    My dog pooped on my white carpet one day. I immediately cleaned it up, put baking soda on the stain and squeezed lemon juice on top of baking soda ( I DID NOT RUB IT IN ) and I let it sit overnight. Next morning I vacuumed the now dry baking soda. Them shampooed it with my carpet shampooer. Looks brand new!

    I like to use a little dish soap, hot water, and laundry detergent. First I put baking soda on the carpeted and spray vinegar to get rid of the odor, then I come in with the solution and scrub that in with a cleaning brush. Then after letting it soak and scrubbing it in again I rinse it with some water and press down with a dry towel. Let it dry and vacuum it up.

    Tip suggestions Only: When the baking soda is applied dry, use an old fork to disperse it into the lower area of the carpet fibers by raking the fork back and forth. Vinegar and baking soda foam up when mixed together to clean up drains at times, but (H2O2) Hydrogen Peroxide is a better cleaning agent when sprayed onto dirty carpet stains. Also a touch of a bit of Dawn Dishwashing Soap can be added to the spray, as well for better results.

    Hi guys your wife was right on track, it is a little known fact that there is a third ingredient to removing pretty well any stain that goes hand and hand with vinegar and baking soda and that would be peroxide. Make a paste with baking soda and peroxide then spray with vinegar let it do its thing and wash out your stain with dish soap. Have a great day😃stains gone away.

    dish soap and warm water works, so does vinegar and soda, so do all the commercial carpet cleans I have tried. Here's the thing though. You likely have a stain that goes through the carpet into the padding, so you can try everything, but due to the wick effect, the stain gets back into the carpet. The secret is to clean it first and try to get up as much stain as possible. Then, make sure the carpet is COMPLETELY dry. Yes, the stain will still be there...maybe even darker. Don't worry. Now use any of the cleaning methods mentioned...vinegar, peroxide, baking soda, commercial carpet cleaners, etc. but do not soak the carpet. This time just work the product into the surface and then remove it with a white cloth. The stain will be gone...brown stains anyway.

    See the little kibble barfing monster to the left there? I can tell you from personal experience that it'll work better if you 1. Use peroxide instead of vinegar, and 2. Allow the baking soda to DRY! The stain will lift into the baking soda as it dries and can then be vacuumed up and then shampooed afterwards if you like.
    It also works best if the spot is first pretreated by scrubbing with peroxide before sprinkling the baking soda on top and then spraying with more peroxide. The baking soda will crust as it dries (you can use a hair dryer to speed things up) and can be broken up by dragging a fork thru it, allowing it to dry faster.

    • @DarkandStormyNight01
      @DarkandStormyNight01 Před 7 lety +5

      My experience with barfy kibble stains (damn orange kibble dye!) was that it might look like the stain is worse and showing through the baking soda as it drys; but if you run a fork through it after it's nearly dry, you'll quickly realize that the stain is actually being lifted into the baking soda. When dry, sweep up the major chunks with a whisk broom before vacuuming and shampooing to avoid both clogging your vacuum and reapplying the stain (if going straight to shampooing). If really bad, you may have to re-treat the stain, but usually once is enough. BTW, my carpet is the same color as in the video.

      I'd repeat the peroxide (pour it on the stain), allowing the peroxide to sit for a minute to allow it to bubble and work. Rub in and then sprinkle with baking soda, spritz with more peroxide (I put some in a spray bottle) and allow it to dry before vacuuming up. Repeat if needed.
      You might also try (after pouring peroxide on the stain) placing a hot iron set on steam on top of a damp *white* cloth as per several videos.

  • @Venus-19
    @Venus-19 Před 7 lety +112

    youve pushed it further into the fibres by doing all that...all u needed was cotton rags (clean ones)an iron (set to medium heat + low steam) hot water and dish soap liquid...
    poor 1 tspoon liquid into about 300ml water poor it on the stain, take ur rags soak them in clean how water then lay them over the stain..take ur iron and lay it ontop of the "wet" cotton rags (use about 5 layers of rags) then move the iron round making sure u dont stay in 1 place of dry the rags as they need to stay wet! (thats important!) then u will see the stain start to come through to the top layer of the rags when u do lift the rags up rinse them out and do the while process again! still making sure you dont stay in 1 place with the iron..then take clean dry rags and lay them over the top over where the stain was in press them into the fibres for about 3 mins (dont rub just pat with a little force) then take a hairdryer and dry the carpet good as new! i am a 28 year old woman that made the same mistake as u before i learnt this trick! TRY IT FOR YOURSELF YOU WILL SEE! the main thing you need to NOT do is rub on a stain ever! BECAUSE YOUR RUBBING IT IN FURTHER DYING THE FIBRES OF THE COLOUR!!

It would have been easier to buy a carpet stain product by a good company that is designed for getting stains out of carpet. Then the rent has to go up, Cookie! And if the area doesn't warrant higher rent the landlord is stuck doing all sorts of stuff to make it a better place for his tenants!

      sweatintotheoldies if you keep the last tenant’s deposit or charge carpet fees to replace it, then yes, you need to fix people’s carpet. Ask yourself: would YOU move into a place like that with those carpets looking the way they do?

    Peroxide will also get stains out. Especially blood. It breaks up the clotting process

    Use a shop vac while pouring or squirting the soda with vinegar.

  • @ncorp2668
    @ncorp2668 Před 6 lety +1

    When you use the carpet shampooer, you have to press the trigger/spray button and *hold* it over the spot for a while. With dark stains, you usually have to do it multiple times, going over the stain very, very slowly, over and over again before it vacuums up the liquid from the carpet. I can tell your shampooer didn't have enough solution or it didn't spray enough of it on the carpet. I find that major stains take *a lot* of carpet shampooing solution...when going over one dark stain and finally getting it out, I usually end up with very little solution left in the refill tank. Also, renting a RugDoctor from Walmart is only $34 for 2 days, and it works SUPER well!

    I appreciate the hardwork you did LOL but if you got Dollar tree around your place grab CARPET DETACHANT its a red colour bottle and a scrubber. Apply on carpet where you want to clean and scrub it ...... Repeat this 2 time and wipe down with paper towel ...... Boom easy peesy .....and stop searching Carpet cleaner on youtube🤣
