- Would it have been easier to literally take the entire costume off and then put it all back on???? yes, yes it would have been so much easier if I done that. Is that what I did??? no no it’s not what I did. so here’s part two of the once upon a dream Anastasia dress in which I try to make the entire Internet happy by doing the skirt both ways, so let me know what you like. Are we going with sparkles over or sparkles under?

I really thought i was wanna prefer the sparkles on top, but after seeing the second option, that’s my winner. Sparkles on the bottom for me😂

As a historical inspired gown, sheer on top. As a cosplay of the animation, sparkles on top. But really, you can’t lose either way because the sheer on top adds a richness to the skirt that blends so well with the bodice, and the sparkles on top adds magic and movement. Enjoy the dress! It looks amazing!

I was worried the sparkles wouldn't show under the sheer fabric and I'm glad that I was wrong! Sheer on top looks beautiful and looks perfect with the bodice.

I like the sparkles under the yellow fabric.❤The yellow colour comes out much better whereas the sparkles on top of the yellow fabric steal a bit of the authenticity of Anastasija’s dress. I mean it is yellow afterall and not sparkly white. Thus I would suggest the sparkles to go under the yellow favric❤❤

Sparkles under sheer looks more like her dress in the movie, so that's the winner for me!
option two is way more elegant, it looks like there's not too much sparkles - and then you move and they pop!

Definitely sparkles on the bottom. Especially when you're swooshing the dress around it lets it stay more yellow, instead of just the sparkle layer swishing.
Oh my gosh! Sparkles on the BOTTOM FOR SURE!!! The sheer layer on top is SOOOOOOOOO PRETTY and feels waaaaaay more like the OG! BTW, I LOVE this costume! You did a great job!!!

I think that sparkles on top matches better with the sleeves, but I like the look of the sparkles on bottom better when just looking at the skirt. Either way it’s very pretty!
I personally like the sheer on top and sparkles underneath. You still get that glittery glow without it being too much.
😮The skirt GLOWS with an ethereal Anastasia beauty with the sparkles underneath. Other way is still pretty but it looks polished and coronation worthy with that glow from the sparkles underneath ✨

I think sparkles on the bottom, it makes the yellow look a lot nicer colour. It also looks closer to the animated with the sheer over the top, so it is just a hint of sparkles without muting the yellow. Really pretty!

It's so hard to decide because it's gorgeous both ways. 😭 I can't help but think sparkles underneath looks more like flowy liquid like the animation which I've obsessed over since I was small. But the sparkles on top is so dazzling like it should be under stage lights or a dance floor. Maybe it could be a day to night transition without a real costume change!
They are both beautiful, but ... I like sheer on top better. The fabric seems to drape better on top than the sparkle fabric does. I'm not sure that I've commented before, but I'm always amazed and delighted by your designs and execution. Living vicariously through you. 🥰

GREAT IDEA that you did the layers separately so you can literally mix and match depending on your mood, thoughts, event style, etc! And also you can mix and match in different dresses because that is literally the perfect belle gold yellow skirt too ! ( is that the one that was on your belle dress? I fell in love with that skirt layer the second I saw it bc noone has been able to actually find the right yellow shade for her dress, they either go dull gold, green gold or neon or mustard yellow - none of which are close to the animation - but this delicate, light shiny silky fabric 100% is xxxx🎉 ❤💖💗💕😻😺💞

I love both so much! I think I prefer the sparkles underneath the sheer - it brings out the yellow a bit more. The yellow matches the bodice a bit more closely than when the sparkle layer is on top, which dampens the yellow a bit. But both are gorgeous - and you should choose the one you feel you would look the best in!

I personally like the sparkle layer on the bottom of the sheer. It matches the bodice better than the other one, and it creates the magical effect without going overboard. But, that’s my opinion. Amazing work. ❤
The sheer on top adds contrast to the sparkly sleeves. The fact that you can still see the sparkles under the sheer makes it perfect. ❤

It looks much more rich with the sparkle toned down a bit, but really both are lovely.
I like it a lot both ways, personally slightly prefer the sparkle layer under the sheer layer, but do whatever makes you happy not worry about what the internet says

Gosh, I love how the sparkles on top look when you’re spinning about, but I really do like how the sheer layer keeps the overall impression of the skirt as one unit. The sparkly fabric falls in folds in such a way that you can see it doesn’t blend with the sheer layer.
And here I thought I was going to be team sparkles 😂
You really can’t go wrong, though, so if sparkles on top makes you happier, DO IT! I’d bet the majority of us are happiest when you are happy, so don’t worry about pleasing the whole internet. Though I do love and appreciate that you show us various options for your projects! I like feeling involved. 😁🥰
Sparkle on the bottom. You have the shine and shimmer of the sleeves going all the way down. It's better not to overdue the Sparkle power. Also, the second option it more accurate to the movie... in my opinion.

Depends on how sparkly you feel that day. The sheer on top is really pretty and rich with more subtle sparkle, while the sparkle on top is really sparkly and would probably come alive at night in the lights.

I did notice the skirts catching on the bottom of the crinoline? Maybe a ruffle on the plain base layer might help fluff that out without adding too much bulk

Honestly, I don't see _a lot_ of difference, but if I *had* to choose then I'd say option nr 2. But maybe the difference isn't very clear (to me at least) bc I/we see it on video instead if IRL? Anyways, both options look great and I trust your judgement (also *_because_* you're the only one who saw it IRL) so I'd say whatever you think looks best is the better option

Color wise sparkles under the sheer yellow. The original set with all that tlle hid the hoops in your hoop skirt... the less floofy skirts show the hoops for all to see.

Sparkles on the bottom. On top is for me too much. But, you know what they say... There's never too much glitter 😅 so, probably, we'll never decide
Sparkles under! When they are over they wash out the yellow and it is not as harmonious with the bodice. Also when you lift the skirt to twirl, sparkles on top looks a bit odd (unless the layers were sewn together, I suppose).

Sparkles on top hold more true to Don Bluth Animation. The entire reason I LOVE Don Bluth's animation is because of the use of sparkles!!! The sparkle over sheer really gives that ethereal vibe Don Bluth animation is known for.
It's hard to say because both ways look really good xD I'd say I'm also a bit partial to sparkles on top though, I feel like it's extra cohesive with the sleeves. But you really can't go wrong with it.
