The swipe from the side to change watchfaces was a welcome addition for me when it came out, hope they reconsider!
All you’re going to do differently is long-press AND then swipe
I always found that swipe annoying, I do the swipe as a pacifying gesture of sorts sometimes when I don’t have anything in my hands and got annoyed with myself by changing the watch face… I use focus modes to control my watch face anyway so I welcome the streamlined interface 😊

I prefer the new method, long-press and swipe. With the old method, you had to swipe right on the very edge of the screen to change watch faces. If you fail to swipe right from the edge, the face won't change. Now with the long-press and swipe method, you can swipe through watch faces from anywhere on the screen. Much easier and you don't have to be so precise.
Considering the number of times I've accidentally changed my watch face (usually noticing when I most need my watch to work like I expect it), the change is most welcome. It's also more consistent with the new phone faces.

Absolutely love the redesign in watchOS 10! It’s made my SE feel very refreshed and way less laggy than it was on 9. I’ll probably upgrade my SE when 11 drops next year. I’m at 87% battery health on my SE so by next year I’m sure the battery life will be 💩

Wish the side button was more useful. I rarely activate control centre throughout the day, yet there is a whole physical button dedicated to it.

Question: How do I get my timers back? The os 10 update changed my timer app to a stopwatch type app. I use timers (like 5 min. countdown) all the time on my watch. I've looked in my watch settings on my phone and also hit every button on my watch to try and find them. Please help??!!

1:34 My ultra when im driving my hand is on my lap and the watch face always get pressed and shrunk like im going to swipe watch faces. So this new feature will fix that i think. So if that happens, then i can love this ultra. Because right now, it's unbelievable to me that the watch basically gets pressed without using a finger at all. Its just my lap when the watch face touches my lap when i have my wrist on my lap so the face touches my leg. Stupid and never had this problem with all the other previous watches. ✌️
Just updated the os. It’s so cool
All I want from WatchOS for the Ultra is the option to toggle Focus mode on/off when you hit the Action button. That is all.
You can make a shortcut to turn on a focus mode and assign that to the action button! I just made one and confirm it works. But you’ll then need to turn off manually, still working out if you can somehow append a second shortcut based on context but I don’t think so (yet)
Apple has the lead in the smart watch industry, just wish the battery was a little better. But in terms of software, it's leagues better than it's closest competitor, Samsung (I have both)
After I bought my first Apple Watch, the Apple Watch 6, in November 2020, I gave away both my Samsung watches.
My wife’s Garmin lasts like 2 weeks or something crazy. My SE has to charge every other day
@@warrenjoseph76 I'd definitely say that the battery sucks on the Apple Watch (I have the Garmin Fenix 6 Solar which lasts for a month) but the Apple Watch is a true smart watch as the Garmin is more of a watch with app connectivity. Like my Garmin is $1000, but can't do half the stuff my Apple Watch can
My Epix 2 lasts 15 days without always on display, but everything else on, including a 30-40 min GPS workout about 3 times a week. Apple watch battery is pathetic!
@@bonnybabu6443 yeah if a watch had the features of an Apple Watch with the battery of a Garmin it would be the perfect smart watch. Only downside of Garmin is that it's limited outside of its fitness capabilities, my old Apple Watch cost half the price of my Garmin but could do a lot more.

Wish Apple Watch had a much wider range of watch faces as Samsung seem to have a huge selection & some brilliant watch faces.

How about when the watch OS 10 official releases and I don’t have an iPhone compatible with iOS 17 like my iPhone 10 , that’s that means I can’t install watch OS 10 on my watch?

Hi! It is the crown and side button together (not the action button). Like the commenter above said, make sure you enable this in the settings first!
Where's the knight vision mode controlled by digital crown? These one of the critical features that made iWatch Ultra 8 stand apart.

yes, theoretically it is but they removed the fast switching between Apps (double klicking the crown) so they made the rest of the watch less useful

@@RumbleRish it is legit the feature I use most when navigating the ui, I found it way more time consuming and annoying to use os10 where the feature doesn’t exist
SE owner warning here! If your using SE, just don't update, the battery life is poor, if you sleep with sleep tracking, it'll drop 70% a night, and also bad with other time

I hate the new ui, it makes it way slower to use Apps and 2:44 you could access the control center from everywhere before too so i think they just removed some features what makes it just annoying and is the reason why i wll stay on WOS 9

Great, so I won’t be able to upgrade without buying a new phone. I’m still perfectly happy with my iPhone 8, but apparently it won’t be able to install iOS 17. Didn’t even cross my mind this could be an issue when I bought an Apple Watch. Guess I’m switching to garmin.

Having your hiking activity and topo maps repeated is such a wasted opportunity. I will STILL be using Work Outdoors for my hikes given maps AND my current activity are all in one app. Fix this Apple.
I use the outdoor walk app daily when I take my dog for a walk however every time my dog stops to socialise with another dog or do his business I get a prompt asking me if I’ve finished my walk. Frustrating and no way of fixing without switching to open goal which means I lose a lot of features.
Learn how to turn off the reminder. 😉

My battery life is shot. 8 hrs of use = 100% down to 9%. Before the update: 8 hrs = 100% to 75%.
This updates has so many bugs my apple watch 6 stopped working
For me on the series 8 no problems at all, only downside that it uses more battery, specially with always on. Without always on it’s fine
