- Germany is a nation of Christmas markets! And each one of them has its own special quirks. In the Bavarian city of Nuremberg, the market is officially opened by the Christkind. But: Who is this person? And what does a Christkind actually do? Can anybody be a Christkind? DW’s Hannah Hummel met the current holder of the Nuremberg Christkind title Teresa Windschall. Have you ever been to the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, one of the world’s most famous Christmas markets?

NÜRNBERG not Nuremberg, a City with that name does not exist in Germany. We write your cities and towns correcly so you have to write the names from other countries correct.
We didn't just make up the English name for Nuremberg. Some cities are simply spelled differently in English. You shouldn't see it as offensive.
