BODY SIDE MOLDING (BSM) WORTH IT ???

- More and more vehicles nowadays don't include BSM (Body Side Molding) on the vehicles. It's become more of an option or accessory for a while. Is that accessory really needed or does it work?
Initially, I'm not a big fan of BSM but there are benefits. For the parts, I paid under $300 for these OEM ones from Lexus. I installed them myself and it did take about 1.5 hours.
Well, it depends on which vehicle you have and is it worth preventing dents and paint damage. In this video, I'll show how my pre-owned BSM looks after removal. I have installed a new BSM also.
It can't protect all dents or paint damage. It can't only prevent the areas where it's installed.

While sitting in a car myself a few years back, a person just parked right next to us and opened the door and slam our vehicle also. Luckily no visible dent.

wife and I rejected a ordered car because they placed the moulding at the bottom of the door. The dealer said, thats how they come from the factory!!! total BS.

I got a lexus nx 2022. I didnt put the molding but im wondering if i should pag $255 for the one in the factory or should just get a random one from amazon? Honestly i do need one of these as im constantly in pain in my head thinking of someone messing up my brand new car. Thank you a lot
I would recommend the oem factory one because of fit and finish plus the looks esp. for Lexus.
Do you have door edge protector also? Is it body color ones or clear ones? What brand is it?
I installed the 3M door edge guards. Lexus has the body color door edge protectors also.

WTF DOTHESE MOLDING HELP PROTECT YOUR DOOR FROM...LOOKS UGLY AF AND IM STUCK WITH THE STUPID FACTORY CHARGING ME EXTRA BY PUTTING THESE ON FROM THE FACTORY WITHOUT MY CONSENT. NOW I HAVE TO REMOVE IT.
It's not everyone wants it. I went to a dealer and didn't add anything and did a market adjustment for $5K. Paying $5K for air.
