Best Buds member
      - IMPACT club coordinator and mentor
      - NAMI co founder and president
      - California Scholarship Federation member
      And I didn’t get to take the SAT because of COVID.
      Also, these are just my stats. Your admittance will be looked at holistically including your essay, your intended major, your stats, and how many they can accept that year, etc. You got this:)

      @jordynmacias444  Před rokem

      yay! theres the dining hall for food but also other places that you can use meal swipes on campus! overall i would say the food is pretty good, ofc sometimes meals are not the very best at times but there are options to choose from. theres also $50 "case cash" that is added onto your meal plan so you can eat at other places like chipotle or get ice cream!

      @@carinag4635 I personally don't have my car because I am from California, but a lot of the time I wish I did. it helps a lot if you want to get off campus really quick or need to pick someone up from the airport! that being said, i make do without a car and theres public transportation available but it'd also be nice to have one!

    I am currently deciding whether to commit to Case for nursing. What part of this program appeals to you and what do you like ( and not like) about Case? Also, how did you ultimately chose Case over other colleges you've accepted to?

      early clinicals are everything here at case!! with Cleveland clinic and Uh the opportunities you have here are amazing.. and have you seen the HEC?? If you are passionate about nursing, this is the place.

    • @jordynmacias444
      @jordynmacias444  Před 2 lety +2

      hi! what made case stick out to me the most was starting clinicals freshman year. it’s really beneficial for us to start immersing ourselves in that community and being able to start interacting with patients right away! because of clinicals freshman year also, i’m able to have a job as a nursing assistant in the icu which i wouldn’t be able to do without clinicals, but if you want to wait for a job too, there’s absolutely no pressure to get one! what’s amazing also is that there are so many hospitals nearby like the cleveland clinic which is right next to the HEC which is personally my favorite building on campus. i think one thing that i don’t necessarily love about case is the location - it’s cleveland (lol no offense to the clevelanders) but i’m from southern california so it was a really big adjustment for me especially first semester and during the winter months. BUT having a good community make such the difference and really putting yourself out there to make friends is so important to get through it and know that you’re not alone. i also don’t like SAGES classes (which is being changed to a new writing program for upcoming freshman). it doesn’t really apply to you but SAGES is just different writing classes based on different topics that we are required to take (only have to take 3) but they get filled fast and it’s kinda hard to fit it into my schedule but since they’re changing it i think it will be different for you guys so that’s fun and i can’t really say anything about the new program! and regardless where you go to college, you’ll have to take classes that you don’t love bc that’s just apart of college. to your last question, what ultimately made me choose case was the experience i would be getting here, the education that i’m getting, and the opportunities i will be able to get from going to such a well known nursing school! i hope this helps :))

      @@jordynmacias444 So you can become a nursing assistant by 2nd semester if you wanted to?

    • @xluluna
      @xluluna Před 2 lety

      @@jordynmacias444 Thank you so much for your reply! Definitely the early clinical which is not always seen in other nursing schools. I have a CNA/GNA license and hopefully I can transfer and practice there as a nursing assistant. I've seen videos and photos of HEC, which is beautiful. I very much like Case, with Cleveland Clinic right around the corner as well as the other things you have pointed out. Right now I am about ~85% sure that I will probably commit to Case (very indecisive here), but it is really the location/distance from home/safety that concerns me. SAGES really does not sound like fun as writing is just not it for me lol.
